Sri Andreani, M.Ed., (2) Francisca Maria Ivone, M.A., Ph.D.   Keywords: writing, writing ability, scaffolding strategy   This study aimed to overcome the problem faced by the VIII grade students at SMPN 4 Malang. In the preliminary study that was conducted in class VIII G of SMPN 4 Malang. It was found that 80.6% of the students had low writing scores because they rarely practiced writing in class. To them, writing was very boring. They were confused about how they would put their ideas into words and develop them further into paragraph. They thought that writing a paragraph was very difficult because they had limited vocabulary and problems with grammar. So, it took them very long to think about what they wanted to write. In response to the problem, the researcher proposed using the Scaffolding strategy to improve students’ ability in writing a text. The objective of this study was to know how Scaffolding strategy can improve the writing ability of the 8th grade students’ of SMPN 4 Malang. This strategy followed five stages of writing, namely prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. The study used Classroom Action Research where the researcher took the role of the teacher who implemented the Scaffolding strategy. This study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The subjects were 36 students in VIII G class of SMPN 4 Malang. The instruments used in this study was questionnaire, writing test, observation checklist, field notes, and interview guide. There were two criteria of success in this study: (1) 75% of the students gain 10 points in their final writing test and (2) 75% of them participate actively during the implementation of the scaffolding strategy. In the end of the second cycle, all of the students gained 10 up to 38 points and 84.03% of them participated actively in the class. The criteria of success were achieved after the researcher guided the students step by step, gave more explanation on the use of the simple past tense and discussed more about the grammar errors with the students. In conclusion, the implementation of the Scaffolding strategy improved the writing ability of VIII grade students in SMPN 4 Malang. The new concept of scaffolding strategy can bring new atmosphere and motivate the students in writing a good paragraph. Therefore, teacher in general should think of using the strategy in teaching writing as it can be used to improve the students’ writing ability. Besides, the strategy could help the students to be more active in the teaching and learning process. Future researchers who are interested in conducting a similar study are recommended to modify the Scaffolding strategy and implement the strategy to the different levels of the learners and in teaching different skills

    Kota Malang merupakan kota layak huni terbaik ketiga di Indonesia menurut Direktorat Jendral Penataan Ruang. Salah satu indikator tingkat kenyamanan suatu kota adalah ruang terbuka hijau berupa taman di kota Malang. Ketersediaan dan persebaran taman sudah terpenuhi secara baik, namun tingkat daya tarik dan kondisi taman dinilai masih belum optimal. Taman tematik di kota Malang belum memiliki keterkaitan tema dengan bangunan di sekitarnya, serta kesesuaian lingkungan nya. Kota Malang memiliki taman yang belum dikembangkan dengan tema tertentu, sehingga diperlukan alternatif tema yang sesuai dengan karakteristik ketersediaan RTH. Pengembangan Kota Malang terkait dengan konsep taman, namun konsep ini tidak seutuhnya diterapkan tapi ditekankan pada kesan visualnya yang berupa jalan-jalan dengan boulevard, laan, straat, weg dan gang. Penerapan taman kota di Kota Malang dilakukan dengan mengakomodasikan iklim dan karakter lokal. Taman kota merupakan ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) kota yang secara optimal digunakan sebagai areal penghijauan dan berfungsi baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung untuk kehidupan dan kesejahteraan warga kotanya. Secara umum, taman kota dapat berfungsi secara ekologis, estetika, dan sosial. Metode Penelitian dilakukan dengan tahap persiapan, inventarisasi data primer maupun sekunder, evaluasi pada jenis tanaman sesuai syarat ekologinya serta diharapkan dapat memberi masukan dan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan tapak selanjutnya. Kombinasi tanaman dilakukan untuk memaksimalkan fungsi ekologi tanaman pada lanskap jalur hijau jalan Ijen. Elemen-elemen tanaman yang ada di Jalan Ijen yaitu semak, perdu, tanaman penutup tanah, tanaman pergola dan tanaman merambat. Tanaman hias berbunga maupun berdaun juga terdapat di Jalan Ijen yang ditanam pada pot-pot atau ditanam merambati struktur tertentu contohnya merambati tiang gazebo di tengah taman median atau sebagai tanaman pergola. Pada lanskap jalan Ijen Boulevard, jalur hijau jalan pada lanskap jalan disediakan pada jalur tepi dan median. Pada median jalur hijau jalan tersebut, keseluruhan pemilihan jenis tanaman yang ditanam toleran terhadap kondisi lingkungan di Kota Malang. Jumlah tanaman hias yang ditanam sudah memenuhi kriteria dengan perbandingan lebih banyak tanaman hias bunga menunjukkan nilai persentase 53,06% daripada tanaman hias berdaun menunjukkan nilai persentase 46,93% yang berarti median jalur hijau jalan ini telah mendukung tema taman kota Malang.     ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN EMPATI DAN PARENTAL ATTACHMENT DENGAN PERILAKU PROSOSIAL PADA REMAJA Oleh Cut Ma’rifa Nanda Permatasari Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara empati dan parental attachment dengan perilaku prososial pada remaja. Perilaku prososial merupakan tindakan sukarela yang dilakukan individu untuk membantu orang lain tanpa mengharapkan imbalan. Empati dan parental attachment dipandang sebagai dua faktor penting yang dapat memengaruhi kecenderungan remaja dalam berperilaku prososial. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Remaja dengan Rentang Usia 15 – 17 tahun, sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 150 responden dan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data regresi berganda yaitu suatu metode analisis data untuk menguji hipotesis dua atau lebih variabel bebas dengan satu variabel terikat dengan bantuan software JASP 0.18.1 Hasil penelitian menunukan bahwa Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Empati dan Parental Attachment dengan Perilaku Prososial pada remaja. Nilai koefisien kolerasi (R) sebesar 0,880 dengan F hitung sebesar 252.092 dan taraf siginifikasi sebesar 0,001 (p<.001) dengan nilai (R2) 0,774 artinya variabel empati dan parental attachment memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 77,4% terhadap variabel perilaku prososial. Kata Kunci : Perilaku Prososial, Empati, Kelekatan Orangtua ii ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMPATHY AND PARENTAL ATTACHMENT WITH PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOR IN ADOLESCENTS Author Cut Ma’rifa Nanda Permatasari This study aims to determine the relationship between empathy and parental attachment with prosocial behavior in adolescents. Prosocial behavior is a voluntary action taken by individuals to help others without expecting anything in return. Empathy and parental attachment are seen as two important factors that can influence adolescents' tendencies to behave prosocially. The population in this study were adolescents aged 15-17 years, the sample used was 150 respondents and the sampling technique used was simple random sampling. This study used multiple regression data analysis techniques, namely a data analysis method to test the hypothesis of two or more independent variables with one dependent variable with the help of JASP 0.18.1 software. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between Empathy and Parental Attachment with Prosocial Behavior in adolescents. The correlation coefficient (R) value is 0.880 with a calculated F of 252,092 and a significance level of 0.001 (p<.001) with a value (R2) of 0.774, meaning that the empathy and parental attachment variables provide an effective contribution of 77.4% to the prosocial behavior variable. The first advisor NurHastuti, S.S, M. Hum. The second advisor Fajria Noviana, S.S, M. Hum. Poetry is a literary work that has existed since long time ago. There are many types of poetry in Japanese Literature, namely, tanka, haiku, shi, kashi, and another. In this thesis, the type of Japanese poem, haiku and shi have similarity. Both of them have similarity in using natural symbols, but they have different meanings. The purpose of this thesis are to determine the meaning of haiku and shi, and alsothe meaning of the natural symbols in those poems. The methods that are used to analyze the meaning of the natural symbols in the poem are structural method and semiotic method. Structural method is used to analyze the structure of the physical poem and inner structure poem. Analysis of the physical structure consists of diction, imagery, concrete word, and the figure of speech. Analysis of the inner structure consists of theme, tone, atmosphere, feel, and message. This structural method is used to determine the meaning of the whole poem. Semiotic method is used to determine the meaning of the natural symbols in poem. Natural symbols consist of phenomenon of plant, animal phenomenon, phenomenon of water, air phenomenon, phenomenon of soil and other natural symbols. Results of this thesis explain that haiku describes the implicit meaning of the circumstances at the time of the Edo period. Shi explains the feelings of the author. In addition, there are twenty natural symbols that contain in haiku and shi. There are six symbols of the plant phenomena, five animal phenomena, three water phenomena, an air phenomenon, two soil phenomena, and three another natural phenomena.     