Il contributo di Sergio Torsello alla renaissance salentina del primo quindicennio del 2000
No full textQuesto contributo mira a descrivere le tre “anime” di Sergio Torsello – Direttore Artistico del Festival La Notte della Taranta, Consulente Scientifico dell’Istituto Diego Carpitella, e Mediatore Culturale tra e per i talenti artistici del suo territorio. Il punto di partenza della narrazione è un articolo di Sergio Torsello, pubblicato nel 2011 in un volume di cui l’autore della narrazione è stato curatore. L’autore sottolinea la stretta connessione tra le tre anime di Sergio Torsello, che emerge non solo dal suo articolo del 2011 ma anche dalle numerose interazioni avvenute tra Sergio Torsello e l’autore. La descrizione del rilievo scientifico della figura di Sergio Torsello è sicuramente parziale, circoscritta nel tempo (gli 8 anni, dal 2007 al 2015 in cui ha interagito con l’autore) e nello spazio (inteso come insieme di argomenti delle loro conversazioni scientifiche e culturali). Ma rende merito del cruciale contributo di Sergio Torsello alla renaissance culturale salentina degli anni dal 2001 al 2015.This contribution aims to describe the three “souls” of Sergio Torsello – Artistic Director of “La Notte della Taranta” Festival, Scientific Consultant of “Diego Carpitella” Institute, and Cultural Mediator
between and for the artistic talents of his territory. The starting point of the description is an article by Sergio Torsello, published in 2011 in a book of which the author of the description was the editor. The author highlights the close connection between the three souls of Sergio Torsello, which emerges not only from the above-mentioned article, but also from the numerous interactions between Sergio Torsello and the author. The description of the scientific significance of Sergio Torsello’s figure is certainly partial, limited in time (the 8 years, from 2007 to 2015, in which he interacted with the author) and in space (in terms of set of topics of their scientific and cultural conversations). But it gives merit to Sergio Torsello’s key contribution to the cultural renaissance of Salento in the years from 2001 to 2015
Stochastic Generalized Nash Equilibrium-Seeking in Merely Monotone Games
Get PDFWe solve the stochastic generalized Nash equilibrium (SGNE) problem in merely monotone games with expected value cost functions. Specifically, we present the first distributed SGNE-seeking algorithm for monotone games that require one proximal computation (e.g., one projection step) and one pseudogradient evaluation per iteration. Correção dos erros de previsão de carga elétrica de curto prazo decorrentes de variações de temperatura na Ilha de Santa Catarina utilizando rede neural
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Computação, Florianópolis, 2013.Este trabalho apresenta primeiramente uma pesquisa que tem como foco a investigação da relação da carga elétrica com a temperatura ambiente para a Ilha de Santa Catarina, e a influência da temperatura na precisão da previsão de carga elétrica de curto prazo, em diferentes faixas de temperatura. A partir dos dados históricos de carga e temperatura, foi construída uma aproximação polinomial de terceiro grau da relação carga versus temperatura, onde a curva resultante mostra a influência da temperatura sobre o comportamento da carga e o relacionamento não linear entre estas variáveis. Foi verificado, para a região estudada, que existe uma faixa central de temperatura com pouca influência no consumo, enquanto que acima ou abaixo desta faixa, existem, respectivamente, relações significativas direta e inversa com o comportamento da carga. Ainda que, a precisão da previsão da carga horária por uma rede neural é afetada pela faixa de temperatura considerada. Outra contribuição desta dissertação é a proposta de um método de correção para a rede neural que minimiza o erro de previsão gerado pelas faixas de temperatura que mais afetam a previsão de carga. Os estudos experimentais indicaram que uma rede neural que inicialmente apresentava instabilidade quando submetida a variações de temperatura, após sua correção, conseguiu diminuir seus erros de previsão a índices muito próximos a dias normais. Abstract : This work first presents a research that has focused on the investigation of the relationship between electric load and temperature in the Island of Santa Catarina and the influence of the temperature on short-term load forecasting regarding different temperature intervals. Based on historic data of load and temperature, it is built a load over temperature curve from a third-degree polynomial approximation, which is used to estimate the influence of the temperature on the load and the nonlinear relationship between these variables. For the studied region it has been shown that there is a central temperature interval with minimum influence on demand, while above and below that interval, respectively, direct and inverse relationships with the behavior of the load is observed. Furthermore, the load prediction accuracy of a neural network is affected by the temperature range considered. This study may produce as result a better scaling on load demand, resulting in financial gain to the distributors. Based on this knowledge we propose a correction method for the neural network that minimizes the prediction error generated by the temperature ranges that most affect the load forecasting. Experimental studies suggested that a neural network which initially showed instability when subjected to temperature changes after correction, managed to reduce forecast error to rates very similar to the normal days

Al comienzo de este trabajo, una simulación típica tardaba poco más de 4:30 horas en ejecutarse. Al finalizar las optimizaciones, la misma simulación tarda menos de 7 minutos, lo que equivale a una ganancia de 40X.In this Bachelor of Computer Science final work, the existing tool was paralleled with the objective of getting fast results at low cost in more complex simulations. At the beginning, a typical simulation took over 4:30 hours to run.
