Demir toksisitesinde alfa tokoferolün etkisi
Bu tez, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Biilimsel Araştırma Projesi Birimi tarafından desteklenen, 2006-SBE-005 nolu proje kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu tezin yapılmasına Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıbbi Etik Kurulu tarafından onay verilmiştir (2006/41).Biyolojik sistemlerdeki serbest radikallerin oluşum ve metabolizmasında demir önemli bileşendir. Demir yüklemesi metale bağlı en yaygın toksisitelerden biridir. Karaciğerde demir birikimi lipit peroksidasyonuna yol açar. Membran fosfolipitleri peroksidatif bozunmaya uğradıklarında malondialdehit meydana gelir. E vitamini demire bağlı hasarın çoğunu önleyebilir. Bu çalışmada demir yüklemesinin karaciğerde yaratığı oksidatif stres ve E vitamininin oksidatif strese etkisi araştırılmıştır. Elli adet Wistar rat rasgele beş gruba ayrılmıştır. Gruplardan ikisi haftada 3 doz olacak şekilde, 6 doz 100 mg /kg demir dekstran (i.p.) almıştır. Bu iki gruptan biri altı hafta süreyle her gün 200 mg/kg alfa tokoferol asetat (i.p.) almıştır. Diğer iki grup 6 hafta süreyle karbonil demir (%2,5 w/w) ilaveli diyet ile beslenmiştir. Bu iki gruptan biri altı hafta süreyle her gün 200 mg/kg alfa tokoferol asetat (i.p.) almıştır. Kontrol gurubu 6 hafta süreyle normal diyet almıştır. Her iki yolla demir yüklemesi kontrole göre karaciğer MDA düzeylerinde artışa (p0.05), GSH düzeylerinde azalmaya (p0.05) neden oldu. Demir dekstran alan ratlarda karbonil demir alan ratlara kıyasla daha yüksek MDA düzeyleri gözlendi (p0.05). Sonuç olarak, demir yüklemesinin lipit peroksidasyonunu arttırdığına ve vitamin E'nin demirin neden olduğu oksidatif streste koruyucu olabileceğine karar verilmiştir.Iron is a major component in the production and metabolism of free radicals in biological systems. Iron overload is one of the most common metal related toxicity. Iron deposition in liver leads to peroxidation of lipits. Malondialdehyde is formed when membrane phospholipits undergo peroxidative decomposition. Vitamin E can prevent the majority of iron related damage. In this study oxidative stress which is caused by iron overload in liver and the effect of alpha tocopherol on oxidative stress have been evaluated in rats. 50 Wistar rats were distributed in five groups randomly. Two groups received 6 doses (three doses per week) 100 mg/kg each iron-dextran (i.p.). One of these groups received daily 200 mg/kg each alpha tocopherol acetate (i.p.) for six weeks. The other two groups were fed diets supplemented carbonyl iron (2,5% w/w) for six weeks. One of these groups received daily 200 mg/kg each alpha tocopherol acetate (i.p.) for six weeks. Control group was fed normal diet for six weeks. In the both way, iron overload led to increase MDA levels (p0.05) and decrease GSH levels (p0.05) in liver compared with control rats. Higher MDA level was observed in iron-dextran-treated rats compared to carbonyl iron treated rats (p0.05). In conclusion, it was decided that iron overload leads to increase in lipid peroxidation and vitamin E can give protection against oxidative stress caused by iron

