    Lasuang atau lesung merupakan alat untuk menumbuk padi pada masa lalu. Dalam setiap peristiwa budaya yang ada dalam cerita rakyat banyak ditemukan aktifitas masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan lesung. Setiap aktifitas tersebut selalu menghadirkan cerita-cerita yang menarik. Hal ini merupakan ciri khas masyarakat petani atau masyarakat agraris. Kondisi tersebut menimbulkan keinginan untuk menciptaan seni tari yang berangkat dari fenomena lesung tersebut. Fenomena lesung yang dijadikan dasar penciptaan seni tari adalah fenomena yang berhubungan dengan kebudayaan Minangkabau pada masa lalu. Pada masa lalu, lasuang memiliki konteks menumbuk padi di lasuang. Mengenang masa lalu, lasuang merupakan salah satu tempat untuk bermain dengan sesama, lasuang juga tempat mendapatkan pengalaman untuk hidup di masa mendatang. Seorang ibu tidak hanya memberikan nasehat ketika berada di rumah saja, namun si anak juga bisa mendapatkan petuah-petuah ini disaat berada di lokasi lasuang

    Bagas Parsadaan dance work is inspired by one of the meanings of TorTor Naposo Nauli Bulung which is about togetherness and unity of young people in Mandailing Natal society. The author describes the idea in a group choreography using seven dancers, 3 male dancers and 4 female dancers. Through this work, the author not only wants to present the aesthetics of movement, but also convey a message about the importance of harmony and cooperation as the foundation of life together, as reflected in the cultural traditions of Mandailing Natal. The movements presented are arranged with a composition that emphasises togetherness, dynamic rhythm, and strong traditional nuances. This work uses the Alma M. Hawkins dance creation approach in the book ‘Creating Through Dance and Choreography Form, Technique, and Content, this approach has stages namely data collection and field observation, exploration, improvisation, formation, and evaluation. The music used in this work is made from computer technology. Bagas Parsadaan's dance work uses pure type, and is performed at the Hoerijjah Adam Performance Hall

    ABSTRACT  The creation of Garak Nagari Perempuan Dance is basically an effort to revive baKaba tradition that nowadays has lack of existence in Minangkabau people’s life. The choice of reviving baKaba tradition is based on the consideration that this tradition is truly an effective media to transmit and spread various positive values that are useful in Minangkabau people own life. It’s not only in the past, that potential is believed to be able to be used in the present day, to face today’s life.Generally, performing arts (including dance) is indeed difficult to enter the creative industry because it cannot be produced en masse in the same time except involving recording industry and then it’s distributed in the society. This thing is also at risk toward the establishment of a performance that can no longer be developed. Dance in the creative industry is the embodiment of dance communication with its society. The dance that can directly enter the creative industry is the dance considered established such as what has been previously done. This results on an assumption that that dance is no longer developing. Tidak  saja  di masa  lalu,  potensi  tersebut  diyakini  dapat  digunakan di masa sekarang, untuk menghadapi peri-kehidupan masakini.Seni pertunjukan secara umum (termasuk tari) memang hal yang sulit untuk memasuki industri kreatif karena ia tidak bisa di produksi secara masal dalam waktu yang sama, kecuali melibatkan industri perekaman dan kemudian dipasarkan di tengah masyarakat. Hal ini juga beresiko terhadap kemapanan sebuah pertunjukan yang tidak bisa lagi dikembangkan.Seni tari dalam industri kreatif merupakan perwujudan dari komunkasi seni tari dengan masyarakatnya. Seni tari yang bisa langsung masuk pada industri kreatif adalah seni tari yang dianggap mapan seperti yang pernah dilakukan. Hal ini menyebabkan seni tari tersebut dianggap tidak lagi berkembang.     Karya tari berjudul “Berpacu dalam Pacuan “ ini terinspirasi dari budaya Pacu Jalur yang ada di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Pacu jalur merupakan sebuah perlombaan mendayung disungai Batang Kuantan dengan menggunakan jalur tradisional yang menjadi ciri khas daerah Kuantan Singingi yang sampai sekarang masih berkembang. Pengkarya memfokuskan kepada semangat kebersamaan anak pacu jalur dalam perlombaan. Untuk menggarap konsep ini pengkarya mempunyai ide garapan, pengkarya menggunakan tubuh serta properti dayung dan peluit untuk menggambarkan semangat kebersamaan anak pacu jalur. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelahiran karya ini diantaranya, observasi, pengolahan data, studi pustaka, pemilihan pendukung karya, eksplorasi, penataan gerak, improvisasi, dan evaluasi. Dalam karya ini terdiri dari tiga bagian, bagian pertama menggambarkan suasana berlatih dan persiapan anak pacu jalur. Yang terdiri dari gerak gerak berlatih, bagian kedua pengkarya mengolah gerak – gerakan yang dilakukan anak pacu jalur seperti mendayung, menekan dengan kekuatan yang berbeda – beda. Bagian ketiga, menggambarkan suasana kemenangan hasil semangat juang anak pacu jalur dalam perlombaan.

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
