The argument for an exomoon hinges on the system being relatively close to the Sun. The data constrain the product MLπrel where ML is the lens system mass and πrel is the lens-source relative parallax. If the lens system is nearby (large πrel), then ML is small (a few Jupiter masses) and the companion is a sub-Earth-mass exomoon. The best-fit solution has a large lens-source relative proper motion, μrel = 19.6 ± 1.6 mas yr–1, which would rule out a distant lens system unless the source star has an unusually high proper motion. However, data from the OGLE collaboration nearly rule out a high source proper motion, so the exoplanet+exomoon model is the favored interpretation for the best fit model. However, there is an alternate solution that has a lower proper motion and fits the data almost as well. This solution is compatible with a distant (so stellar) host. A Bayesian analysis does not favor the exoplanet+exomoon interpretation, so Occam's razor favors a lens system in the bulge with host and companion masses of M host = 0.12 +0.19-0.06 MΘ and mcomp = 18+28-10M⊕, at a projected separation of a⊥ = 0.84+0.25−0.14 AU. The existence of this degeneracy is an unlucky accident, so current microlensing experiments are in principle sensitive to exomoons. In some circumstances, it will be possible to definitively establish the mass of such lens systems through the microlensing parallax effect. Future experiments will be sensitive to less extreme exomoons.Peer reviewe

    Drivers and inhibitors of gen Z’s proenvironmental travel engagement: exploring MOA factors and goal frames

    Purpose This study aims to gain insights into the drivers and inhibitors of proenvironmental behaviors (PEB) among Gen Z tourists through the lens of the goal-framing theory (GFT) and the motivation–opportunity–ability (MOA) framework. It also aims to propose interventions for promoting proenvironmental tourist behaviors. Design/methodology/approach A qualitative approach was adopted, building on 20 in-depth interviews with Swedish teenagers. The thematic data analysis was guided by a conceptual model integrating MOA and GFT. FindingsThe findings indicate that teenagers primarily lack motivation for eco-friendly travel. Their ability is hindered by limited knowledge, while low involvement in travel decisions and unsupportive destination norms restrict their opportunities. Overcoming these challenges requires interventions that boost engagement in PEB through informational and structural strategies, making eco-friendly options more affordable, efficient, enjoyable and desirable.     Stellar variability in the MOA database

    Research undertaken for this thesis aimed to detect and identify stellar variability in the database of the Japan/New Zealand MOA collaboration. The database of stars collected by the MOA project provided an extensive source of raw data for analysis. Detection of stellar variability was performed by several C++ programs created by the author, which incorporated the Welch and Stetson variability index, the Schwarzenburg-Czerny period folding program, a microlensing modelling program and a transit, detection program. The search for stellar variability produced 83 Cepheid variables, 265 long period variables, 59 eclipsing binaries and 6 potential microlensing events. Sixteen potentially interesting variations that could correspond to planetary transits were also detected. The folded lightcurve of one of the potential transits was categorised as a 'very interesting transit' and 15 were categorised as 'interesting transits'. The search for planetary transits ultimately proved unsuccessful, however, a detailed statistical study of the MOA data revealed several alterations concerning observational procedures which could be made to optimise the MOA data for any future search for planetary transits

    MOA - An Evaluation Model for Implementation and Use of IT in Organizations

    MOA is an evaluation model for implementation of IT in organisations, developed by the author. The model has been used for several evaluation studies, and has been slightly modified in order to be useful for different fields of informatics.  The MOA-E model has been used for case studies within the field of Computer-Supported Co-operative Work and implementation of e-Government. The MOA-L model has been used for case studies within the field of e-Learning at work for web-based internally developed courses. The MOA model has also been used as a scenario model (MOA-S). The basic model primarily focuses on the three different aspects work processes (from a management perspective), work situations (from the perspectives of the employees) and quality of services (or product) produced (from the perspective of the customers/clients or patients). The model has mainly been used in a process-oriented way, studying implementation and use at different stages of the development process. The aim of the paper is to describe the model and the main experiences from the use of the model. Some experiences from the use of the model are usefulness for many different fields of informatics and flexibility. The model combines simplicity and complexity in a flexible way. The focus on different perspectives of the model facilitates the design of technology, organisation (and education) leading to a “win-win”-scenario for the different interest groups, and also the evaluation of consequences for different interest groups.</p

    MoA: Mixture-of-Attention for Subject-Context Disentanglement in Personalized Image Generation

    We introduce a new architecture for personalization of text-to-image diffusion models, coined Mixture-of-Attention (MoA). Inspired by the Mixture-of-Experts mechanism utilized in large language models (LLMs), MoA distributes the generation workload between two attention pathways: a personalized branch and a non-personalized prior branch. MoA is designed to retain the original model's prior by fixing its attention layers in the prior branch, while minimally intervening in the generation process with the personalized branch that learns to embed subjects in the layout and context generated by the prior branch. A novel routing mechanism manages the distribution of pixels in each layer across these branches to optimize the blend of personalized and generic content creation. Once trained, MoA facilitates the creation of high-quality, personalized images featuring multiple subjects with compositions and interactions as diverse as those generated by the original model. Crucially, MoA enhances the distinction between the model's pre-existing capability and the newly augmented personalized intervention, thereby offering a more disentangled subject-context control that was previously unattainable.     Biobränsle från jordbruket : En implementeringsstudie av ett regionalt miljömål

    Minskad klimatpåverkan genom mindre användning av fossila bränslen är centralt i miljöpolitiken. För Jämtlands län finns ett regionalt miljömål om en ökad produktion av klimatneutral energi med delmålet att biobränsleproduktionen inom jordbruket ska öka från 0 TWh år 2005 till minst 0,2 TWh år 2015. Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge en bild av vilka hinder som kan finnas för uppfyllandet av delmålet. Åtta intervjuer har genomförts och beskrivna hinder har identifierats och delats in i kategorier. Resultaten har därefter diskuterats mot bakgrund av villkoren för jordbruk och energiproduktion och ur ett systemteoretiskt perspektiv, där implementeringen beskrivs som mötespunkten för tre system: klimatpolitik, jordbruk och energisystem. Slutsatser som dras är att problem med lönsamhet samt en riskovilja är centrala hinder, möjligen kan de minskas genom ekonomiska stöd. En möjlig konflikt mellan livsmedels- och bränsleproduktion framträder också tydligt. Ur ett systemperspektiv betonas interaktionen mellan systemen som den struktur där implementeringshindren uppstår och implementeringen bör därför integrera flera perspektiv
