Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textThe seismic reflection information collected on CESAR is presented to provide a continuous record of sedimentary horizons and basement relief. The sedimentary reflectors on the highs are flat lying and layered while those in the topographic lows are less regular and probably slumped. Faults predate and postdate the sediment. The age of the Alpha Ridge is estimated from its magnetic character and fossil information. The ridge's topography, sedimentary and basement structures and bedrock samples resemble those of an oceanic plateau

Each file has eight columns (ID, DateTime, Temp_C, EC_DN, EC_EST, EC_EST_MINUS_RMSE, EC_EST_PLUS_RMSE, DateTime_ForPlots). ID is the unique identifier within the table for each measurement. DateTime is the date and time associated with each measurement in Microsoft Excel format. Temp_C is the measured temperature in degrees Celsius by the STICL. EC_DN is the measured digital number of the electrical conductivity experienced by the STICL. "Closing the R&D Gap, Evaluating the Sources of R&D Spending"

Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.
Surface_Water_Connectivity_Network_EdgeLists_VegClass_ByQ
No full textComma-delimited textfiles of the attribute tables from the edge shapefiles in the spatial representation of the surface-water connectivity network for a given river discharge (Q) when vegetation patches are used as the landscape patches. Portions of landscape patches that are inundated by surface water are represented as vertices in the network. Patches become connected when the boundary between them is breached by surface water. The Q values considered span the historical record for Mission River and the Q in cubic-meters per second (cms) associated with each landscape patch dataset is in the filename. The attributes in this table are used to construct the edge-lists that are used within the igraph library of the R computing language to construct the graph data structures that form the basis for the topological and algebraic graph analysis.
Relevant attributes in the attribute table are listed below.
src_PID: the unique identifier for the source patch that depicts where the line originates from and this is the first column within the edge-list used in igraph to construct the graph data structures
nbr_PID: the unique identifier for the neighbor patch that depicts which of the neighboring patch the source patches connects to and this is the second column within the edge-list used in igraph to construct the graph data structures
