Super Chern-Simons theory: Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism and A∞ algebras

    No full text
This is a companion paper of a long work appeared in [C. Cremonini and P. Grassi, Pictures from super Chern-Simons theory, J. High Energy Phys. 03 (2020) 043JHEPFG1029-847910.1007/JHEP03(2020)043] discussing the super-Chern-Simons theory on supermanifolds. Here, it is emphasized that the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism is naturally formulated using integral forms for any supersymmetric and supergravity models and we show how to deal with A∞ algebras emerging from supermanifold structures

Planejamento estratégico: o caso do Supermercado Cremonini Ltda

    No full text

Transition, autonomies, factions: towards a Reconsideration of Italian and European History between the XVIIth and XVIIIth Centuries

    No full text
The period of transition between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (1680-1720) culminated in the War of the Spanish Succession, and represents an age of great changes across the continent; on the Italian mainland, the centuries-old Spanish government came to an end and a new era began. This book is a compilation of work done at an international workshop held at Università Cattolica in Milan in 2013, in collaboration with the Dipartimento di Storia Moderna e Contemporanea and the international group ‘Red Sucesión’. During the workshop sessions historians compared their ideas, discussed publishers’ proposals and expressed their ideas. This collection of papers is not only the result of individual research but also a consequence of the wide-ranging discussions held during the Milan meeting. The book seeks to throw some light on an important and, so far, largely neglected period of European histor

Abstract  The paper examines a curious episode, taking place in the relations between Galileo Galilei and his friend Giovanfranceso Sagredo –the prominent character from Dialogue on the two highest world systems- with the Aristotelian philosopher Cesare Cremonini. Still a professor in Padua, Galilei loans his colleague and friend Cremonini the considerable amount of four hundred ducats. Upon moving from Padua to Florence, the scientist trusts Sagredo to recover the loaned money. The numerous letters which Sagredo addressed to Galilei to such an end, tell us that the full payment of the loan took nine years (1619), thanks to the Venetian patrician’s repeated meddling. It is a common opinion among historians that the delay was caused simply by Cremonini’s  delinquency and misconduct. Instead, the author suggests a different interpretation of the facts, in taking into account, on the one hand, the presence of financial factors which increased the cost of the debt; on the other, the fierceness with which Sagredo took care of Galilei’s interests, to the point of arousing in Cremonini the suspicion of his being the object of usurious maneuvers.&nbsp

The stratigraphic logs of five corings – 10 to 30 m long – are described in the present article. The aim of this analysis is to better understand the inner structure of a small artificial hill existing in the city of Bologna. The hill was created during the Roman age, between the 1st century BC and the 5th century AD, but some evidence indicates that part of the mound could predate the Roman period. Up to now, no convincing explanation about the origin and use of such a peculiar urban relief has been offered. Its inner structure may recall the prehistoric burial mounds techniques, rather than the more regular Roman age ones. The stratigraphic outline of the Holocene sedimentary sequence lying beneath the mound highlights a severe tectonic (?) deformation of the natural buried soils, as well as the Roman age buried topographic surface. The age of the deformation cannot be defined with certainty yet. Additional information concerning ancient archaeoseismic events around the city of Bologna is also presented.
