M. N. Srinivas, the well known sociologist is widely recognised as architect of modern Indian sociology and social anthropology. His publications have been analysed by year, domain, authorship pattern, channels of communication used. Keywords, etc. The results indicate that the papers published by him are of a nature that qualify him to be a 'role model' for the younger generations to emulate.
By the end of 1995, Srinivas had to his credit 144 papers which, included 33 broad papers in sociology and anthropology; 18 papers in social change; 28 papers in village studies; 12 papers on religion; 17 papers on caste and 36 papers of general popular interest. The periods 1958-61 and 1974-77, when Srinivas was 38-41 and 58-61 years old. were his most productive periods with highest publication activity

Review on CDSS implementation with CDA generation and integration for health information exchange in cloud
Successful Deployment of EHR helps to improve patient safety and quality of care, but it has the prerequisite of interoperability between health information exchange at different hospital. The clinical document architecture developed HL7 is core document standard to ensure such interoperability and propagation of this document. Unfortunately, hospitals are reluctant to adopt interoperable HIS due to its deployment cost except for in a handful countries. A problem arises even when more hospital s start using the CDA document format because the data scattered in different documents are hard to manage. CDA document generation and integration Open API service based on cloud computing through which hospitals are enabled to conveniently generate CDA document per patient into a single CDA document and physician and patients can browse the clinical data in chronological order. CDA system of CDA document generation and integration is based on cloud computing and the service is offered in Open API. A clinical decision support system CDSS is a health information technology system that is designed to provide physicians and other health professionals with clinical decision support CDS , that is assistance with clinical decision -making tasks. A working definition has been proposed by Robert Hayward of the Centre for Health Evidence "Clinical decision support systems link health observations with health knowledge to influence health choices by clinicians for improved health. Our system will implement CDSS clinical decision support system it the system looking towards the clinical decision support from existing CDA system provided information. CDSS will help the doctor's do the diagnosis of the patient from the existing CDA system. Some reactions of a-phenyl-1,2,3,5-dithiadiazole
The reactivity of the above compound, hereafter referred to as phenyl dithiadiazole, (PhCN(_2)S(_2))(_2), toward the following transition metal carbonyl species has been investigated: V(CO)(_6), Mo(CO)(_6), W(CO)(_6), Mn(_2)(CO)(_10), Re(_2)(CO)(_10). Fe(CO)(_5), Fe(_2)(CO)(_9), Fe(_3)(CO)(_12), Co(_2)(CO)(_8), CpV(_CO)(_4), [CpMo(CO)(_3)](_2), CpMn(CO)(_3), [CpFe(CO)(_2)](_2), CpCo(CO)(_2) and the following new compounds characterised: Mn(_2)(CO)(_8)PhCN(_2)S(_2), Fe(_2)(CO)(_6)PhCN(_2)S(_2)*, [CpV(PhCN(_2)S(_2)](_2), [CpCo(PhCN(_2)S)](_2) and Cp(_2)Ni(_2)(PhCN(_2)S(_2))*; those marked with an asterisk by X-ray analysis (W Clegg). Reactivity studies of (PhCN(_2)S(_2))(_2) with the following transition metal phosphine and halogeno- compounds were also carried out: MC1(_2) (M=Cr,Mn,Co,Ni,Pd,Cu), FeBr(_2), TiC1(_4)(+Mg), Cp(_2)TiC1(_2)(+Mg) and NiC1(_2)(+Mg). MoC1(_4)(CH(_3)CN)(_2), CuC1, (Ph(_3)P)(_4)M (M=Pd,Pt) and (Ph(_3)P)(_3)RhC1 and the following new complexes prepared: [PhCN(_2)S(_2)](_2)PdC1(_4), [PhCN(_2)S(_2))(_2)CuC1(_2), PhCN(_2)S(_2)(CuC1)(_2). (Ph(_3)P)(_2)M(PhCN(_2)S(_2))(_2) (M=Pd,Pt) and [(Ph(_3)P)Pt(PhCN(_2)S)](_2). Also, the reactivity of phenyl dithiadiazole toward R(_3)P (R=Ph.Me), Ph(_3)As, S(_8), M(_3)NO, N(_3)(^-), Me(_n)NH(_3)(_-n) (n=0-3), MeX (X=I,OSO(_2)F). MeCOBr, Me(_3)SiX (X=C1,Br), HX (X=C1,BF(_4)), NO, N(_2)O(_4), N(_2)F^, (Me(_3)Sn)(_2), AgF(_2) and TCNQ has been studied and gave rise to the following novel species: [PhC(NHMe)(_2)](_2)S(_6), [PhC(NH(_2))(_2)][S(_2)N(_3)S., [PhC(NH)(_2)s(_2)]X (X=C1,BF(_4)), [PhCN(_2)S(_2)]SO(_2)F(_3). [PhCN(_2)S(_2)](_3)F. PhCN(_2)S(_2)F and PhCN(_2)S(_2)(TCNQ)(_2). Finally,[MoC1(_2)(PhCN(_2)S(_2))(thf)](_2) and [Na(C(_12)H(_24)O(_6))]PhCN(_2)S(_2) are reported as are the unusual magnetic properties of some of the above transition-metal complexes
Lithium transport in crown ether polymers
