A Superlinearly Convergent O(...)-Iteration Algorithm for Linear Programming
No full textIn this note we consider a large step modification of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye O( p nL) predictor-corrector interior-point algorithm for linear programming. We demonstrate that the modified algorithm maintains its O( p nL)-iteration complexity, while exhibiting superlinear convergence for general problems and quadratic convergence for nondegenerate problems. To our knowledge, this is the first construction of a superlinearly convergent algorithm with O( p nL)-iteration complexity. Sichukä Jiakädö (nenê, vem tomar banho): uma análise de um rito de proteção Ye kuana e da tentativa de apropriação no ritual do batismo católico

Busca compreender a dinâmica dos encontros culturais; superar a velha leitura da sociedade ocidental e indígena como totalidades fechadas, saindo do binarismo, e identificar o sincretismo religioso nos ritos Sichukä Jiakädö e Batismo Inculturado. Com a finalidade de compreender a dinâmica interna do processo de construção sincrética na sociedade Ye kuana, analisa dois ritos: Sichukä Jiakädö e Batismo Inculturado. A interculturalidade é uma realidade que acompanha os Ye kuana ao longo de sua história, e o contato com mundos diferentes fez da sociedade Ye kuana, uma sociedade híbrida. Essa realidade suscitou as seguintes questões: Por meio de qual representação simbólica os Ye kuana interpretaram o contato? A introdução de elementos criollos na sociedade Ye kuana representa perda de identidade ou ye kuanização de elementos criollos? No contato com o catolicismo, quais elementos estão sendo intercambiados? Apoiada na obra Pacificando do branco; cosmologia do contato no Norte-Amazônico, organizada por Albert Bruce e Alcida Rita Ramos, e na obra Deus na aldeia; missionários e mediação cultural, organizada por Paula Montero, procura comprovar que os Ye kuana interpretaram o contato a partir da relação de oposição entre Wanadi e Odo sha; que os elementos criollos presentes na sociedade Ye kuana representam a ye kuanização de elementos criollos; que o rito Sichukä Jiakädö e o rito do Batismo Inculturado expressam o processo de apropriação simbólica entre tradição Ye kuana e catolicismo. Como recurso metodológico, traça um caminho a meio termo entre Lévi-Strauss e Geertz; privilegia os depoimentos dos Ye kuana e das missionárias, como também os anos de convivência que a autora teve com os Ye kuana. A partir do desenvolvimento dos capítulos, conclui-se que o hibridismo presente na sociedade Ye kuana foi construído a partir de dois movimentos: de dentro para fora (ye kuanização) e de fora para dentro (inculturação)This current essay investigates in what directions are being built the cultural exchanges between Ye kuana people, Catholicism and Venezuelan society. Trying to understand the dynamics of cultural encounters, to surpass the old comprehension of the Western and Indigenous societies as closed totalities that come out the binarism and to identify the religious syncretism in the Sichukä Jiakädö and incultureted Baptism rites. With the aim of understanding the internal dynamics of the syncretics construction process on the Ye kuana society, it analyzes two rites: Sichukä Jiakädö and the Incultureted Baptism. The interculturality is a reality that accompanies the Ye kuana through their history and the contact with different worlds have made the Ye kuana society a hybrid society. The following questions arose from his reality: On what symbolic representations the Ye kuana interpreted the contact? The introduction of criollo elements in the Ye kuana society represents the loss of identity or ye kuanization of criollo elements? In contact with the Catholicism which elements are being exchanged? Based on the book Pacificando do branco. Cosmologia do contato no Norte-Amazônico, organized by Albert Bruce and Alcida Rita Ramos and the book Deus na aldeia. Missionários e mediação cultural, organized by Paula Montero, it tries to prove that the Ye kuana interpreted the contact on the opposing relationship between Wanadi and Odo sha; the criollo elements that exist on the Ye kuana society represent the ye kuanization of the criollo elements; the Sichukä Jiakädö rite and the Incultureted Baptism rite express the process of symbolic appropriation between Ye kuana tradition and Catholicism. As methodological resource it makes a midway between Levi-Straus and Geertz; emphasizing Ye kuana and missionary sisters testimonials as well as the years the author has experienced with the Ye kuana. Development of scientific school of transport mechanics: artistic legacy of YE. P. Blokhin
Get PDFPurpose. Development of domestic and global transport science occurred due to the contributions of many scientists and practicing engineers. The purpose of our study is the analysis of scientific documentary legacy of YE. P. Blokhin, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan and identifying his place and role in the development of modern railway transport. Methodology. Application of problem-chronological, comparative, descriptive historical methods of research, systematization and analysis of scientific papers allowed the authors to submit the actual history of the railway transport development (1950-2013) through the prism of YE. P. Blokhin scientific activity. We identified 6 main periods of his scientific activity. Findings. It was found out that the overall intellectual plant of the scientist includes 555 scientific papers (written personally and co-authored) in domestic and foreign publications on key issues of mechanics and operation of railway rolling stock. Artistic legacy of YE. P. Blokhin includes monographs, articles, reports, patents, author certificate, etc. It was found that the epistolary legacy of scientist, archive materials, his personal diaries, reference list of works of his students and followers are almost unexplored. Originality. Authors of the work for the first time in the history of science and technology of Ukraine conducted a complex study of the scientific legacy of YE. P. Blokhin in the context of railway transport. It is proved that the ideas, research, scientific works, implemented projects, numerous students and followers of YE. P. Blokhin are important factors, confirming a significant contribution of the scientist to the global engineering and transport science. Practical value. The work can be used to create historiographical papers and textbooks, to study the issues of formation and development of the scientific school for transport mechanics and university science ofUkraine in the railway branch, in the course of lectures on the subjects «History of railway transport development» and «Introduction to the profession»

