Social network e performance d’impresa: verso un nuovo equilibrio tra metodi per il cambiamento organizzativo, la collaborazione e la gestione dell’innovazione

    No full text

E-Learning Cooperative Environments: Simulations and Virtual Labs as the New Frontiers of Inclusiveness and Immersiveness for Organizations

Virtual environments developed thanks to the use of advanced technologies, allow students to experience in a full and total way his/her learning and knowledge, from a subjective perspective, where multisensory interaction is provided. The social context of learning can be created from the content itself. If we can create social spaces on-line than in so far as disciplines connected with the social sciences are concerned, that content can be created as an interactive learning environments with unique, though simulated, social contexts for learning. The aim of this study was to investigate students' perceptions of simulations and role plays and how these tools, if well managed, offer a variety of powerful information sharing and collaboration features. Understanding students' perceptions and usage behavior of these systems is a very important goal, because the success of them depends on several social and psychological factors. In addition, the benefits of 3D graphics for education have been explored. 3D models are very useful to familiarize students with features of different shapes and objects, and can be particularly useful in teaching activities. Some courses have been developed using 3D images that the user must interact with in order to learn a certain lesson

Challenges for expatriates returning: measures and approaches for a successful reintegration of employees in financial organizations

    No full text
The international mobility and the overseas assignment of employees as part of global operations are growing of importance for financial organizations. However, these organizational aspects can also bear risks for both the employee and the companies. They may cause problems that affect the performance, motivation, satisfaction and retention of employees in the organization, especially upon their return. Results from several global surveys confirm the existence of problems following the employees’ return and highlight where action is still required. This article investigates the sources of such risks and provides a discussion about how enterprises can reintegrate their employees successfully. There is a specific focus on managerial measures, which can help financial organizations to prevent potential risks on the return of their employees. Furthermore, it emphasizes on which methods in particular can be useful in order to achieve a smooth reintegration of employees

Managerial governance and transparency in public sector to improve services for citizens and companies

Recent debate and associated initiatives dealing with public sector innovation have mainly aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of public services and improved transparency and user friendliness. Beyond typical administrative reforms, innovation is expected to help address societal challenges such as the aging population, inclusion, health care, education, public safety, environment and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. The public sector consists of a complex open system of organizations with various tasks. Therefore, decision-making can be slower than in the private sector because of large chains of command. Innovations here will often have an impact across this complex organizational structure, and thus must be supported by a robust strategy. To strengthen democracy, promote government efficiency and effectiveness, discourage wastes and misuses of government resources, public administrations have to promote a new stronger level of openness in government. The purpose of this manuscript is to describe an innovative approach for the governance of public systems and services, currently applied in the Italian public administration domain, which could be easily replicated in other countries as well. Two initiatives, to collect and provide relevant public information gathered from different and heterogeneous public organizations, to improve government processes and increase quality of services for citizens and companies, are described. The cases adopted have been validated through a case analysis approach involving the Italian Agency for the public administration digitalization to understand new e-government scenarios within the context of governmental reforms heavily influenced by the principles of Open Government Model

A new system dynamics model to improve internal and external efficiency in the paper digitization of Italian Public Administrations

In this paper, we developed a new System Dynamics model in order to identify the benefits arising from the digitization process in the Italian Public Administration. Our study initially describes the problem in terms of its underlying structural relationships among the variables that constitute the system. A systemic approach allows to consider many crucial aspects of the problem and provides a rich analysis that shows how issues brought by social and psychological factors may become a great obstacle to organizational change. In particular, the analysis has been focused on the interaction between the “world of citizens” and the “world of the administrations”, in a domain of the 8101 Italian municipalities . By means of the System Dynamics approach, it has been possible to study the structure of the system both from a qualitative and quantitative point of view. The study has allowed to identify public management policies and management leverages that constitute the main variables on which the Italian Public Administration would have to act in order to improve its internal and external efficiency and in order to confer an added value to the services being offere