Demir Kapija has a land with varieties of grapevines, which has contributed to the construction of more wineries in the area.
The beauties of the unique Demir Kapija gorge represent a special attraction for tourists and passers-by who admire this magnificent creation of nature. Three rivers flow in the area of Demir Kapija: Vardar, Doshnica and Boshava. Authentic Demir Kapija nature provides ideal conditions for developing and practicing outdoor sports such as mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking and canoeing. This place is also a challenge for the speleologists who come here to explore the two local caves - Bela Voda and Zmejovec. Demir Kapija also houses a wine museum, the only one of its kind in our country, and has an archeological and wine gallery.
Tourism is an important economic branch that contributes to greater economic growth and development of a municipality. Taking into account the natural potentials of Demir Kapija municipality, the local self-government continuously strives and works to promote and develop wine and adventure tourism. For this purpose, every year traditionally organized by the municipality of Demir Kapija, cultural and sports events (Tradition Week - St. Trifun, International Outdoor Festival) are held which are attractive for both domestic and foreign tourists.
The local self-government of Demir Kapija recognizes these potentials for tourism development, which as an important economic branch will greatly contribute to the improvement of local economic development and therefore adopts this Tourism Development Strategy in the municipality of Demir Kapija. Strategic planning will enable all stakeholders to properly target and utilize Demir Kapija's branding potential in a recognizable wine and adventure destination
Demir eksikliği ile demir-çinko eksikliğinde hücresel bağışıklık
Ankara üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Has talıkları Kliniğinde saf demir eksikliği ile demir ve çinko eksikliği tanısı alan, 10' u erkek, 20' si kız, yaşları 7 ay-20 yaş arasında değişen 30 hastada bir bölüm hücresel bağışıklık parametresi incelendi. Hastaların 17' sinde saf demir eksikliği, 13' ünde demir ve çinko eksikliği vardı. Sağlıklı 10 çocuk da kontrol grubu olarak incelendi. Bu amaçla hastalarda ve kont rol grubunda total lenfosit sayıları, E-rozet yüzdeleri ve geç aşırı duyarlık deri testlerine (PPD,DNCB) yanıtları incelendi. Total lenfosit sayılarının, hasta gruplarında kritik sınır olan 1200* ün altına düşmediği görüldü. Saf demir eksik liği grubunda kontrollere oranla hafif bir düşüklük saptanma sına karşın bunun hastaların yaş dağılımından ileri geldiği düşünüldü. E-rozet yüzdeleri saf demir eksikliği grubunda % 34.05*2.93, demir ve çinko eksikliği grubunda % 25.44+1.52, kontrol grubunda ise % 44.25 t- 1.61 olarak, belirlendi. Demir-çinko eksikliği grubunun E-rozet oranları hem saf demir eksikliği hem de kont- -68- -69- rol grubundan p<0.01 düzeyinde düşük bulunurken, saf demir eksikliği grubunun oranı, kontrol grubuna göre p<0.05 düze yinde düşük olarak saptandı. Geç aşırı duyarlık testlerinde ise demir eksikliği grubu ile demir ve çinko eksikliği grubunun PPD ve DNCB'ye deri ya nıtlarında istatistik olarak anlamlı bir fark saptanamazken, her iki hasta grubunun yanıtlarının da kontrollere oranla önemli ölçüde düşüklük gösterdiği belirlendi (p<0.01). DNCB'ye ya nıtlar tek başına değerlendirildiğinde ise demir-çinko eksik liği olan hastaların demir eksikliği grubuna oranla anlamlı olarak (p<0.01) düşüklük gösterdiği görüldü. Sonuç olarak, inceleyebildiğimiz parametrelerde, hem demir, hem de demir-çinko eksikliğinin hücresel bağışıklığı olumsuz yönde etkiledikleri, demir-çinko eksikliği durumunda bu olumsuz etkinin daha büyük oranda olduğu belirlendi
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
SAP SOLUTIONS FOR SPORTS
Tema diplomskega projekta so rešitve podjetja SAP v športni panogi. Na začetku diplomskega projekta so predstavljene rešitve ERP in njihov razvoj, kot osnove poslovnih rešitev. V nadaljevanju je predstavljeno podjetje SAP skozi zgodovinski razvoj in trendi na področju njihovih rešitev. Sledi podrobna analiza rešitev podjetja SAP za šport. Rešitve so razdeljene v tri kategorije in sicer trženje in sodelovanje, prodaja in poslovanje ter učinek ekipe. V treh kategorijah je predstavljeno 16 različnih rešitev. Analizira je tudi rešitev SAP Sports One, ki je najboljša in najsodobnejše rešitev podjetja SAP za športno panogo. Za konec sta prikazana dva primera iz prakse. Liga NBA in Nemška nogometna zveza sta se odločila za rešitve podjetja in SAP in dosegla odlične rezultate.The topic of the diploma project is SAP solutions for sports. ERP solutions are base of business solutions and their development is presented at the beginning of the diploma project. Afterwards company SAP is presented together with theirs historical development and solution spotlights. Solutions for sports are next part of the diploma project. They are divided into three groups: Marketing and Engagement, Sales and Commerce and Team Performance. 16 different solutions are presented in these three categories. SAP Sports One is the best and the latest solution for sports and it is also analyzed. At the end you can find two case studies. NBA and German Football Association chose SAP solutions and achieved great results
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

This work is about the roles of Author, Publisher and Bookseller in Book development in
Nigeria. The paper started by delving into the history of Book Publishing in Nigeria after
which it proceeded by defining who an author, a publisher, and a bookseller is and
expatiated on the indispensable roles of these key actors in Nigerian Book Industry and in
the emerging Information Society. Furthermore, the various constraints to book
development were identified while the paper advised on how the Book Industry can be
further promoted in Nigeria. However, the paper concluded and made recommendations
on how the Book sector can help in enhancing scholarship in the country
Exploiting Array Geometry for Reduced-Subspace Channel Estimation in RIS-Aided Communications
A reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) can be used to improve the channel
gain between a base station (BS) and user equipment (UE), but only if its
reflecting elements are configured properly. This requires accurate estimation
of the cascaded channel from the UE to the BS through each RIS element. If the
channel structure is not exploited, pilot sequences of length must be used,
which is a major practical challenge since is typically at the order of
hundreds. To address this problem without requiring user-specific channel
statistics, we propose a novel estimator, called reduced-subspace least squares
(RS-LS) estimator, that only uses knowledge of the array geometry. The RIS
phase-shift pattern is optimized to minimize the mean-square error of the
channel estimates. The RS-LS estimator largely outperforms the conventional
least-squares estimator, and can be utilized with a much shorter pilot length
since it exploits the fact that the array geometry confines the possible

You Lose, I Feel Better: Rivalry Between Soccer Teams and the Impact of Schadenfreude on Stock Market
This study considers the game-related performance of two listed soccer clubs in Italy which share the same stadium: Roma and Lazio. We introduce the performance of the archrival in the analysis. The high level of rivalry in sports should lead to a feeling of pleasure at the suffering of another group (known in German as Schadenfreude) and we assume to see the satisfaction of investor fans with the defeat of the archrival. Likewise, the win of the archrival can have a negativeimpact on the mood of investors. This study shows that, when club supporters experience the negative performance of their team, the results of their archrival can affect their investment decisions. It is therefore proven that, at least in this respect, the investors (also widely represented by club supporters) are driven by the sentiments conveyed by rivalry which, considered to be a source of emotion, may be relevant to the market
