Dapper
dapper na hook weighted with a lead for quick sinking in codfishing. The lead and hook are all in one while the usual hooks and leads used to catch cod in the fall are not. The dapper is also much lighter. I used one this past spring to catch fish when the caplin come in. The dapper being lighter that ordinary 'lead & hook' are use then because [Reverse] the fish are 'on the surface' chasing the caplin. Because the fish are not on the bottom when the dapper is thrown overboard it is thrown away from the boat so that it will sink slowly & give the 'floating' fish a chance to eat it.YesDICT CEN.Used IUsed INot used"Newfoundland Folklore Survey Card"; reverse of card at D_16845; Checked by Cathy Wiseman on Mon 15 Dec 201

Entity Framework i Dapper u naprednom webokruženju

dAppER: decentralised application for examination reviews
dAppER is to provide an automated quality assurance mechanism for the internal procedures put in place for the production of exam papers and their respective assessment schemes. Higher Education Providers (HEP) in the UK, or for that matter Universities worldwide, have a duty to meet the quality standards and requirements set out in their respective curricula and programme specifications. Such requirements usually include internal moderation of unseen examination papers and independent review by an external examiner to ensure necessary checks have taken place. These checks are likely to be scrutinised during audit trails. Permissioned blockchain facilitates the secure distribution of the exam paper, whilst maintaining an immutable and trusted ledger for audits. The system allows transparency that is ideal for External Examiners and Auditors to view. A prototype was developed using HyperLedger and implemented on three mock exam papers. The results demonstrate that dAppER can be successfully implemented and provide some insights into whether the development of decentralised applications complements quality assurance systems in general
Creating an OData compliant Web-service when Dapper is used for Object-Relational Mapping
This paper explores and analyses the possibility of creating a web-service using OData protocol and Dapper object-relational mapping system. It explains the theoretical foundations of these two technologies and describes the way they should be used. Different approaches of data access and processing ways in the implementation of Entity Framework and Dapper are compared against one another. In the implementation of this paper, wanting to achieve successful coordination of OData with a different type of object-relational mapping, OData query options are converted to SQL queries. Communication with the database is realized using Dapper, accomplishing swift responses to client requests. As a part of this thesis, a client application is made that calls the web-service to test the implementation. All requests and responses in the system (both client application and web-service) are written in a log file for further study
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Author Under Sail The Imagination of Jack London, 1893-1902
In Author Under Sail, Jay Williams offers the first complete literary biography of Jack London as a professional writer engaged in the labor of writing. It examines the authorial imagination in London's work, the use of imagination in both his fiction and nonfiction, and the ways he defined imagination in the creative process in his business dealings with his publishers, editors, and agents. In this first volume of a two-volume biography, Williams traverses the years 1893 to 1902, from London's "Story of a Typhoon" to The People of the Abyss. The Jack London who emerges in the pages of Author Under Sail is a writer whose partnership with publishers, most notably his productive alliance with George Brett of Macmillan, was one of the most formative in American literary history. London pioneered many author models during the heyday of realism and naturalism, blurring the boundaries of these popular genres by focusing on absorption and theatricality and the representation of the seen and unseen. London created an impassioned, sincere, and extremely personal realism unlike that of other American writers of the time. Author Under Sail is a literary tour de force that reveals the full range of London as writer, creative citizen, and entrepreneur at the same time it sheds light on the maverick side of machine-age literature.Intro -- Title Page -- Copyright Page -- Dedication -- Contents -- Acknowledgments -- Introduction -- 1.
