    MODEL OF CLUSTER INITIATIVE IN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM – RESEARCH ON EDUCATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH LABOUR MARKET

    Education for labour market on the school level is neglected in Poland. Concentration on university degree and general education caused the decrease of interest of vocational education of qualified workers (needed on labor market). To the most important problems in management in the area of vocational education belong: 1. Increasing number of lower secondary schools graduates choosing general secondary schools and willing to continue education at universities. 2. Decreasing interest of vocational education. 3. Lack of information of labour market requirements and very inefficient cooperation between labour market and educational system. 4. Graduates knowledge, qualifications, skills and attitudes does meet labour market needs. To solve these problems the Author suggests to create the cluster initiative in educational system (as a part of research of the project “Creation the cluster initiatives in education systemâ€Â; caring out in Silesian University of Technology; financed by Ministry of Science and Higher Education; no 0193/B/H03/2010/39). The paper presents good practices in vocational education to implement in the initiative and a map of categories of solution. Research also indicated barriers and abilities of the implementation those solutions (or elements of them). The proposal to adapt the education to labour market requirements is based on integrated research and monitoring on cluster initiative’s participants. They are: pupils, educational area (mainly: schools directors and teachers), employers and local governments. The paper also highlights the model of cluster initiative in education. Research helped to indicate areas of the best climate to create cluster initiative, barriers and difficulties, ways of communication, range of corporation in the initiative. Indicated operations, processes and role of participants in cluster initiative will help to create the expert system to support educational management in conjunction with labour market needs. The idea of expert system is to activate communication between potential participant in cluster initiative. Making decisions on the basis of scientific research will make them rational. A tool used by every participant will help to create cluster initiative in education (firstly very narrow) and to support functioning of the cluster initiative.

    Role of the Anterior Cingulate Cortex in the Control of Micturition Reflex in a Rat Model of Parkinson's Disease

    Purpose: The present study examined dynamic changes in neural activity of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) during the micturition reflex in a Parkinson's disease (PD) model as well as the effects of direct stimulation of the ACC on the micturition reflex. Materials and Methods: Electrodes were inserted into the ACC or the PAG, and the effects of intravenous (i.v.) administration of ZM24138 (ZM: adenosine A2A receptor antagonist) on the pelvic nerve evoked field potentials were examined. The effect of electrical stimulation of the ACC was also examined. Results: PD rats showed bladder overactivity evidenced by a significant decrease in intercontraction intervals (ICI) compared with sham rats. I.v. administration of ZM increased ICI in both groups with the inhibitory effects being greater in PD; and dose-dependently increased the amplitude of evoked potentials in the ACC of PD rats but not in sham rats. I.v. administration of ZM reduced the evoked potential amplitude in the PAG of both groups with the inhibitory effects being greater in PD vs. sham rats. Electrical stimulation of the ACC significantly increased ICI. Conclusions: These results suggest that ACC neurons have an inhibitory role in bladder control because neural activity in the ACC was significantly increased along with suppression of bladder overactivity after ZM administration in the PD model, and the stimulation of the ACC inhibited the micturition reflex. Understanding the roles of the ACC in the modulation of micturition could provide further insights into the pathophysiology of OAB

    Thermocapillary Effect in a Thermal Rheological Jet

    The process of die swell in polymer jets is an important feature within polymer processing and can be explained through a study of its rheological effects. The existence of a thermocapillary effect, driven by the gradient of its surface tension, should be considered when examining a thermal jet that has a non-uniform temperature distribution on its free surface, as in various polymer processings. Both the rheological effect and thermocapillary effect on die swell can be studied numerically through a finite element method as used on a two-dimensional and unsteady model, in which a Coleman-Noll second-order fluid model is employed. The results show that the expanding angle depends on both the rheological property of the fluid and the pressure at the vessel exit. Although both the thermocapillary and the rheological effects contribute to the cross-section expansion of the fluid jet, the latter is more important in determining the expansion

    The inhibiting effect of two newly synthesized inhibitors, namely 3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-9-phenyl-3,4,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-xanthenes-1,8(5H,9H)-dione (ZM-1) and 9-(4-Bromophenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-3,4,5,6,7,9-hexahydro-2H-xanthene-1,8-dine (ZM-2) on mild steel (MS) corrosion in 1 M HCl solution has been examined. For this purpose, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Potentiodynamic Polarization measurements (PP) have been carried out. Furthermore, theoretical chemistry concepts have been used to calculate and analyze the molecule’s quantum parameters. This has been accomplished using Density Functional Theory (DFT). Molecular Dynamic Simulation has been used to interpret the inhibiting action mode. It has been perceived that the increase of inhibitor concentration managed to significant corrosion rate reduction of MS in 1 M HCl, with inhibitive efficiency values reaching, respectively, 84% and 87% at 10?3 M inhibitor concentrations of ZM-1 and ZM-2. The inhibition efficiency is augmented with an inhibitor concentration increase. Temperature influence on the corrosion behavior of MS in 1 M HCl at the inhibitor’s optimal concentration of 10?3 M was studied in the range of temperature 298–328 K. Polarization plots showed that ZM-1 and ZM-2 acted as mixed-type inhibitors. The adsorption mechanism of the studied inhibitors was consistent with the Langmuir isotherm model. The corroded surface has also been analyzed by SEM/EDX; AFM, contact angle, and XRD techniques. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG
