This article explains the views of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim on “the khilafah” as prescribed in Surat An-Nur verse 55. The method used in this research is a qualitative research with a content analysis approach and using al-Ghazali's philosophy for analysing. This research analyzes the explanation of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim about the khilafah as presented in the video containing his study of the Book of Tafsir Jalalain. It was found in You Tube account entitled “Ngaji Gus Baha Jogja” with the theme “Makna Khilafah” in a video that lasts 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 35 seconds. This research found that KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim believes that the promise of Allah about the realization of Islamic khilafah for the believers is likely to be realized in the future, not today. Hence, he advised those who had knowledge to be patient and not to fail in interpreting the verses of the Qur'an. Khilafah, for the time being, cannot be applied in Indonesia because of its highly multi-religious and multicultural demographic conditions. If the khilafah is applied, there is potential chaos that threatens the sovereignty of the country. The view of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim is a moderate one in the very harsh rejection of khilafah and not out of the original meaning of the text of Surat an-Nur verse 55. If reviewed from the theory of division categories of maslahat according to al-Ghazali in understanding the text about this khilafah, the view of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim that “khilafah is irrelevant for today's time” can be categorized as maslahat dzaruriyat; otherwise, then there will raise chaos. For further research, the author suggests that the view of Khilafah by KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim can be compared with the views of other moderate scholars

Many people still consider sexual education in early childhood to be taboo information. Many parents do not agree with teaching children about sexual education because they feel that it is not yet the time for children to know. The high rate of sexual abuse that occurs both against children and teenagers is the biggest reason why it is so important for children to know about sexual education from an early age. Sexual education to children should be given by parents from an early age and then continued by educators at school as a reinforcement of the understanding that children already know. The aim of this research is that the author wants to describe the sex education program at TK Muslimat NU 221 Salafiyah Bahauddin Taman Sidoarjo. The author also wants to know about parents' understanding regarding sexual education for children. This research is a qualitative descriptive case study research. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation and documentation using the Miles & Huberman Interactive Model Analysis technique. The subjects in this research were 6 people, namely, the principal, Kindergarten B teacher, and three guardians of Kindergarten B students. Both educators and parents were able to provide a fairly good understanding of sexual education for children in a basic and age-appropriate manner. Understanding is provided through various media and practices that can support children in understanding and learning about sexual education. Such as through songs, cartoons, pictures, conversations, getting used to going to the bathroom and using the bathroom for long periods of time for female students. From providing sexual education, parents gave a positive response regarding the changes their children showed while at home. However, integration/linkages between institutions and parents regarding sexual education are still not established. So it is felt that this needs to be established so that children can learn better.

A Practical and Successful Desensitization Protocol for Immediate Hypersensitivity Reactions to Iron Salts

No full text
Orally administered iron salts (OAS) are widely used in the management of iron deficiency anemia and hypersensitivity reactions to OAS are not common. If an offending drug is the sole option or is significantly more effective than its alternatives, it can be readministered by desensitization. The oral desensitization protocols for iron published so far concern either desensitization that was completed only over a long period or did not attain the recommended therapeutic dose. We aimed to develop a more effective protocol. We report here on 2 patients who experienced hypersensitivity reactions to OAS. After confirming the diagnosis, both patients were desensitized to oral ferrous (II) glycine sulfate complex according to a 2-day desensitization protocol. A commercial suspension of oral ferrous glycine sulfate, which contains 4 mg of elemental iron in 1 ml, was preferred. We started with a dose as low as 0.1 ml from a 1/100 dilution (0.004 mg elemental iron) of the original suspension and reached the maximum effective dose in 2 days. Both patients were successfully desensitized and they went on to complete the 6-month iron treatment without any adverse effects. Although hypersensitvity reactions to iron are not common, there is no alternative for iron administration. Therefore, desensitization has to be the choice. This easy desensitization protocol seems to be a promising option. i 2014 S. Karger AG, Basel</jats:p

During the last decade the growing interest in intellectual capital has been shifted from business organizations to higher educational institutions because major functions of higher educational institutions particularly Universities is to create and disseminate knowledge acquired through education and research. Now educational institutions are regarded as center of innovations and produce of innovative human capital. The main objective of this study is to analyze the concept of intellectual capital, its importance for higher educational institutions and its impact on their working environment and performance. For this purpose the author has selected two Universities, namely: Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan and Islamia University Multan and has taken a sample of 200 employees of these Universities: 150 academic and 50 non-academic. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire by conducting face-to-face interview. Three estimation methods were used to analyze the data. Five point likert scale was used to record the view of respondents about the importance of intellectual capital and its management by these two selected Universities. Regression method was used to measure the impact of intellectual capital (independent) variables on the performance (dependent variables) of these Universities. Scorecard and Ratio Analysis was used to compare the output level of intellectual capital and their relative performance. Our empirical results are robust and show that intellectual capital and organizational performance has had a significant correlation and Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan outperformed Islamia University of Bahawalpur in better output of intellectual capital, its management, and overall performance. The evidence shows that Bahauddin Zakriya University Multan has greater intellectual capital than Islamia University of Bahawalpur. As regard to the components of intellectual capital, human capital ranked first in its impact on performance while structural capital and rational capital has second and third rank. In other words, human capital has greater contribution in creation of intellectual capital and its influence on the performance of these two Universities, out study concludes. Keywords: Intellectual capital, Human capital, Structural capital, Relational capital, University, Research performance.

