The Russian Cossacks and the Problem of Identity with the Question: Who Are We?
Introduction. On August 29, 2013, director of the Department of State National Policy in the Sphere of Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Ministry of Regional Development A. Zhuravskiy answered to the question “Are Cossacks a People?” in the interview with the Cossack Information Centre the following: “The issue of Cossack identity is associated with the success of the state policy of the Russian Federation in relation to the Russian Cossacks. Only specific and effective work on implementing existing conceptual and strategic documents can help overcome the crisis of Cossack identity.” In the conditions of revival of the Russian Cossacks in the 1990s – 2000s, the issue of its identity becomes relevant. The fact is that identity continues to be the basis in solving many problems of arranging the Cossacks as its consolidating component.
Methods and materials. The article is based on the principle of historicism, balance in reflecting the characteristics of the Russian Cossacks, chronological sequence of presentation, objectivism. The main source base, first of all, are the regulatory legal acts of the 1990s and the subsequent time. The author was directly involved in developing many of these legal acts at the governmental level.
Analysis. Obviously, in the 1990s – 2000s, the problem of identity in modern conditions acquired a global character. The author not coincidentally adresses to the international practice as applied to other peoples. In this connection, the author pays attention to the interpretation of the issue according to the “power and the Cossacks” vector, which is confirmed by the specific material set forth, especially on the participation of Cossacks in modern life in Russia. Despite the fact that much has already been set forth in terms of social, cultural identity as its most accessible types, nevertheless, there is a particular need to study such types of identity as national and territorial ones, which in the modern framework determine the position of the Cossacks in society, its relation to peoples who lived for centuries or jointly. Studying territorial identity will be valuable as well due to the fact that the land for a Cossack’s household remained a priority problem in terms of household management and his military service.
Results. Probably, these three dimensions: success of the economic sector, conceptuality in presentation, consideration of the strategy verified by life experience, all sorts of practices will form a solid basis for further studying the problem of the Cossack identity. This will determine the study of other existing types of identity in relation to the Russian Cossacks. At all times, the Cossacks remained adherents of the religion of identity, patriotism, military service, etc. Knowledge of the problem of identity in relation to the Russian Cossacks expands the range of knowledge of society on the history of the Cossacks, both in the past and in the conditions of modernity
The Generalizing Work on History and Culture of the Cossacks (Book Review: Essays on the History and Culture of the Cossacks of Southern Russia: Collective Monograph [Text] / ed. by G. G. Matishov, I. O. Tyumentsev ; Southern Scientic Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Volgograd Branch of Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration”. – Volgograd : Izd-vo Volgogradskogo Filiala FGBOU VPO RANKhiGS, 2014. – 624 p.)
This article represents a review of the collective monograph “Essays on the history and culture of the Cossacks of Southern Russia”, published in 2014 under the auspices of the Southern Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Volgograd branch of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The review provides a critical analysis of the material in the collective monograph on the problems of studying the history and culture of the Cossacks. The author notes that the revival of Cossacks that began in the 1990s, not only drew attention to the Cossack problem in modern Russia, but also stimulated scientific and public interest in the history and culture of the Cossacks.
Russian Cossacks have rich past and its culture is colorful and specific, its role in the history of Russia is significant. Issues of origin and development of the Cossacks, their place among the peoples of Russia, the specificity of cultural practices are constantly causing great interest for researchers. All this has led scientistsspecialists in the history and culture of the Cossacks to the idea of the creation of this scientific work, which has become a generalization of accumulated research experience on the most important issues of the Cossacks’ historical existence. The authors of the monograph limited their research by Southern Russia because of the complexity of creating general work on all Cossack troops which have historically existed in the Russian state and had sometimes very great cultural differences and special historical destiny. The authors made a very successful attempt to highlight the main problematic aspects of the history and culture of the Cossacks. The genre of essay chosen for creating a collective monograph, has allowed not only to identify the most relevant topics of the Cossack history and culture, but also to consider them in relation and development. Each essay contains material that allows to identify the most important problems of different historical periods and various Cossack communities. Together, we get an idea not only about the history of the Cossacks, but also on the results of professional scientific developments in this area. Essays on the history and culture of the Cossacks of Southern Russia – work in which the efforts of its sponsors were systematically analyzed and the main existing today information and research materials on the history and culture of the Cossacks of Southern Russia were compiled into a single concept
Stationary solitary and kink solutions in the helicoidal Peyrard-Bishop model of DNA molecule
We study nonlinear dynamics of the DNA molecule relying on a helicoidal Peyrard-Bishop model. We look for traveling wave solutions and show that a continuum approximation brings about kink solitons moving along the chain. This statement is supported by the numerical solution of a relevant dynamical equation of motion. Finally, we argue that an existence of both kinks and localized modulated solitons (breathers) could be a useful tool to describe DNA-RNA transcription. © 2019 Author(s)
Demodulated standing solitary wave and DNA-RNA transcription
Nonlinear dynamics of DNA molecule at segments where DNA-RNA transcription occurs is studied. Our basic idea is that the solitary wave, moving along the chain, transforms into a demodulated one at these segments. The second idea is that the wave becomes a standing one due to interaction with DNA surrounding, e.g., RNA polymerase molecules. We explain why this is biologically convenient and show that our results match the experimental ones. In addition, we suggest how to experimentally determine crucial constant describing covalent bonds within DNA. © 2018 Author(s)

