    First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Mayra Fernanda Martínez-López is first author on ‘ Macrophages directly kill bladder cancer cells through TNF signaling as an early response to BCG therapy’, published in DMM. Mayra conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Dr Rita Fior's lab at Champalimaud Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal. She is now an associate professor and principal investigator at the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad de las Américas Ecuador, Quito, Ecuador, investigating the effects of the innate immune system in cancer development and treatment, and its potential therapeutical implications for personalized medicine

    Este documento presenta los resultados del trabajo de grado realizado en la modalidad de monografía para optar por el título de Ingeniero de Alimentos, bajo la asesoría del ingeniero Francisco Cabrera, y que expone el estado actual del procesamiento del ajonjolí principalmente en Colombia, reconociendo los beneficios nutricionales del grano, su cadena productiva en el país, tradicionales productos obtenidos y otros posibles usos. Su pertenencia deriva en que el ajonjolí tiene muchas cualidades nutricionales que permiten que el estudio del grano y de sus productos generen desarrollo de nuevos bienes, lo cual beneficiaría no solo a los productores de la semilla sino a las empresas procesadoras, que podrían ampliar el portafolio de productos, disminuir la contaminación y obtener mayores ganancias a partir de la misma materia prima.This document presents the results of the degree work carried out in the monograph modality to opt for the title of Food Engineer, under the advice of the engineer Francisco Cabrera, and which exposes the current state of sesame processing mainly in Colombia, recognizing the benefits of the grain, its productive chain in the country, traditional products obtained and other possible uses. Their membership is derived from the fact that sesame has many nutritional qualities that allow the study of the grain and its products to generate development of new goods, which would benefit not only the producers of the seed but the processing companies, which could expand the portfolio of products, reduce pollution and obtain greater profits from the same raw material

    his article makes a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production of green supply chain management (GSCM) focusing on Scopus articles that have been the subject of publication in the journals of Business, Management and Accounting.     Much has been written about Cuban-Puerto Rican writer Mayra Montero\u27s novel Como un mensajero tuyo (The Messenger).1 Many studies on the novel, for example those by Yvette Fuentes2 and Luisa Marcela Ossa,3 focus on the Caribbean spirituality that is mixed throughout the narration, a syncretism of santería, Regla de Ocha and Chinese beliefs in SanFanCón. Others, such as Jorge Marbán4 and Dolores Alcaide Ramírez,5 have called attention to the different intertextualities that construct the novel, from the use of Giuseppe Verdi\u27s opera Aída, to Lydia Cabrera\u27s ethnographical accounts El monte (1954) and La Laguna Sagrada de San Joaquín (1973). Continuously in the narrative, reality and fiction are negotiated, and, though these topics are still in need of a deeper historical analysis (especially due to new research coming out on Chinese-Cubans) the objective in this chapter is to shift the focus of the context to the person in context: the main character, Aida Petrinera Cheng
