Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
THE IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP AND WORK MOTIVATION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF NAGARI SUNGAI DUO OFFICIALS AS A STATISTICAL NAGARI IN DHARMASRAYA REGENCY
Get PDFThis study was conducted with the aim of examining the influence of leadership and work motivation on the performance of employees in Nagari Sungai Duo, within the Nagari Statistik program in Dharmasraya Regency. The success of Nagari Statistik, which has become a digital-based one-data nagari, has made it easier for local governments to monitor and decide on policies to be implemented. This success would not have been possible without thorough planning and employee cohesion in supporting the innovation program. Therefore, leadership and motivation are crucial in improving employee performance. This research is based on the indicators of thought from A. Maslow, which focus on Leadership and Work Motivation in relation to Employee Performance. The research findings indicate that there is a strong influence between leadership and motivation on the performance of employees in Nagari Sungai Duo. This can be seen from the 32 respondents who participated as informants, showing their agreement with the statement that leadership and motivation have an impact on performance results. This is further supported by the fact that all variables of leadership and work motivation were found to be valid and reliable in relation to employee performance. Leadership had a t-value of 2.096, and Motivation had a t-value of 2.235 in relation to employee performance in the nagari apparatus. However, the researcher also observed that it is not only leadership and motivation that have an impact, but also work facilities. Since the Nagari Statistik program’s survey implementation was carried out by cadres who directly visited the community, the researcher believes that the available work facilities will also affect the performance results of employees in the execution of the Nagari Statistik program in Dharmasraya Regency
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. The Role of the Inspectorate of West Pasaman Regency in Maintaining Unqualified Opinion (WTP) through the Review of Work Plans and Budgets (RKA)
No full textThe purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the RKA review conducted by the West Pasaman District Inspectorate. In analyzing this research, the researcher used Permendagari Number 10 of 2018 concerning the Review of Development Planning Documents and the Annual Regional Budget, which is in the RKA review stage, where there is a Planning, Implementation and Reporting process. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Interview data collection techniques, documentation and observation. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validation uses source triangulation. The results of the study show that the Inspectorate of West Pasaman Regency has guided Permendagri No. 10 of 2018 in general in implementing the RKA review as one of the supports for obtaining Unqualified opinion (WTP) by West Pasaman Regency, because planning needs to be considered early in anticipation of the occurrence of budgetary waste that can be detrimental to the region. The problems found in the implementation of this RKA review were the preparation of the Review Work Program (PRK) carried out by team members, in addition to that the implementation of the RKA review was not in accordance with the time specified in the Assignment Letter (SPT), due to the lengthy submission of supporting documents review by SKPD. However, there are still advantages to be gained from carrying out the RKA review at the West Pasaman District Inspectorate such as the implementation of Self-Office Training (PKS) in budget savings and the existence of tiered reviews in the implementation and reporting stages

counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
