No full textDr. Aslam Ansari was a multi-dimensional literary personality. Along with poetry in Urdu, Persian, English and Saraiki, he has also done insightful work of research and criticism. He has a very high standing among the experts of Iqbal. He has also been closely related to fiction.“Gulbang-e-Arzoo” is a collection of Persian poetry by Dr. Aslam Ansari. It includes five of his fascinating and thought-provoking Masnavis, as well as a valuable Dewan. The great Persian poet Nizami wrote five Masnavis and introduced the tradition of "Khamsa" in literature and many great poets followed him and strengthened this tradition. Dr. Aslam Ansari was the bearer of this tradition in our era. Dr. Aslam Ansari's Persian poetry, like his Urdu poetry, is a masterpiece of thought and art and a treasure of knowledge and wisdom. He has written poetry in many genres, but his nature is particularly fond of Masnavi and Ghazal. After Allama Iqbal, there is no Persian poet like him in Pakistan. He has translated a large part of Allama Iqbal's Urdu works into Persian with great excellence. In this article, an introductory study of his Persian poetry collection "Gulbang-i Arzoo" is presented and his artistic skills are studied
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textIbn Hazm, a theologian and a great scholar of Muslim Spain, born in a well-off family rose to eminence as a jurist of a great ingenuity, a historian, polemicist and a fine writer of prose and poetry. In his early years, he wrote a book Ṯauq-al Ḥamāmah (Neck-Ring of Dove), translated into many western languages, including a fine translation into English by Arthur Arberry (1905-1969). In his famous book Al-Milal-o-Al-Niḥal (The Book of Sects and Creeds), he propounded a theory of axiomatic knowledge as implicitly expressed in the behavior of children. This article deals mainly with his theory of innate knowledge. Some views of Allama Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938) and Noam Chomsky (1928) have been deemed by the present writer as supportive of Ibn Hazm’s theory of axiomatic knowledge exhibited in children’s behavior. His magnum opus was voluminous Āl-Muḥalā (The Adorned Treatise) containing a wealth of juristic knowledge, unrivalled till date. He was in favor of state control over superfluous wealth and land, a view which after centuries, was extolled in Pakistan in late 1960’s

No full textSome of the modern linguistics suggests that all languages are equal in so far as their natural potential for development is concerned. Hence, no language is inferior to any other language in the world. But languages do progress and flourish to meet the demands of day to day life. Siraiki, as one of the oldest languages spoken in this part of the world, has rich literature or a vast vocabulary, but its progress along the line of modern sciences and their terminologies has been rather slow. In this article, some basic principles for term-making have been laid down and followed in the proposed Siraiki terms relating to arts, literature, languages, grammar and some of the modern, concepts. A suffix to substitute the 'ology' or 'logy' has been suggested to be used in Siraiki. Most of the terms have been derived from classical Siraiki language amp; literature
