La exposición temprana como prevención de las alergias
No full textHistóricamente se consideraba que la exposición temprana a los alérgenos era un factor de riesgo a la hora de desarrollar hipersensibilidad. Pero en los últimos años ha ido cobrando relevancia la teoría contraria, es decir que esa exposición es un factor protector. En este trabajo nos centraremos en hablar de dos tipos de exposición. En primer lugar la exposición del sujeto a su microbiota intestinal en sus primeros años de vida, y gracias a los resultados de los estudios analizados podemos afirmar que el tipo de microbiota del sujeto supone un factor importante a la hora de sufrir enfermedades alérgicas. En segundo lugar hablaremos de como la exposición al alérgeno, en los tratamientos de inmunoterapia oral, son una alternativa que puede ayudar a estos pacientes en el control de su enfermedad. Con estos resultados se abren nuevas vías de investigación para ayudarnos a conocer y tratar mejor las enfermedades alérgicas, un grupo de enfermedades que afectan a un importante porcentaje de la población.Fac. de FarmaciaTRUEunpu
Nuevas Narrativas: Translation of Family History
No full textFamily histories are hard to pass on when the native language of one\u27s culture is no longer passed on to the next generation. Growing up between two cultures has created a void that is considerably complex. Nuevas Narrativas: Translation of Family History represents the dynamics involved with deciphering my grandfather\u27s migration story. This investigation within family narratives illustrates the dynamics within reception, translation, and transcription of traditional narratives.
In this installation, I engage the reception of my grandfather\u27s migration story as a way of addressing how foreign languages and historical narratives create displacement through time. The context for this work lies in the viewer\u27s identification with objects of a specific history altered to visually represent personal transformation.
This work utilizes sound as a medium for communicating the various levels of displacement encountered when translating foreign languages. It is by this process of translation that transcripts are made and eventually read aloud in an attempt to map out a specific history. This process of mapping the story is an attempt at familiarizing myself to my grandfather\u27s history and as author Johannes Fabian states, to be knowingly in each other\u27s presence we must somehow share each other’s past.
Eksplorasi Permainan Tradisional Kabupaten Agam Dalam Konteks Pembelajaran Sains Berwawasan Kearifan Lokal
No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi permainan tradisional yang terdapat di Kabupaten Agam serta menggali nilai-nilai edukatif yang terkandung di dalamnya sebagai dasar untuk pengembangan pembelajaran sains yang berwawasan kearifan lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik snowball sampling, di mana partisipan terdiri atas masyarakat dan penggiat seni yang memiliki pengetahuan tentang permainan tradisional di wilayah tersebut. Data penelitian didapatkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 18 narasumber dan dianalisis secara deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat sekitar 20 jenis permainan tradisional anak nagari yang masih dikenal dan dimainkan di Kabupaten Agam, seperti tapak lele, kasti, silek, randai, hingga congklak. Permainan-permainan ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga mengandung nilai-nilai edukatif yang tinggi, seperti kerja sama, sportivitas, kreativitas, disiplin, berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan sosial. The results showed that the asset management area to safeguard assets and significant positive effect on the value of determination coefficient of 34.322 or, while the influence of other variables to securing assets reached 0.296 % of these results shows that although the asset management area of influence a positive and significant impact on the assets securing the area . Ontogeny of human IgE-expressing B cells and plasma cells
No full textBACKGROUND: IgE-expressing (IgE+ ) plasma cells (PCs) provide a continuous source of allergen-specific IgE that is central to allergic responses. The extreme sparsity of IgE+ cells in vivo has confined their study almost entirely to mouse models. OBJECTIVE: To characterize the development pathway of human IgE+ PCs and to determine the ontogeny of human IgE+ PCs. METHODS: To generate human IgE+ cells, we cultured tonsil B cells with IL-4 and anti-CD40. Using FACS and RT-PCR, we examined the phenotype of generated IgE+ cells, the capacity of tonsil B-cell subsets to generate IgE+ PCs and the class switching pathways involved. RESULTS: We have identified three phenotypic stages of IgE+ PC development pathway, namely (i) IgE+ germinal centre (GC)-like B cells, (ii) IgE+ PC-like 'plasmablasts' and (iii) IgE+ PCs. The same phenotypic stages were also observed for IgG1+ cells. Total tonsil B cells give rise to IgE+ PCs by direct and sequential switching, whereas the isolated GC B-cell fraction, the main source of IgE+ PCs, generates IgE+ PCs by sequential switching. PC differentiation of IgE+ cells is accompanied by the down-regulation of surface expression of the short form of membrane IgE (mIgES ), which is homologous to mouse mIgE, and the up-regulation of the long form of mIgE (mIgEL ), which is associated with an enhanced B-cell survival and expressed in humans, but not in mice. CONCLUSION: Generation of IgE+ PCs from tonsil GC B cells occurs mainly via sequential switching from IgG. The mIgEL /mIgES ratio may be implicated in survival of IgE+ B cells during PC differentiation and allergic disease

Several “Basque-Iberian” toponymic similarities are so clear, obvious and undeniable that they demand an explanation. Para ello el autor analiza el texto de los Ejercicios espirituales que Jorge M. Bergoglio impartió a los obispos españoles (2006). De esta forma, el artículo muestra que la espiritualidad ignaciana es una seña de identidad de su pontificado.Pope Francis was trained in the school of Saint Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises. The author interprets four productions of this director ("Pilgrim of Dreams" by lüigcnijus Ignatavičius and Jonas Vaitkus, "Throstle - the Green Bird" by Bronius Kutavičius and Sigitas Geda, "All Souls Day" by Adom Mickiewicz and "Migel Manara" by Oscar Miłosz as well as accentuates the regularities of the directorial mode of theses productions. Their composition develops consequently, and the emotional peaks arc connected with the additional dramaturgical situations. Vaitkus creates an independent poetical language, because the origin of his theatre is symbolic. With the help of set designers (Janina Malinauskaitė, Dalia Mataiticnė, Jonas Arčikauskas) he creates an exceptional symbolic space. Poetical theatre of Vaitkus is disengaged from the descriptive means and could be considered as an independent genre with the peculiar artistic language, based on the conceptual ditcctorial approach.
