La traduction n’est pas qu’une traduction. Quelques propos sur la traduction d’une écriture fragmentaire bilingue: <i>Cuvântul nisiparniţă</i> (<i>Le Mot sablier</i>) de Dumitru Tsepeneag
Abstract
Translation is not mere translation. A few remarks on the translation of a fragmentary bilingual text: Cuvântul nisiparniță (Le Mot sablier/The Hourglass Word) by Dumitru Tsepeneag
The present paper will focus on the translation of a fragmentary bilingual writing. Interested both in his own monolingualism and in the monolingualism of the other (see Derrida 1996, and here mainly the monolingualism of the French reader who should constitute a kind of pseudo-source-audience3), Dumitru Tsepeneag turns his own bilingualism into a topic in his book Cuvîntul nisiparniță (published first in translation as Le Mot sablier in 1984). “This (im)possible appropriation becomes the generating reason of the creation and in the creation, then in the self-translation”; a “writing experience” where the writer cultivates his bilingualism and his biculturalism, and sheds light on the process of translation from a perspective that is at least double: that of the translated42 and self-translated writer, but also that of the translator-writer” (Lungu-Badea 2008, 20). What translation strategy would be appropriate for a book that begins in Romanian and ends in French? We could claim that its destiny is to show how one language replaces another and, consequently, renders translation useless for bilingual users. If this is but an argument for the counter-translation, the French translation, published by the P.O.L. publishing house, does not challenge it. It could respect neither “the psychological intention of the author” (Ladmiral 2006, 140), nor the “semantic intention of the text” (Ladmiral and Lipiansky 1995, 53).</jats:p
Visualizing sailing regatta events in Sailing+
This paper proposes a novel approach to visualizing events in sailing regattas, in a way that is engaging, informative and interactive to the users of the Sailing+ application. The approach used was to create two different types of visualizations for each type of event: artistic, which contains animations and effects such as depth of field, and informative, which shows key information about the event. The events are visualized with the help of animated thumbnails, in which the two views are blended together. These thumbnails have been added to the race timeline, and a static shot is shown first after which the user can play the animation. To allow users to express their preference for the static image, an interactive slider allows the selection of any frame in the thumbnail animation.CSE3000 Research ProjectComputer Science and Engineerin
Moldavian composers'piano works in the practice of contest
The author considers the piano being a competitive creative work in the Republic of Moldova beginning with 60 's o f the XXth century. Some aspects of the creative work of Zagorsky, Lungu, Rotaru, Ciobanu and many other composers are offered, composers who created brilliant piano miniatures presented at the Republic, Interzonal and International contests. The author points out the winners of the given competitions the first and the most prominent, performers of compulsory national plays (M. Shramko.Y. Mahovtchi, I. Hatlpova, Y. G ubaidulina, S. Philiogio, etc.)

The thesis argument is that in a democracy, the military is a valuable instrument in quelling domestic violence. The author attempts to prove that the military response is critical in dealing with civilian violence and approaches the issue of the legitimacy of this response. The author analyses the current status of civil-military relations, the record of the military's employment in cases of civilian disturbances, as well as the legal framework governing this employment in both countries. The thesis uses the 1992 Los Angeles riots as a case study for the United States. For Romania, the 1989 Revolution and the 1991 incidents are investigated with a view to determining Romanian particulars. In conclusion, the thesis compares the two cases to draw conclusions from the U.S. case appropriate to the Romanian one, and thus to improve the Romanian military response to civil violence.Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited.NARomanian Ministry of National Defence author (civilian).http://archive.org/details/theemploymentofa109453266

Summary
Despite of success of dental implantation, there are often complications at the early post-operative period of implant placing associated with wound damage and aseptic inflammation.
Purpose of the work is studying clinical efficiency of combined local application of new mucosal gel “Apior” and magnetotherapy at the early post-operative period after dental implantation. Combined local application of the mucosal gel “Apior” and pulsating low-frequency electromagnetic field in the complex medical treatment of patients after conducting an operation of setting dental implants favourably affects the common state of patients and clinical symptoms of inflammation in the area of operating wound. As compared with patients who had traditional anti-inflammatory therapy, the patients treated with local application of apigel and magnetoterapy had decline of edema incidence, of gingival mucosa hyperemia, of discomfort in the area of conducted operation. There occurred more rapid improvement of inflammation painfulness, which correlated with the improvement of hygienic state of oral cavity and promoted to prevention of bacterial content of damaged mucous surfaces. Estimation of microvasculatory blood stream by the method of ultrasonic doppler flowmetry revealed more rapid normalization of volume and linear high systole speed of blood stream in the periimplant tissues in case of use of new complex local rehabilitation method, that testified to the less pronounced inflammation of oral mucosa after the operation. The authors came to conclusion that the local application of the offered method of medical treatment of early post-operative complications of dental implantation reduces terms of renewal of structural-functional integrity of oral mucosa, helps in preventing development of inflammatory complications and strengthening endosseus implant. The inclusion in the treatment management of a new combined method of application of mucosal gel “Apior” and magnetotherapy at the early post-operative period of dental implantation improves the hygienic state of oral cavity, positively affects nonspecific resistance of oral liquid, renders the regenerative action on oral mucosa tissues, which improves efficiency of medical treatment and quality of life of patients.

Historical Resistance Movements and Modern Euroscepticism
This study explores the relationship between historical resistance and their relationship to modern-day Euroscepticism. It can be seen that within the European Union, the political orientation of Eurosceptic parties differs, with some political orientations being more popular in some parts of the continent compared to others—Eastern European states tend to have right-wing parties, while many Southern European states having left-wing parties. The author suggests that this is a result of the orientation of the resistance movements to the state’s historic authoritarian regime. Case studies were conducted on Spain and Poland—two EU with similar sized area, population, and economies—looking at their respective resistance movements to authorization and their connection to their respective dominate Eurosceptic parties, PiS and Podemos. The author observed clear links and similarities between the tactics, ethos, and rhetoric between these parties and their respective national resistance movements to authoritarianism
Stabilization and Control of a UAV Flight Attitude Angles using the Backstepping Method
The paper presents the design of a mini-UAV attitude
controller using the backstepping method. Starting from the nonlinear
dynamic equations of the mini-UAV, by using the backstepping
method, the author of this paper obtained the expressions of the
elevator, rudder and aileron deflections, which stabilize the UAV, at
each moment, to the desired values of the attitude angles. The attitude
controller controls the attitude angles, the angular rates, the angular
accelerations and other variables that describe the UAV longitudinal
and lateral motions. To design the nonlinear controller, by using the
backstepping technique, the nonlinear equations and the Lyapunov
analysis have been directly used. The designed controller has been
implemented in Matlab/Simulink environment and its effectiveness
has been tested with a campaign of numerical simulations using data
from the UAV flight tests. The obtained results are very good and
they are better than the ones found in previous works