A series of 12-, 13-, and 14-membered crown ether rings bearing polymerisable side-chains has been synthesised. The crown ethers were attached to a methacrylate or acrylate polymerisable group either via a short link (Ring-CH(_2)-O-Polymer) or via a spacer group. Both hydrocarbon and ethylene oxide spacer groups were used, giving structures of the form (Ring-CH(_2)-O-(CH(_2))(_6)-O-Polymer) and (Ring-CH(_2)-O-((CH(_2)CH(_2))(_2)O)-Polymer). The ethylene oxide chain can potentially bind to a Li(^+) dopant ion. The relative Li(+) binding affinity of 12-, 13-, and 14-membered mono- and disubstituted crown ethers has been assessed by variable temperature (^13)c and (^7)Li NMR. The crown ether bearing monomers were polymerised using standard free-radical polymerisation methods to yield amorphous materials whose glass transition temperature (T(_g)) was controlled principally by the nature of the spacer group. On doping with lithium triflate (LiCF(_3)SO(_3)), the polymers exhibit high ionic conductivity. The conductivity was primarily dependent on polymer T(_g), but was also found to be higher for 12-crown-4 based systems than for 13-crown-4 and 14-crown-4 based analogues. This behaviour was consistent with the results of the NMR studies, which showed that Li(^+) exchange occurs more readily between 12-crown-4 rings than 13- or 14-crown-4 rings. The NMR studies also showed that 12-crown-4 systems have a higher tendency to form 2:1 (ring : Li(^+)) complexes. Within a polymer matrix, the presence of 2:1 complexes allows Li(^+) migration via an association-disassociation mechanism, avoiding the high energy intermediate state of a free or weakly bound Li(^+) ion. The greater encapsulation provided by 2:1 complexation may also aid in ion pair separation
Studies on Bis(imido) molybdenum complexes containing unsaturated hydrocarbon ligands
This thesis describes the synthesis and characterisation of molybdenum bis(imido) complexes containing unsaturated hydrocarbon ligands. A principal objective of the work was to examine the effect of various imido substituents on the coordination number of the complex and the orientations adopted by olefin and acetylene ligands. Chapter One highlights areas of transition metal chemistry relevant to the thesis, with particular emphasis on the psuedo-isolobal analogy between cyclopentadienyl and imido ligands, A convenient one-pot synthesis of molybdenum bis(imido) complexes of the type Mo(NR)(NR')Cl(_2).DME (R=R'=l-adamantyl, 2-t- BUC(_6)H(_4); R=2,6-i-Pr(_2)C(_6)H(_3), R'=t-Bu) is described in Chapter Two. Mo(N-l- adamantyl)(O)Cl(_2).DME has been synthesised, and its structure determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.- The preparation of olefin complexes Mo(NR)(NR')(C(_2)H(_4))(PMe(_3))n (R=R'=l-adamantyl, n=l; R=R'=2-t-BuC(_6)H(_4), n=2; R=2,6-i-Pr(_2)C(_6)H(_3), R'=t- Bu, n=l) is outlined in Chapter Three. Structural information derived from NMR data has allowed comparison with metallocene-like olefin adducts. Chapter Four describes the synthesis of complexes containing σ-bound phenyl ligands (Mo(NR)(NR')(σ-C(_6)H(_5))(PMe(_3)) (R=R'=l-adamantyl, 2-t-BuC(_6)H(_4); R=2,6-i-Pr(_2)C(_6)H(_3), R'=t-Bu)) as potential precursors to benzyne complexes. Chapter Five describes the preparation of diphenylacetylene complexes Mo(NR)(NR')(PhC=CPh)(PMe(_3)), structural information derived from NMR data allows comparison with previously known metallocene-like acetylene complexes. Scientometric Portrait of Homi Jehangir Bhabha: The Father of Indian Nuclear Research Programme
Quantitative and qualitative analysis with graphic representation of the publication productivity of a scientist facilitates easy and clear perception about the work of a scientist. Bhabha’s scientific work spanned over more than three decades (1933-1967) during which he published 104 publications, which could be classified into nine fields: Interaction of Radiation with Matter (4), Quantum Electrodynamics (5), Mathematical Physics (2), Cosmic Ray Physics (18), Elementary Particle Physics (14), Field Theory (15), General Physics (2), Nuclear Physics (4) and General (40). The highest number of publications (6) were published in 1941, 1945 and 1964 respectively. The average number of publications published per year was 3.05. His productivity coefficient was 0.05 which is a clear indicates that his publication productivity was quite consistent throughout his scientific career. He was single author in 79 of his publications and the main author in 24 publications indicates that he always preferred to work himself and lead the team as ‘mentor’. Bhabha had 22 collaborators during the period. Team of research collaborators working with a successful scientist documents the sociological aspect of history of science while generating knowledge by a leader in a domain.
