«Ovviamente», il Medioevo? Note per una lettura metastorica de «Il nome della rosa» di Umberto Eco
No full textThe essay aims to reflect on the choice of the Middle Ages by Umberto Eco for the setting of his first novel Il nome della rosa (1980). While in the Postille to the novel published by the author in 1983 this choice is described as obvious, it is instead worth focusing on it in order to place it in its historical and cultural context – a wide-ranging medievalist revival in the 1970s – and thus understand its significance as a node in a wider network. Considering specifically what kind of Middle Ages is represented in the text, and relating it to the historical period during which Eco claims to have conceived the book, we see how what seems to interest him is the story of the eternal return of the dynamics of power, the definition of archetypes of power that could constitute a passepartout for the interpretation of reality: historical depth seems here to yield in a certain way to a 'meta-historical' hypothesis aimed at formulating a model of the clash between power and counter-power in the midst of which those who seek to lucidly investigate its mechanisms are bound to succumb.Il saggio si propone di riflettere sulla scelta del Medioevo da parte di Umberto Eco per l’ambientazione de Il nome della rosa (1980). Se nelle Postille al romanzo pubblicate dall’autore nel 1983 questa scelta è raccontata come ovvia, vale invece la pena di concentrarvisi per inserirla nel suo contesto storico e culturale – quello di un ampio revival medievalista degli anni Settanta – e comprenderne dunque il significato in quanto nodo di una rete più ampia. Ragionando poi nello specifico su che genere di Medioevo venga rappresentato nel testo, e mettendolo in relazione con il periodo storico durante il quale Eco afferma di aver concepito il libro, si vede come ciò che sembra interessargli è il racconto dell’eterno ritorno delle dinamiche di potere, la definizione di archetipi del potere che costituiscano dei passepartout per l’interpretazione della realtà: la profondità storica pare cedere in una certa misura a un’ipotesi ‘metastorica’ volta a formulare un modello di scontro tra potere e contropotere nel cui mezzo soccombe chi cerca di indagarne lucidamente i meccanismi

No full textIn the 1986 edition of Wahrheit und Methode Gadamer starts to describe the role of his hermeneutics in terms of «vigilance (Wachheit)», being awake, rather than in those of «task (Aufgabe)». Starting from this point, the author shows that this idea is not a new one in Gadamer's thought: the theme of the Wachheit is taken from the essay Praktischen Wissen, written by Gadamer in 1930 and published in 1985. The re-thinking of the concept of Wachheit influences Gadamer's last works, where phronesis is described like a Wachheit of the practical reason

No full textIl volume presenta una sintesi critica e aggiornata delle diverse concezioni di democrazia che si contrappongono sulla scena politica contemporanea. Quella "liberale" presuppone identità già formate fuori dal processo democratico, che deve limitarsi a garantire il loro libero gioco. La concezione "partecipativa" presume interessi collettivi esterni al sistema democratico, ma propone il coinvolgimento dei cittadini al di là del momento elettorale. Per la concezione "deliberativa" la democrazia coincide con il riconoscimento della fondatezza dell'opinione altrui, nel dibattito pubblico.This volume introduces to the debate on challenges and opportunities for contemporary democracies, presenting also results of empirical research on recent transformations. After developing a typology of conceptions and practices of democracy, the author discusses normative definitions as well as empirical evidences on representative, participatory and deliberative forms. The volume closes with some reflections on e-democracy as well as global democracy

No full textIl presente contributo si propone di analizzare il concetto di stabile organizzazione digitale (detta anche virtuale) alla luce del contesto internazionale ed unionale, nonché la sua traduzione domestica quale risulta dalla lettera f-bis dell’art. 162 del TUIR, non novellata dallo schema di decreto delegato attuativo dell’art. 3 della Legge delega n. 111/2023. Le conclusioni sono nel senso di un auspicato ripensamento del tema da parte del nostro legislatore, tenendo peraltro conto dell’incerta sorte dei lavori sul Pillar 1, e comunque di una revisione della fattispecie di cui all’anzidetta lett. f-bis.The essay is aimed at studying the concept of digital permanent establishment (also known as virtual) in the light of the international and EU context, as well as its domestic translation as resulting from lett. f-bis of the Income Tax Act, not amended in this respect by the bill draft which implements art. 3 of delegation law no. 111/2023. The author concludes by suggesting the legislator, also taking into account the uncertain destiny of Pillar 1 works, to rethink the topic and proposing a new approach to the concept as defined in the above mentioned letter f-bis

Su di essi ha pesato a lungo l’etichetta di scrittore nitido, ordinato, algido. In realtà, sottoponendo la sua vastissima produzione scritta a un esame ravvicinato, emerge la straordinaria capacità nell’uso di modalità linguistiche varie: solennità sintattica e affabilità colloquiale, modi popolari e invenzioni lessicali, descrizioni a forti tinte e sobrietà estrema.
