The chapter focuses on the marketing communication research and advertising research. The author describes the communication goals, the variables to be monitored and research tools primarily used to support the development process of the campaign and to monitor its effectiveness. The research for the advertising is classified into three types: (a) pre-campaign research (strategic, pre-test on creativity, media analysis), (b) research during the campaign (post-test and tracking) and (c) post-campaign research (post-test, tracking and media measurement.) The chapter concludes with the presentation of the case of Telecom Italy Alice that examines the issue of measuring the performance of an advertising campaign

strutture in legno

Experimental-numerical analyses of the seismic behaviour of cross-laminated wall systems
The paper discusses experimental and numerical seismic analyses of typical connections and wall systems used
in cross-laminated (X-Lam) timber buildings. An extended experimental programme on typical X-Lam
connections was performed at IVALSA Trees and Timber Institute. In addition, cyclic tests were also carried out
on full-scale single and coupled X-Lam wall panels with different configurations and mechanical connectors
subjected to lateral force. An advanced non-linear hysteretic spring to describe accurately the cyclic behaviour of
connections was implemented in ABAQUS finite element software package as an external subroutine. The FE
model with the springs calibrated on single connection tests was then used to reproduce numerically the
behaviour of X-Lam wall panels, and the results were compared with the outcomes of experimental full-scale
tests carried out at IVALSA. The developed model is suitable for evaluating dissipated energy and seismic
vulnerability of X-Lam structures
Proposal of an Analytical-Experimental Procedure for Determining the q-Factor of Timber Building Systems
The paper analyzes the definition of the q-factor in the literature and its relevance in design of structures in seismic
areas. The available methods for estimating the q-factor are based on the verification of the non-linear seismic
response of entire buildings by means of experimental full scale shaking table tests or numerical simulations. These
procedures result very expansive both from the economic and computational point of view. This work proposes a
new procedure for the q-factor evaluation based on a proper application of the pushover method to the loaddisplacement
curve obtained through experimental quasi static tests on representative wall elements. Such
procedure is validated through shaking table tests and numerical simulations on CLT building systems.
An extensive application of the proposed procedure to a number of wooden building system tested in the CNRIVALSA
laboratory is presented in order to carry out a reliable estimation of the q-factors. Finally the main
advantages and limitations of the proposed procedure are presented and critically discussed
INFLUENCE OF RHEOLOGICAL PHENOMENA IN TIMBER-CONCRETE COMPOSITE BEAMS
In the paper, a new numerical program developed to model the long-term behaviour of timber-concrete composite beams is introduced. It allows taking into account in a rigorous way all rheological phenomena, such as creep, mechano-sorptive effect shrinkage and inelastic strains owing to variations of environmental temperature and relative humidity. The connection deformability is also considered By means of a comparison with an experimental test the capability of the program to predict the long-term behaviour is shown. The influence of different rheological phenomena on the total solution has been estimated. Timber mechano-sorptive effect, connection and timber creep affect very much the structural behaviour. Inelastic strains due to environmental condition changes (temperature and relative humidity) produce important effects as well
“Dialogue between Translators and Authors. The Example of Claudio Magris”
The paper focuses on the forms of cooperation between authors and their translator(s) in all cases in which the two operate simultaneously. This issue is explored on the example of the Trieste-born author Claudio Magris, who cultivates a very close relationship with most of his translators.
Writing and translation have been coexisting in this author throughout his career and have resulted in the heightened sensitivity of Magris the author with regards to translation, as the first part of the analysis shows. The second part describes the dialogue between Magris and the translators of his works, and ends with the more general question of the significance and role of such a form of exchange
Consideraciones sobre la poética de Claudio Rodríguez
The purpose of this paper is to study the poetics of Claudio Rodríguez, delimiting its components and trying to clarify them and to present them as a whole. The author left some pages written on his conception of poetry that encourage reflection and, in some cases, interpretation. So with his conception of poetry as a gift and inebriation, as an alliance and condemnation or celebration (giving title to his collections of poems), or with notions such as «participation», «living contemplation», «living expression » or «personal rhythm» that make up his way of understanding the poetic process.
Application of translational Tuned-Mass Dampers on the seven storey building tested within the sofie project
The paper presents a numerical study conducted on a seven storey cross-laminated (X-lam) buildings equipped with translational Tuned Mass Dampers (TMD's), as a technique for reducing the notoriously high drifts and maximum seismic accelerations of these types of structures. The building was modelled in the finite element software package Abaqus using 2D elastic shell elements and non-linear springs, which were implemented as an external user subroutine and properly calibrated to simulate the cyclic behavior of connectors in X-lam buildings. The used TMD device is linear, and placed on the top of the building. Time-history dynamic analyses were carried out under natural earthquake ground motions. Several comparisons between the response of the structure with and without TMD are presented, and the effectiveness and limits of these devices to improve the seismic performance of X-lam buildings are critically discussed