Bhabha became a citable author in 1937. Bhabha received 1211 citations to his 30 publications out of 104 publications. Out of 104, 74 publications did not receive any citations. Out of 74 publications, 40 publications dealt subjects mainly of general interest. Bhabha’s 86.66 percent of cited publications received their first citations within four years of their publication indicates that his publications were noticed immediately and had direct impact among the fellow researchers working all over the world. His overall citation rate was 11.64 per cited publication. The highest citations 389 were received to the domain ‘Cosmic ray physics’. The highest number of citations received were 45 in 1938. His self-citations were only 24 (1.98%) and citations by others were 1187 (98.02%). The highest self citations were six in 1946. Bhabha’s mean diachronous self-citation rate was 1.98. The highest citation rate 28.4 was to the domain ‘Quantum electrodynamics. His single authored publications have received the highest number 863 (71.26%) of citations. Bhabha’s five publications have been cited more than 100 times each. His publications have been cited by the authors working in various diverse fields like nuclear physics, mathematical physics, instrumentation, optics, geophysics and geochemistry, condensed matter physics, applied physics, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering etc., indicating a very diverse influence and impact of Bhabha’s publications. Bhabha’s publications have also been cited by the Nobel laureates like V. L. Ginzberg, Wolfgang Pauli, H. A. Bethe, M. Born, W. Bothe, E. P. Wigner, H. Yukawa, P. M. S. Blackett and C. N. Yang which is an indication of his originality of ideas and high quality of publications

Produção/reprodução e transformação do comportamento alcoolista nos contextos culturais da família e do trabalho /
Dissertação (Mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciências da Saúde.A presente dissertação de mestrado trata de uma investigação realizada a partir dos resultados obtidos na Prática Assistencial, quando foi oferecida, a três famílias de servidores alcoolistas, uma modalidade de assistência de enfermagem pautada na Teoria Sistêmica de Família e na Teoria de Leininger. Buscando ampliar e complementar os dados obtidos, foi elaborado um projeto que deu origem a este estudo, o qual tem por objetivos: analisar as influências do contexto do trabalho na produção/reprodução e transformação do comportamento alcoolista; analisar os nexos entre a produção/reprodução e transformação do comportamento alcoolista no contexto do trabalho e da família e propor alternativas para a transformação do comportamento alcoolista no trabalho, mediante as potencialidades identificadas na família e no trabalho. Este é um estudo exploratório, qualitativo, realizado com três funcionários alcoolistas da UFSM (Universidade Federal de Santa Maria) vinculados às famílias anteriormente pesquisadas. A metodologia constitui-se na análise de fichas funcionais, observação participante no ambiente de trabalho e entrevista com chefias, quando necessário. Após a etapa de coleta de dados, foi possível analisar os nexos entre o comportamento alcoolista na família e o comportamento alcoolista no trabalho. Identificar a produção/reprodução do comportamento alcoolista no contexto do trabalho viabilizou a sinalização de uma proposta de transformação, para a qual aponto indicadores de mudanças; e também reconheço a necessidade de espaços para desenvolver um trabalho integrado entre os serviços que tratam o alcoolismo, principalmente ao nível institucional, no qual me incluo, na tentativa de buscar outras maneiras de investir em mudanças gradativas do comportamento alcoolista
