Differences in Social Preferences - Are They Profitable for the Firm?
This paper analyzes the impact of heterogeneous (social) preferences on the weighting and combination of performance measures as well as on a firm’s profitability. We consider rivalry, egoism and altruism as extreme forms within the continuum of possible preferences and show that the principal can typically exploit both the altruistic and rivalistic behavior of his agents. Firm profits reach their maximum value if the agents are differentiated as much as possible in their individual characteristics. We provide further insight; namely, that in order to realize these gains in profitability, it is necessary to reallocate participation in performance measures such that competitive agents are privileged as compared to altruistic agents. In this context, stochastic interdependencies are of importance since they yield overlapping functions of the share parameters, causing additional adaptations in the optimal design of the wage compensation system.Social Preferences; Rivalry; Altruism; Egoism; Team Composition; Performance Measurement

In the article, the author is trying to find quintessential causes for the said errors, the article touches on the difficult problematic issues from the borderline of various areas of study relating to learning about the environment, the primary concept of the author is the attempt to undertake a holistic approach to the problem of natural science education. M s approach is to guarantee a better understanding of the environment. It is also to impact the launch of a new quality of its management and solve the growing number of critical situations in the environment and by the same, the proper shaping and implementation of the sustainable environment concept. In his presentation, the author backs his arguments with well known views of the following philosophers: Forbes, Smuts, Tansley, Haeckel, Birge as well as with theories from the borderline of ecology and philosophy such as: the development theory, integration levels and synergism

The Author, in the article, discusses proper water management problems. He presents the primary causes resulting in the degradation of water relations in the form of regular occurrences of floods or dry spells in Europe. In the article, degradation of water relation problems taking place in our country is compared to those in Germany or Austria. He points to the need for systematic teaching of basic environmental subjects within the holistic concept constituting a tool in shaping pro-ecological consciousness
Selected problems of holistic management of the natural environment with the concept of sustainable development, as the basis for the establishment of a scientific environmental protection discipline
The article addresses a very important issue, being the lack of a specific environmental protection scientific discipline in Poland. The actual situation in this extent is analyzed and compared to the solutions of the EU based on the systematic basis accepted by the OECD. The author presents methodological solutions in his study, which may serve as the basis for the creation of a substantive framework for the designation of a separate environmental protection scientific discipline. These assumptions are supported by holistic elements, which are essential to environmental management with regard to the concept of sustainable development

As the main reason he considers the specific crisis of chemical methods and progress a chieved in biocenology, bacteriology and insects pathology. The author discusses in detail the achievements and perspectives in the field of utilization of bacteria and nematodes. Both trends are promising. His main hopes are linked to methods carrying pathogenic bacteria. The author suggests that some species of the family Diplogasteridae may serve as vectors of such bacteria

Artykuł jest próbą częściowej analizy przebiegu procesu tworzenia się, a następnie kształtowania idei zrównoważonego rozwoju środowiska. Autor wskazuje na błędy, powstałe w początkowym okresie tworzenia szczegółowego programu dla tej idei. Konsekwencją tego, były nieprawidłowości w zarządzaniu środowiskiem naturalnym w Europie, wyrządzając w nim wiele szkód. Autor próbuje znaleźć, merytoryczne przyczyny powstania tych błędów. W artykule, porusza trudną problematykę z pogranicza różnych nauk, związaną z poznawaniem środowiska. Główną ideą autora jest podjęcie próby holistycznego podejścia do problemu edukacji przyrodniczej. Podejście to ma gwarantować, lepsze rozumienie środowiska. Ma ono również wpłynąć na uruchomienie nowej jakości w jego zarządzaniu i rozwiązywaniu narastających sytuacji kryzysowych w środowisku, a tym samym prawidłowe kształtowanie i wdrażanie idei zrównoważonego rozwoju. The article is an attempt at a partial analysis of the development process and the shaping of the sustainable development concept. The author points out mistakes made during the initial period of creating a detailed program of sustainable development, the consequence of which was the improper management of the natural environment in Europe, which caused considerable environmental damage. The article touches on difficult problematic issues from the perspective of various areas of study. The main aim of the author is to apply a holistic approach to the problem of natural science education. This approach is meant to guarantee a better understanding of the environment. It is also intended to have an impact in relation to the quality of environmental management and the growing number of critical situations in the environment, by ensuring the proper shaping and implementation of the sustainable environment concept. The author backs up his arguments with well-known views forwarded by Forbes, Smuts, Tansley, Haeckel, Birge as well as with theories drawn from ecology and philosophy (examples include development theory, and the theory of integration levels and synergism).Artykuł jest próbą częściowej analizy przebiegu procesu tworzenia się, a następnie kształtowania idei zrównoważonego rozwoju środowiska.