No full text
An effective strategy for sustainable development is to conduct research on vernacular architecture in response to urbanisation as well as environmental and climate change challenges. However, focused discussion has been limited to date due to the diverse range of disciplines involved in vernacular architecture and the unique examples in practice. Scopus, one of the largest literature databases, was used to find and select a total of 1403 documents for this paper. Techniques for both quantitative and qualitative literature analysis were employed using Microsoft Excel (Version 16.75.2) and the visualisation tool VOSviewer (Version 1.6.19). Using bibliometric analysis, more academic publications were reviewed, aiming to analyse the current situation, influence, and future direction of the literature related to vernacular architecture. The current issues have been obtained from the statistical results, and the opportunities and challenges of vernacular architecture in today’s cities are discussed. The twenty most frequently referenced publications, keywords, and correlations between co-occurrences were all examined in this bibliometric analysis, along with annual publishing trends and the most influential nations, institutions, sources, and authors. The analysis showed a rising trend in vernacular architectural publications, with China, Italy, and Spain being the most prolific nations whose institutions have a high academic impact. However, the degree of international author collaboration remains insignificant. Future themes could focus on energy, comfort, earthquake resilience, and sustainability, with cultural heritage and vernacular communities still receiving little research attention. This study is a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of vernacular architecture, as well as an important study of sustainability and resilience, affirming the importance of vernacular architecture in terms of future urban form and drawing on the lessons of history. Also, the proposed research framework could be a strong reference for future researchers looking for inspiration

Abdul-Raheem al- Burei (Died: 803 A.H) was a prominent Arabic poet from the Yemeni origin. His basic area of poetic exploration was the “Praise of the Holy Prophet”(Peace be upon Him) or “al- Madeeh al- Nabawi” (المديح النبوي ﷺ). Because there is this big hindrance prevailing in front the of research scholars of not being able to find proper information about the details of his life from the authentic sources, so in search of trustworthy data about al- Burei’s life and works, the author relies majorly on al- Burei’s own writings, particularly his Diwan (Anthology of the poems). The author of this article accumulates the reliable basic information about al- Burei’s life, then identifies his general poetic characteristics and personal specific stylistics which distinguish him from his peers. In this pursuit, the author attempts to trace rhetoric elements and arrangements articulated by al- Burei, as well as to present a brief study of the repeated topics and frequently appearing major themes of his complete poetic works. This research paper is focused to evaluate the actual contribution of al- Burei towards the vast repository of Arabic poetry. Also, the author is aiming to compile a condensed image of the content of al- Burei’s Diwan (Anthology of the poems)

Understanding the energy balance of TR structures observed by IRIS in non-equilibrium emission

The corona, the outer atmosphere of the Sun, is a multi-million degree plasma, nearly three orders magnitude hotter than the visible surface. The exact mechanism by which the corona is heated is still the subject of debate, but possibilities include magnetic reconnection and magnetohydrodynamic waves. Studying the thin boundary layer connecting the cooler chromosphere to the hotter corona, named the TR, is an important step toward understanding mass and energy transport from the chromosphere to the corona. Thus, spectral emissions from the cool (< 1 MK) loop-like structures in this region are in need of extensive study and analysis. Because observations lack sufficient spatial resolution, this type of structure was called the “unresolved fine structure”, which is now considered resolved by the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS). In the active TR of the Sun, IRIS has observed loop-like structures with intermittent brightenings which are thought to originate from impulsive heating. In this thesis, the author present evidence of magnetic field line braiding and reconnection mediated brightenings of TR loops using IRIS slit-jaw images and spectral data, complemented by the EUV channels of the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). The set of observables used to characterize the brightenings consists of diagnostics of temperature, density, line broadening, and Doppler-shift on a pixel-by-pixel basis. The characterization scheme is extended by accumulating time dependent differential emission measure (DEM) distributions to define the nature of the spatial heating profile and frequency. A field-aligned hydrodynamic simulation and a forward modeling code, designed to generate synthetic observations from numerical experiments for comparison with real data, are employed. Non-equilibrium ionization is included in the computation of synthetic spectra. In addition, the relatively high-density TR plasma requires the inclusion of density-dependent dielectronic recombination rates to calculate the ion populations and the emission line intensities. We show that the observations and the numerical experiments are consistent with reconnection mediated impulsive heating at the braiding sites of multi-stranded TR loops. The combination of observation and numerical analysis will provide the building blocks of time-dependent 3D models of these loops and their contribution to active region emission which will, in turn, help us to understand the energy balance of these structures and may shed light on the long standing coronal heating problem: “Why is the Sun’s corona so much hotter than the surface?”