This research is motivated by how the influence of employee discipline in improving work performance. With a variety of problems that become critical to the lack of discipline of employees in their performance. Where this can be seen from the results of the partial test (Test-t) which shows that employee discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simple linear regression analysis using the SPSS for Windows version 16.0 program obtained a value of 7.533 and a b value of 0.868. From the test results obtained by R is 0.939 or 93.9% which is positive, this number shows that there is a closeness between employee discipline variables towards work performance variables. And the value of R2 (coefficient of determination) is used to influence the influence of independent variables (employee discipline) on changes in the dependent variable (work performance). Paryono, S.T., M.T. &nbsp; Kata Kunci: besi cor nodular, sifat mekanis, kekuatan tarik, kekerasan, heat treatment, conventional heat treatment, novel heat treatment &nbsp; Kemajuan teknologi industri otomotif di Indonesia sangat pesat. Besi cor nodular secara umum semakin dibutuhkan di industri otomotif dalam penggunaannya sebagai bahan baku komponen-komponen otomotif. Lingkup penggunaan besi cor nodular ini khususnya dalam bidang otomotif sangatlah luas karena sifat mekanik besi cor nodular menyerupai sifat mekanik baja, tetapi besi cor nodular tetap memiliki kekurangan dibanding baja. Oleh sebab itu perlu diadakan penelitian untuk meningkatkan sifat mekanik khususnya kekuatan tarik besi cor nodular. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari optimasi kekuatan tarik maksimum besi cor nodular dan nilai kekerasan yang melalui proses conventional dan novel heat treatment dan pada suhu berapa kekuatan tarik tertinggi tersebut dicapai. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan variabel bebas suhu austempering, dan variasi holding time sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kekuatan tarik dan nilai kekerasan. Ada 3 spesimen uji tarik dan 1 spesimen uji kekerasan yang disiapkan untuk raw material, yaitu spesimen yang tidak diberi perlakuan panas sebagai data pembanding. Lalu masing-masing 3 buah spesimen uji tarik dan 1 buah spesimen untuk uji kekerasan untuk setiap perlakuan panas. Perlakuan panas yang diberikan ialah conventional heat treatment dengan holding time austempering selama 60 menit dan 120 menit, dan novel heat treatment dengan holding time austempering selama 60 menit dan 120 menit. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Untuk besi cor nodular yang melalui proses conventional heat treatment terbesar pada suhu austenit 900OC dan suhu austemper 280OC dengan holding time 120 menit yaitu YS = 595,656MPa, UTS = 927,718MPa, ∆L= 13,607%. Untuk besi cor nodular yang melalui proses novel heat treatment terbesar pada suhu austenit 900OC,suhu austemper 1 260OC, dan suhu austemper 2 280OC dengan holding time 60 menit yaitu YS = 630,425MPa, UTS = 1.030,097 MPa, ∆L= 11,667%. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah perlu adanya tindak lanjut penelitian dengan berbagai variasi temperatur austempering yang penulis belum lakukan. Paryono, S.T., M.T. &nbsp; Keywords: nodular cast iron, mechanical properties, tensile strength, hardness, heat treatment, conventional heat treatment, novel heat treatment &nbsp; Technological advances in the Indonesian automotive industry is very rapid. Nodular cast iron in general are increasingly required in the automotive industry in its use as raw material for automotive components. The scope of the use of this nodular cast iron, especially in the automotive sector is very broad due to the mechanical properties of nodular cast iron resembles the mechanical properties of steel, but still has a nodular cast iron deficiency than steel. Therefore there should be a study to improve the mechanical properties especially tensile strength nodular cast iron. This study aimed to explore the optimization of the maximum tensile strength nodular cast iron and hardness values through conventional and novel heat treatment and at what temperature ultimate tensile strength is achieved. This study was an experimental study with independent variables austempering temperature and holding time variation while the dependent variable is the tensile strength and hardness values. There are 3 tensile test specimens and 1 specimen hardness tests are prepared for raw materials, the specimens were not heat-treated as comparable data. Then each of the 3 pieces of tensile test specimens and 1 specimen for hardness test for each heat treatment. Heat treatment is given with conventional heat treatment holding time austempering for 60 minutes and 120 minutes, and with a novel heat treatment holding time austempering for 60 minutes and 120 minutes. Based on the research that has been done shows the following results. For nodular cast iron by conventional heat treatment process at a temperature of austenite biggest 900o C and 280oC with austemper temperature holding time of 120 minutes is YS = 595.656 MPa, UTS = 927.718 MPa, &Delta;L = 13.607%. For nodular cast iron through a novel heat treatment process at a temperature of austenite biggest 900o C, austemper 1 260oC temperature, and temperature of 280oC austemper 2 with holding time of 60 minutes is YS = 630.425 MPa, UTS = 1030.097 MPa, &Delta;L = 11.667%. Suggestions for future research is the need for follow-up studies with austempering temperature variations that the author has done. As well as other tests need to be conducted to determine the mechanical properties of the material through impact testing, and the microstructure and tensile and impact fracture analysis. &nbsp