No full textO,O-Dimethylthiophosphonosulfenyl bromide (DMTPSB) in combination with silver triflate provides a powerful thiophilic promoter system. Both "armed" and "disarmed" thioglycoside glycosyl donors can be activated to form glycosidic linkages efficiently by the pre-activation protocol. CORRECTION OF DESTRUCTIVE CHANGES IN CONNECTIVE TISSUES OF DIFFERENT ORGANS DURING CHRONIC NITRATE AND FLUORIDE INTOXICATION BY NANOSIZED SILICA OXIDE

Abstract
This experiment carried on 35 white Wistar rats aimed at studying the markers of connective tissue destruction during chronic nitrate-fluoride intoxication and its correction by nanosized silica oxide. It has been found out that co-administration of sodium fluoride (10 mg/kg body weight) and sodium nitrate (500 mg/kg of body weight) for 30 days increases the total content of glycosaminoglycans (GAG), heparin/heparan and keratan/dermatan fractions, as well as content of chondroitin fraction and concentration of L-oxyproline in the gastric mucosa. The content of N-acetylneuraminic acid (NANA), free L-oxyproline and gexuronic acids are increased in femoral bone and lumbar vertebrae. These changes point to depolymerization of componets of organic connective tissues matrix (collagen, glycoproteins, proteoglycans). Application of nanosized silica oxide suspension under conditions of chronic nitrate-fluoride intoxication reduces the total GAG content, keratan / dermatane fraction ratio, chondroitin fraction and L-oxyproline concentration in the gastric mucosa. We also observed a decrease in free L-oxyproline concentration, gexuronic acids and NANA content in femoral bone and vertebrae. The results allowed us to conclude that chronic nitrate-fluoride intoxication leads to the destruction of connective tissue components in different organs (gastric mucous membrane, femoral bones and vertebrae). Usage of nanosized silica oxide under conditions of chronic nitrate-fluoride intoxication reduces the destruction of connective tissue in these structures.

No full textA new approach for the synthesis of phenolic glycosides via aromatic O-glycosylation of 1,2-anhydrosugar and aryl boronic acids was disclosed. This method is characterized by the use of aryl boronic acid as the aryl source and produces phenolic glycosides in a stereoselective manner. This reaction provides an alternative approach to the synthesis of phenolic glycosides. It also represents a new application of aryl boronic acids as versatile reagents in organic synthesis. Quadratic Harmonic Morphisms and O-Systems
No full textWe introduce O-systems (Definition 3.1) of orthogonal transformations of R m , and establish 1 \Gamma 1 correspondences both between equivalence classes of Clifford systems and that of O-systems, and between Osystems and orthogonal multiplications of the form ¯ : R n \Theta R m \Gamma! R m , which allow us to solve the existence problems both for O-systems and for umbilical quadratic harmonic morphisms (Theorems 4.4 and 4.5) simultaneously. The existence problem for general quadratic harmonic morphisms is then solved (Theorem 4.9) by the Splitting Lemma (Lemma 4.7). We also study properties (see, e.g., Theorems 5.2 and 5.11) possessed by all quadratic harmonic morphisms for fixed pairs of domain and range spaces (x5).
