Wkład publikacji zamieszczonych w monografiach naukowych z serii „Biblioteka Suicydologiczna” w rozwój polskiej suicydologii
No full textSince 2021, researchers affiliated with the Polish Association of Suicidology have initiated the publication of multi-author monographs as part of the “Suicidological Library” series. To date, three volumes have been released. This article aims to explore how these monographs have contributed to the field of suicidology. Each volume was produced under the scientific editorshipof Prof. Brunon Hołyst and involved a diverse editorial board comprising leading Polish suicidologists as well as experts from the USA, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and Canada. While the “Suicidology” yearbook helped unify the suicidology research community and disseminate knowledge between 2005 and 2018, the “Suicidological Library” series has further strengthened this trend. It not only presents the findings of esteemed Polish suicidologists, but it also showcases the research of emerging scholars in this challenging field.Z inicjatywy naukowców zrzeszonych w Polskim Towarzystwie Suicydologicznym od roku 2021 rozpoczęto wydawanie monografii wieloautorskich w ramach serii wydawniczej „Biblioteka Suicydologiczna. Jak dotąd ukazały się trzy tomy.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wkładu publikacji zamieszczonych w tych monografiach naukowych w rozwój suicydologii.
Wszystkie publikacje powstały pod redakcją naukową prof. dr hab. Brunona Hołysta oraz z udziałem Kolegium redakcyjnego w którego skład wchodzą czołowi polscy suicydolodzy a także ich współpracownicy z USA, Szwecji, Niemiec, Austrii i Kanady.
O ile publikacje z obszaru suicydologii w roczniku „Suicydologia” przyczyniły się w latach 2005-2018 do scalenia tego środowiska naukowego i do upowszechnienia wiedzy suicydologicznej, o tyle publikacje autorskie z serii „Biblioteka Suicydologiczna” wzmocniły ten trend i pozwoliły ukazać efekty badawcze nie tylko zasłużonych suicydologów polskich, ale także młodych adeptów badających ten trudny obszar naukowy
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Get PDFThe scale of suicide phenomenon leads to constantly asked questions about efficiency of prevention steps that supposed to save endangered human life. Religion, or more accurately religious involvement protects people from committing suicide. It seems that this efficiency could be even higher if Catholic priests and the strongly involved in parish life laity were involved in this activity. The research of Catholic priests in Poland that studied their ideas of partucipating in rescuing of would–be suicide does not show optimistic results. Lack of interest in the problem of suicides threatens with a sin of abandonment, in this case abandonment of a would-be suicide who needs help.The goal of this article is to show possibility of undertaking of substantial actions in pre- and post – syuicidal situations by clergy and laity in parish community. This goal has been accomplished.Skala zjawiska samobójstw prowadzi do stale zadawanych pytań o skuteczność kroków profilaktycznych, które mają ratować zagrożone życie ludzkie. Religia, a dokładniej zaangażowanie religijne chroni ludzi przed popełnieniem samobójstwa. Wydaje się, że ta efektywność mogłaby być nawet większa, gdyby księża katoliccy i silnie zaangażowani w życie świeckich parafii byli zaangażowani w tę działalność. Badania księży katolickich w Polsce, które badały ich pomysły uczestniczenia w ratowaniu niedoszłego samobójcy, nie przynoszą optymistycznych rezultatów. Brak zainteresowania problemem samobójstwa grozi grzechem porzucenia, w tym przypadku porzuceniem niedoszłego samobójcy, który potrzebuje pomocy. Celem tego artykułu jest pokazanie możliwości podjęcia istotnych działań w sytuacjach przed i po syzydobójczych przez duchownych i świeckich w społeczności parafialnej. Ten cel został osiągnięty
Profilaktyka samobójstw jako wyraz afirmacji życia
Get PDFThe subject of the research is the phenomenon of suicide prevention in Poland. The aim of the work is to show that suicide prevention is an expression of the affirmation of life. The research included an analysis of available scientific literature describing new forms of prevention of suicidal behavior representing a life-affirming attitude. The analyzed scientific publications prove that the affirmation of life is a basic property of people and institutions operating in the suicide prevention system. Developing an attitude of affirmation of life contributes to increasing the effectiveness of various forms of suicide prevention.Przedmiotem badań jest zjawisko profilaktyki samobójstw w Polsce. Celem pracy jest pokazanie, że profilaktyka samobójstw jest wyrazem afirmacji życia. W ramach badań dokonano analizy dostępnej literatury naukowej opisującej nowe formy profilaktyki zachowań samobójczych reprezentujące postawę afirmacji życia. Poddane analizie publikacje naukowe dowodzą, że afirmacja życia jest podstawową właściwością ludzi i instytucji działających w systemie profilaktyki samobójstw. Wypracowanie postawy afirmacji życia przyczynia się do zwiększenia skuteczności poszczególnych form profilaktyki samobójstw
