Title: Safeguarding Brand Reputation through Sustainable Sales - A Case Study on Volvo Construction Equipment Author: Ludvig Danielsson Supervisor: Jan Alpenberg Examiner: Fredrik Karlsson, Elin Funck Background and problem: When the Export Credit Guarantee Board in Sweden started increasing the demands on sustainability control for all credit applications, Volvo Construction Equipment implemented a pilot process to assess the sustainability risks in customers’ business. As the pilot progressed, new purposes emerged to also avoid engaging in business relations with irresponsible customers and thus avoid reputational damage. However, this require improved efficiency, clarification, and scope of the process to include all deals. Purpose: The overall purpose of this thesis is to develop a process devoted to control the reputational risk companies are exposed to when engaging in B2B relations with customers not complying to their sustainable responsibilities. Method: The purpose is achieved through a case study on Volvo Construction Equipment. The first part includes a critical review of a process used with a similar purpose which is used as a base for the process development. Conclusion: A process devoted to handle risk should be integrated with the company’s overall risk approach. Therefore, the process requires certain guidelines and tools to be handled efficiently on an operating level. These guidelines and tools must base on policies conforming to the CSR strategy of the company. The process should be developed in three steps; identification- which includes screening and defining risks, assessment- analysing the identified risks and decide on level of impact, Response- accepting the risk by continuing with the deal, avoiding the risk by not continuing with the deal, or reduce the risk by imposing mitigation activities on the customer

    Evolution of chlamydia trachomatis

    No full text
We know surprisingly little about the evolutionary origins of Chlamydia trachomatis. It causes both ocular (trachoma) and sexually transmitted infections in humans, it is an obligate intracellular pathogen, and there are only a few “isolates” that have been well characterized. From the first few genomes analyzed, it seems that the C. trachomatis genome is highly conserved. The genomes possess high synteny and, in some cases, the sequence variation between genomes is as little as 20 SNPs. Recent indications from partial genome analyses suggest that recombination is the mechanism for generating diversity. There is no accurate molecular clock by which to measure the evolution of C. trachomatis. The origins of both sexually transmitted and ocular C. trachomatis are unclear, but it seems likely that they evolved with humans and shared a common ancestor with environmental chlamydiae some 700 million years ago. Subsequently, evolution within mammalian cells has been accompanied by radical reduction in the C. trachomatis genom

A wide range of pertinent topics are being studied. In particular our efforts are devoted to producing a high quality programming environment based on the Andorra Kernel Language (AKL), a general purpose concurrent constraint language. 1 Introduction Concurrent constraint programming (CCP) is a powerful paradigm for programming with constraints while being based on simple concepts [9, 11]. A set (or conjunction) of constraints, regarded as formulas in firstorder logic, forms a constraint store. A number of agents interact with the store using the two operations tell, which adds..

Title: Hybrid work: The workplace and the place of work - A qualitative study of employee experiences. Level: Bachelor's degree thesis in the subject of business administration. Author: Katarina Danielsson and Maja Mettävainio Supervisor: Emilia Kvarnström Date: 2024 - May Aim: The aim of the thesis is to create an understanding of how employees experience hybrid work. Method: The thesis is characterized by a qualitative method consisting of semi-structured interviews with eight respondents who have experience of hybrid work during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. All interviews have been transcribed, coded inductively and then analyzed thematically before the empirical evidence is reported and discussed in the thesis. Results and conclusions: Trust and flexibility are the conditions required to enable hybrid work, but organizations and leaders do not always offer the conditions. Control, resistance and ill-conceived office spaces should be abolished as they create low satisfaction. Consequently, the location of the work is no longer of such central importance. Furthermore, parents of young children are the work group that benefits from hybrid work. Contribution of the thesis: The conditions demanded by employees as well as the conditions organizations tend to offer; and how it has an effect on balance and job satisfaction. The essay also states that hybrid work is significant for parents of young children, while the location of the work is of minor importance. Suggestions for future research: Conduct the same study with quantitative method and larger sample to clarify the relationship between hybrid work, job satisfaction and Perceived Organizational Support

Nyckelord: Kunskapsöverföring, Teknisk kompetens, Projektbaserade organisationer, IT-organisation, SECI-modellen, Organisatoriskt lärandeTitle: Preserving the Invisible: How Knowledge Is Retained and Transferred in Project-Based IT Organizations as Part of Management Control Level: Bachelor’s thesis in Business Administration Author: Daniel Danielsson and Theo Lönnebacke Supervisor: Jean Claude Mutiganda Date: June 2025 Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the retention and transfer of technical competencies within project-based teams in Swedish IT companies, with a particular focus on structures and knowledge management as part of management control. Method: The study was conducted as a qualitative case study, using semistructured interviews and complementary document analysis. Seven respondents from various roles within the company participated. A thematic analysis was carried out, and the empirical findings were interpreted using the SECI model and thetheory of organizational learning. Results and conclusions: The results indicate that knowledge transfer in the company is largely informal and relationship-based, leading to a reliance on individuals that pose a potential risk. At the same time, structural initiatives, such as digital tools and internal forums, are being implemented to support knowledge sharing. The study concludes that a balance between formal structures and a supportive organizational culture is crucial for sustainable knowledge transfer over time. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes theoretically by linking employee experiences to established knowledge transfer models, emphasizing the importance of informal mechanisms in project-based environments. On a practical level, it highlights the need to combine digital tools with cultural and managerial support to ensure long-term knowledge management. Suggestions for future research: Future studies could investigate how digital knowledge tools specifically impact knowledge transfer and compare multiple cases to explore similarities and differences among various types of project-based organizations.