Purpose: In the article there has substantiated the author’s research viewpoint on understanding the essence of the notions of «innovation», «innovative model of development», specified the role and importance of innovation development of modern economic education in Ukraine as an important factor of economic socialization of people, as a powerful factor in improving the quality of human capital. Methods: In the article there has been used the method of terminological analysis to determine the essential content of the notions «innovation», «innovative model of development», «business simulation in higher economic education»; the observational methods (incorporated and indirect surveillance) to typify the experience of training of future specialists in Economics in higher domestic economic institutions, including the Academician Yuriy Bugay International Scientific and Technical University (MNTU). Results: The author suggested the definition of essence of the meaning of the notion «business simulation in higher economic education» being an innovative computer programs that simulate the real economic environment and enable the future professionals in the sphere of economy to acquire knowledge and skills in doing entrepreneurship and business so that they could practically apply them in both the process of virtual learning and in the real professional activity. The performed in article examination of the experience of training of future specialists majoring in Economics in the domestic tertiary economic institutions, including the Academician Yuriy Bugay International Scientific and Technical University (MNTU), enabled the author to rationalize the actuality of introducing business simulations in the educational process of higher economic establishments. According to the author’s opinion, the introduction of online programs in the educational process of higher educational institutions of Ukraine enables not only the creation of highly automated working environment of the future specialist-economist, but it is promising in terms of implementing innovative model of economic education for it provides real opportunities to students at the study stage at the higher economic educational institutions to have access to the latest innovative information in any form (text, graphics, audio, video, images, etc.). Discussion: There has been substantiated that the business simulation being an innovative method of teaching economics in higher economic education establishments creates a situation which is close to the real settings of professional activity, and, at the same time, the environment of the simulation has been modeled with consideration of real market rules (diminishing returns, supply and demand, additional cost competition, «outflow» of capital, etc.).
Abstract : This dissertation presents the analysis as the main axis of the interactive potential of digital books in ePub format accessed from tablets devices. Initially we present a literature review about the concepts of digital book and its context in view of the current scenario of the editorial system. Later, we establish the relation of the navigation and the graphic interface of digital books in ePub format with hypermediatic resources of text, sound, image, animation and video. As delimitation of the research, the study proposes a deepening in the potential interaction of digital book in works of historical-regional stamp by considering this genre of publication as extremely relevant in the social context, and believe that with the use of hypermedia in the digital book records and historical narratives may have an even greater emphasis and provide a more immersive interaction from readers who will be able to read, see and hear the historical-regional events reported in these works. The research method used includes, after the step of literature review, the project and evaluation of the interaction of a historical-regional book in ePub format. That book was developed in Hypermedia Laboratory of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and available for evaluation on a tablet device. The tests for interaction performed, combined with the techniques of observation and interviews, aimed to verify the specifics of the interaction of users with hypermedia elements presented in the work. As results, it was noticed that the elements of hypermedia inserted into historical-regional books in ePub format potentiate the level of interactivity and ensure a more realistic comprehension of the information contained in the work. Through interaction assay was found that the exploitation of video resources, showing scenes of historical events contained in the work, and the relationship between text and corresponding audio to the testimony of oral sources cited by the author of the book, aroused interest and enjoyment of the participants. The results will help to guide future research about the use of hypermedia in digital books and enhance the inclusion of interactive features in works of historical-regional stamp
O método mostrou-se linear (r> 0,99), exato (98,8 - 101,2%) e preciso (DPRAbstract : Venlafaxine hydrochloride (VEN) is a potent serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor effective in treatment of the depression disease and generalized anxiety disorder. The present work included the characterization of venlafaxine hydrochloride, development and validation of a method to quantify the drug in extended-release capsules by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), as well as the study of different crystalline forms of venlafaxine hydrochloride, evaluation of the presence of different polymorphs in raw materials and development and validation of a quantification method for polymorphic Forms 1 and 2 by X-ray diffraction using the Rietveld refinement. The HPLC method was developed, validated and successfully applied in dissolution tests. The method was linear (r> 0.99), accurate (98.8 to 101.2%) and precise (RSD< 0.9%). The drug was characterized by various analytical techniques, such as thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared (IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), demonstrating the physicochemical properties of the drug. In addition, compatibility studies were performed between the drug and some excipients like talc, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, starch and lactose monohydrate. No evidence of interaction or incompatibility in the solid state was observed by DSC and DRIFT. Four raw materials from different suppliers were characterized using the analytical techniques mentioned above, and it was found that two raw materials corresponded to VEN Form 1, while the other two were mixtures of Forms 1 and 2. Also, the characterization of the polymorphic Forms 1 and 2, which were obtained from differents crystallization methods, was carried out. A new polymorphic form, Form 3, obtained from the "melted" of Form 2 was isolated, characterized and showed to be different from those deposited at the Cambridge Crystallographic Database. The characterization of the three polymorphs was performed by DRXP, DRIFT, DSC, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, hot stage microscopy, variable temperature X-ray powder diffraction measurements, and solubility. VEN polymorphic thermodynamic relationship was performed and a monotropic relationship between Forms 1 and 3 was found, and the Form 3 demonstrates to be the most stable polymorphic form. A method for polymorphic phases quantification of the Form 1 and 2 by XRPD using Rietveld refinement was developed and then validated according to ICH and FDA guidelines. It was considered linear in the range from 4.86 to 97.06% (w/w Form 2/Form 1), precise and accurate, with detection of limits of 1.16% and quantitation of 3.50%
