Endo-permutation modules as sources of simple modules.
No full textThe source of a simple -module, for a finite -solvable group and an algebraically closed field of prime characteristic , is an endo-permutation module (see~\cite{Pu1} or~\cite{Th}). L. Puig has proved, more precisely, that this source must be isomorphic to the cap of an endo-permutation module of the form \bigotimes_{Q/R\in\cal S}\Ten^P_Q\Inf^Q_{Q/R}(M_{Q/R}), where is an indecomposable torsion endo-trivial module with vertex , and is a set of cyclic, quaternion and semi-dihedral sections of the vertex of the simple -module. At present, it is conjectured that, if the source of a simple module is an endo-permutation module, then it should have this shape. In this paper, we are going to give a method that allow us to realize explicitly the cap of any such indecomposable module as the source of a simple module for a finite -nilpotent group

No full textThermobifida fusca gram-pozitív, aerob, közepesen termofil, szálas, talajlakó baktérium mely az Actinobaktériumok közé tartozik. Fő lebontója a növényi sejtfalnak. Hat különböző cellulázt izoláltak belőle ebből 4db endo- és 2db exo-enzim. Xilanáz lebontásában résztvevő enzimei: endo-ß-1,4-xilanáz, xilozidáz, α-L-arabinofuranozidáz. Hidroláz enzimei nagyon hőstabilisak, az N-terminálison találhatók azok az aminósavak melyek ezen hőtoleranciáért felelősek. Kutatásaim arra irányultak, hogy ezen enzimei közül két extracelluláris β-D-endoxilanáz biokémiai karakterizálását elvégezzem.
Az elvégzett kísérletek során megállapíthattuk, hogy mennyire hatékony volt a heterológ expressziós rendszerünk, amelyben gazdaszervezetként E. coliBL21(DE3) törzset használtunk. Vizsgáltam hőmérsékletük optimális körülményei, a szubsztrát függésükkel egyetemben. Végül kinetikai paramétereiket elemeztem a kapott adatok alapján.gjBiológia BscBs
The Dade group of a metacyclic -group.
No full textThe Dade group of a finite -group , formed by equivalence classes of endo-permutation modules, is a finitely generated abelian group. Its torsion-free rank equals the number of conjugacy classes of non-cyclic subgroups of and it is conjectured that every non-trivial element of its torsion subgroup has order , (or also , in case ). The group is closely related to the injectivity of the restriction map \Res:T(P)\rightarrow\prod_E T(E) where runs over elementary abelian subgroups of and denotes the group of equivalence classes of endo-trivial modules, which is still unknown for (almost) extra-special groups ( odd). As metacyclic -groups have no (almost) extra-special section, we can verify the above conjecture in this case. Finally, we compute the whole Dade group of a metacyclic -group

No full textMany foreign observers were surprised that Oe Kenzaburo and not the more well known Endo Shusaku won the 1994 Nobel Prize for Literature. An examination of the three most recently issued English translations of Endo's works, with their various Christian themes, may help account for the particularly affinity that Western readers have for his work. The earliest of these works, the novel The Sea and Poison (1958) represents Endo's attempt to assess the problem of individual responsibility, especially as it relates to the acts of Japanese medical personnel during World War II. In The Girl I Left Behind (1964), Endo took a distinctly Christian direction, and treated the virtues of compassion and self-abnegation as Christian values. Morphometric analysis of surface changes in XP-endo group files after root canal instrumentation
No full textAim. In the last decades, the field of Endodontics has seen a number of developments. In particular, the creation of the nickel-titanium MaxWire alloy with two fundamental prosperities such as superelasticity and shape memory allow to FKG Dentaire SA to create a completely new generation of instruments. This study aimed to investigate the surface changes of XP-Endo Shaper, XP-Endo Finisher and XP-Endo Finisher R files before and after several uses in vivo as well as after they were immersed in irrigation solutions and sterilization procedures.Material and methods. A total of 18 instruments were used, which were divided into 3 main groups (n = 6). Root canals of 45 extracted mandibular molars were selected and instrumented according to the traditional protocol. The instruments’ surface changes were analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).Results. Morphometric changes such as the presence of machining grooves, plastic deformation, microcracks, craters, disruption of the cutting edges and fracture could be visualized by SEM on instruments’ surfaces and EDS revealed the existence of Ni, Ti, Si, O. XP-endo Finisher/R groups showed significant deteriorations after the third use. XP-endo Shaper files exhibited a statistically higher number of surface deteriorations after the fifth use (P < 0.05). It appears that XP-endo group files have a high margin of working capacity and durability as they keep effectiveness up to the third time they have been used. In addition to nickel and titanium, other compounds are present in the elemental composition of these instruments, which can have an impact on the increased strength and endurance of the instruments

No full textDissertação (Mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico.O presente trabalho teve como principais objetivos investigar o desempenho de microrganismos potencialmente produtores de endo-inulinase e estudar as condições de produção desta enzima. Dezesseis linhagens fúngicas e três linhagens bacterianas foram avaliadas quanto a produção de endo-inulinase. Os resultados indicaram o microrganismo isolado Paenibacillus sp. CDB 003 como sendo o melhor produtor de endo-inulinase. A influência das concentrações de inulina, de extrato de levedura, da concentração de sulfato de amônio, de ácido succínico, do íon fosfato , assim como da freqüência de agitação, do suprimento de oxigênio (KLa), da temperatura de cultivo e do pH do meio sobre a produção de endo-inulinase foi avaliada. Sendo a inulina comercial um substrato de alto custo para a produção industrial de endo-inulinase, o comportamento da cepa Paenibacillus sp. CDB 003 foi investigado em meio contendo extrato de chicória como fonte natural de inulina. Os resultados encontrados foram similares àqueles obtidos com a inulina comercial. Algumas características da enzima, tais como, temperatura ótima de incubação, estabilidade com o tempo e com a temperatura, valores de Km e Vmax e a correlação entre o tempo de hidrólise da inulina e a formação de açúcares redutores também foram avaliados
