Déviance et réussite scolaire à l’adolescence

    No full text
Teenage deviancy and scholastic success. Failure at school, truancy and involvement in offences are often correlated behaviours among adolescents. Accordingly, they can often be thought of as deliberate acts of misbehaviour or the result of failure in exercising authority. The author uses an analysis of school dynamics in lower secondary school and penalized acts of misbehaviour by adolescents aged 16 living in towns in the Seine valley, Paris and to the West of Nantes in an attempt to define the role of social, cultural and family heritage and how they are combined. The author also strives to take account of interaction between received determinations and teenagers’ life stories, in particular their past school performance and current work. Lagrange Hugues. How will « Poil de carotte », who is confined within the maternal area, reach the status of an adult author ? This article relates the different stages in his course which starts with his being fascinated by the fox (the identification with the father and the animal figures). A fascination which he surpasses after his father's death, when the figure of the hunter gives way to that of the poet. Laroche Hugues. Le renard et la bécasse. In: Romantisme, 1997, n°95. Romans. pp. 61-68

We present ReproducedPapers.org : an open online repository for teaching and structuring machine learning reproducibility. We evaluate doing a reproduction project among students and the added value of an online reproduction repository among AI researchers. We use anonymous self-assessment surveys and obtained 144 responses. Results suggest that students who do a reproduction project place more value on scientific reproductions and become more critical thinkers. Students and AI researchers agree that our online reproduction repository is valuable.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Pattern Recognition and BioinformaticsMultimedia ComputingComputer Science & Engineering-Teaching TeamInteractive IntelligenceSoftware EngineeringEmbedded SystemsCyber SecurityAlgorithmic

Laforgue's confrontation with Corbière's works is important in his development of a poetry of "originality at all costs ". It leads him to reject the traditional figure of the author as master or father of his works: like Hamlet Laforgue wants to be the "son of his works". The question of filiations becomes consequently a question of poetics that the opposition between a paternal negative sun and a virginal moon symbolizes. Laroche Hugues. Futuribles: Origins, Philosophy, and Practices—Anticipation for Action

    No full text
Interest in the future blossomed on both sides of the Atlantic after World War II (WWII). Formalized methods were developed in the defense sector but swiftly spread to the corporate world. Various groups, public, private, and governmental, became enthusiastic about reflecting on the future. The American and European approaches to reflecting on the future, to applying foresight and la prospective varied; however, there was cooperation. A chronological overview, this article follows the philosophical gaze of Bertrand de Jouvenel, the French writer and futurist who coined the term futuribles and founded a center that would become Futuribles International. Its current president, his son, Hugues de Jouvenel, outlines the background of this Paris-based center for foresight thinking and studies, which aims to integrate a sense of the long term into decision making and action. To this end, Futuribles performs various scanning functions, publishes reports plus a specialized journal, and trains a diverse clientele in foresight methodology. Moreover, Futuribles International honors the tradition of public intellectual discussions (roundtable series) in the spirit of serving an informed citizenry. The author reminds readers of the necessity of foresight today when unelected multinationals play an unprecedented role yet fall through the cracks of almost all national and international regulation. </jats:p

    No full text
This article calls on sociology to examine the « kinship system » of modern western societies. It begins by defining and demonstrating the value of a sociology of kinship structures and shows that such an approach requires a critical reworking of some classical notions of anthropology. It then puts forward a number of analytical categories designed to identify the structural organization of kinship and its constituent relations, and illustrates them using results obtained for France. Finally, the author emphasizes the need to abandon the false dichotomies (tradition versus modernity) which are obstacles to the study of kinship ties.

    No full text
International audienceThis paper is dedicated to the little studied tomb of cardinal Hugues Aycelin, still located in the former Dominican church in Clermont. First, the author suggests a restitution of its original state based on early modern sources not taken into account by former studies. The sumptuousness of materials, the complexity of the iconographical programme (especially the depiction of funerary rituals) and the heraldic programme as well are unusual for the tomb of a prelate. They remind instead of tombs of lay princes of the Capetian sphere, while anticipating some monuments of the Avignon court. The tomb can be dated between 1307 and 1311 by several iconographical elements, and the patron can be identify as the cardinal’s brother, the archbishop Gilles Aycelin. The tomb he imagined for his brother was, first of all, a commemorative monument symbolizing the dazzling rise of their family
