    The effect of tobacco curl disease on the yield and quality of eight Virginia tobacco varietiesTobacco leaf curl disease is one of the important diseases on Virginia tobacco which especially occurs in dry condition. The use of resistant varieties is one of the most effective way to control the disease. This experiment was lo evaluate the effect of tobacco curl disease on tobacco varieties (DB 101, Coker 319, Coker 176, Coker 48, Coker 86, and Coker 371 Gold) and two promising lines (T.45/T.65 and T.45/T.69). The experiment was conducted in Pekuwon, Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro from April to October 1997. The experiment was arranged in randomized block design with three replications. The tobacco seedlings wee transplanted in 0.9 m x 0.6 m spacing and 9.0 m x 9.0 m plot size. The fertilizer dosage applied are 300 kg ZA + 108 kg SP-36 + 156 kg ZK per ha The parameters observed including percentage of diseased plant, productive leaves, as well as the yield and quality of leaves. The esults showed that Coker 371 Gold variety showed the lowest disease percentage (6.89%), decrease in productive leaves was high (71.86%), Whereas the two promising lines, were T.45/T.6S and T.45/T.69 showed that the percentage of diseased plants wee not significantly different compared with DB 101, Coker 319, and Coker 48, but the decrease in productive leaves was lower. The yield of these promising lines were 10.12-10.30 kg/81 m!, grade indexes 86.04-87.27, and crop indexes are 88.31-88.63. Coker 176 was the most susceptible variety. The percentage of diseased plant, flue- cured yield, grade index, and crop index on Coker 176 wee 42.67%, 7.77 kg/81 m!, 86.09, and 66.89, respectively

    ABSTRAK Higher initial population densities of root-knot nematode increased root damage, reduced growth and fibre yield of kenaf var. G4but in the contrary the multiplication rate of root-knot nematode is decreased. On kenaf plant at 105 days after planting, the highest number of juveniles in the soil was found after the initial population densities of 40 juveniles/100 ml of soil (1.073 juveniles) but the multiplication rate is the lowest (26.8333). The multiplication rate at 10 juveniles/100 ml of soil is 64.3333 and total of juveniles at this treatment is 643 juveniles. The highest number of juveniles in the root was found after the initial population densities of 20 juveniles/100 ml of soil (5.707 juveniles) and is not significantly different with 40 juveniles/100 ml of soil treatment (4.587 juveniles). The highest root damage is at treatment of 40 juveniles/100 ml of soil (6.33 Zeck scale). The highest yield reduction is at 40 juveniles/100 ml of soil treatment (26.3513 per cent).     The thrifting trend, namely hunting for used clothes, is currently increasing in several big cities such as the city of Surabaya. Based on preliminary research conducted by researchers in two locations, namely Tugu Palawan Pagi Market and Surabaya Gembong Market. Consumer buying interest in both regions shows that consumers are very enthusiastic about buying used clothes, but second-hand clothing sellers still do not know the factors that encourage consumers to buy used clothes so that impulse buying occurs. This research uses a quantitative research method approach. Quantitative research method is one type of research that is systematic, planned and clearly structured from the beginning to the making of the research design. The quantitative research method in this study uses comparative research. In this study, the author will try to compare several variables that are the focus of observation, namely the variables of fashion lifestyle, self image and impulse buying. Based on the results of comparative analysis using the Independent T test on the variables Fashion Lifestyle, Self Image and Impulse Buying shows that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected, meaning that there is no significant difference in Fashion Lifestyle, Self Image and Impulse Buying in thrifting consumers Tugu Pahlawan Morning Market and Surabaya Gembong Market. For thrifting clothing business owners in Pasar Pagi Tugu Pahlawan and those in Pasar Gembong Surabaya, thrifting clothing business owners are expected to reduce imports of used clothes because this is based on the issuance of the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022, so that business owners are expected to sell new items that have benefit value and prestige valu

    Lincat disease of temanggung tobacco could not be controlled effectively. One method of control which could be integrated with other measures is biological control. Bacillus is one of soil microorganisms which was not used widely as a biological control agent of plant disease. This report showed the results of the use of local isolates of Bacillus in controlling lincat disease of temanggung tobacco. As much as 91 isolates of Bacillus were directly tested in the field for their capability in suppressing lincat disease development. Six isolates, Ba-4, Ba-22, Ba-24, Ba-30, Ba-33, and Ba-41, could suppress lincat disease in the field. The result of in vitro test indicated that not all isolates which produced zone of inhibition in vitro could suppress disease development in the field. On the contrary, not all isolates which suppressed lincat disease in the field could inhibit the growth of pathogen in vitro. Isolate Ba-41, could suppressed lincat disease in the field and inhibited the growth of Meloidogyne incognita but not inhibited the growth of Ralstonia solanacearum
