Low-energy Li-7(n, gamma) Li-8 and Be-7(p, gamma)B- 8 radiative capture reactions within the Skyrme Hartree-Fock approach
The electromagnetic dipole transitions in 7Be(p, ?? ) 8B and 7Li(n, ?? ) 8Li reactions at the keV-energy region were analyzed simultaneously within the Skyrme Hartree-Fock potential model. The Skyrme Hartree-Fock calculation is adopted as a microscopic approach to obtain consistently the single-particle bound and scattering states in the calculation of the radial overlap function within the potential model. All nonresonant and resonant electromagnetic dipole transitions are taken into account. The electric dipole transitions are successfully described with the slightest adjustment. The resonant magnetic dipole transitions at 633 keV and 2184 keV of the 7Be(p, ?? ) 8B reaction, and the one at 222 keV of 7Li(n, ?? ) 8Li are also analyzed. The astrophysical S17(0) factor of the 7Be(p, ?? ) 8B reaction is found to be 22.3 eV b.11Nsciescopu
Single-particle properties of the near-threshold proton-emitting resonance in B-11
The excitation function of proton elastic scattering from Be-10 at keV energy is calculated using the method of self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock in the continuum. The calculation successfully reproduces the narrow near-threshold proton-emitting resonance (E-x = 11.4 MeV, gamma = 6 keV, and quantum number J(pi) = 1/2+) in B-11 relevant to the beta-delayed proton emission of Be-11. This supports the recent experimental result of Ayyad et al. at the ReA3 reaccelerator facility of the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) at Michigan State University. The resonance is interpreted as the s1/2 single-proton resonance state in the Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean-field theory.11Nsciescopu
Origin of octupole deformation softness in atomic nuclei
Recent high-energy heavy-ion collision experiments have revealed that some atomic nuclei exhibit unusual softness and significant shape fluctuations. In this work, we use the fully self-consistent mean-field theory to identify all even-even nuclei that are unstable or soft against octupole deformation. All exceptional cases of enhanced octupole transition strengths in stable even-even nuclei throughout the nuclide chart are resolved and the origin is found in basic shell structure. The presence of atomic nuclei exhibiting significant softness to quadrupole-octupole deformation is suggested. These results represent a significant advance in our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of nuclear octupole deformation and have implications for further experimental and theoretical studies. © 2023 American Physical Society.11Nsciescopu
Proton s -resonance states of C 12 and O 14,15 within the Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean-field framework
The excitation functions of proton elastic scattering on C12 and O14,15 nuclei at the energies near the proton-emission threshold are calculated using the Skyrme Hartree-Fock (SHF) in continuum approach. For each excitation function, the first resonance is identified as the s-state resonance of the mean-field theory. For O15, whose ground-state spin is nonzero, the s-state resonance splits into two resonances via the spin-spin component of the optical potential. With a slight adjustment of the strength of the central potential, which is obtained from the SHF in continuum approach, the excitation functions of proton elastic scattering for the three nuclei can be explained with high accuracy. The proposed framework can provide a practical method to explain nuclear scattering at the energies near the proton-emission threshold with minimal experimental input. © 2023 American Physical Society.11Nsciescopu
Hoang Van Minh video oral history interview and transcript
This recording and transcript form part of a collection of oral history interviews conducted by the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation and donated to the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University. This collection includes video recordings of interviews with Vietnamese Americans native to or living in Texas. This interview forms part of the national 500 Oral Histories Project conducted by the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation.Hoang Van Minh was born in Quang Binh. He is Catholic. His family fled to the South due to the war. He studied at Dong Hoi for a year but moved around a lot because of his father’s career in the military. Hoang Van Minh’s fondest memory of childhood is playing soccer with his peers. His favorite holidays were Christmas and Lunar New Year, when he was granted new clothes and the time to play with friends. He reminisces about a story during which he and a friend gets lost trying to find their way home, worrying his friend’s parents. Around 1966, 1967, Minh went to the Catholic school Giong Thanh Tam and then to the public school Nguyen Hoa, where he took and passed his Tu Tai examination. During 12th grade, Minh and many of his classmates enlisted into the service. Minh had enlisted but was not drafted until a year later. He joined his class (Khoa 26) at the Vo Bi school where he received 3 months of training. He remembers the strict conditions but appreciated the discipline. While he was at Vo Bi, students were given a holiday in Saigon, but unfortunately it was during the Tet Offensive of 1968. Minh remembers witness Viet Cong forces taking over the radio stations in Saigon and hiding under the bed at his relative's house while the Viet Cong searched homes. He joined the branch of the army Thiet Giap in 1968, 1969 where he learned the design and operation of tank vehicles. He was then assigned to be stationed at Ban Me Thuot. During the war, he was shot and injured in his legs. After several transfers, Minh remained at a larger hospital for 2 years for surgery and recovery therapy. Minh married in Da Nang and had one child. In 1975 during the fall of Saigon, Minh tried to get his family to the Tan Son Nhat airport to leave Vietnam but all the roads to the airport were blocked. Minh's family was then forced to flee the country by boat. Minh reached Guam where he stayed for a month before being transferred to a refugee camp in Pennsylvania. Minh went to school and moved to Texas where he now lives. He speaks of his thoughts on the Vietnam War and American involvement in the war as well as the importance of maintaining Vietnamese culture and language overseas

How motion graphics affect marketing campaigns
In the 21st century, video marketing is the most engaging content across multiple social media platforms. A large part of videos created include some form of motion graphics as a tool of communication with the viewers. Video marketing has become the most impactful approach to reach customers. The question is whether motion graphics contribute to its success or not?
There are many trends and changes happening right now in the marketing industry to cope with the rise of technologies. Brands are finding new and revolutionize ways in order to elevate their advertising campaigns. The adaption of motion graphics specifically, and videos in general yield remarkable improvements in marketing. The benefit of motion graphics and its impact on the field have attracted the attention of researchers and businesses around the world.
This thesis focuses on the impacts that motion graphics have in transforming the modern video marketing seen nowadays. First, the defines the term “Motion graphics” as it is a vague concept for most of the viewers. Then the thesis continues to illustrate the current impact that motion graphics has on video marketing in the current years, up till 2020 with the latest statistics. Following the structure of the thesis, viewers will have a comprehensive view on the values that motion graphics has on video marketing campaigns. And finally, the two ways that brands use to create videos as well as the best strategy for the most cost efficiency is presented.
The thesis is structured based on four core questions that are asked in the first chapter. They are the foundation for all information found to solve the big theme issue: The impact that motion graphics have on marketing campaign. In conclusion, the four questions will be summed up in detail to have an overview look on the issue
Hawkers and the Informal Economy of Ho Chi Minh City: The Multi-Scale of Risks from Migration
International audienceStreet vending is quite pervasive in developing countries, in Southeast Asian nations, especially in urban areas. Street vending activity is quite common in cities in Vietnam. According to the 2015 survey of the Vietnamese Government, migrants aged 15-59 in Vietnam accounted for 17.3% of the population (GSO-UNFPA, 2016). A large proportion of them work in the informal economic sector, working without contract, insurance, tax and little control. Street vending is typical of such informal activities. The informal economy is said to account for 20% of the country's GDP and tends to increase rapidly since 2017 (Tran Thi Bich Nhan and Do Thi Minh Huong, 2019). The requirement of city development creates the critical debate on stopping street vending or managing this activity in a way that is compatible with growth and development. Yet it seems that hawkers are unaware of the risks that they are facing, especially migrant group. They seem to fail to comprehend the opportunities associated to controlling their livelihood. The factors impacting vending activities have not been discussed strictly. This paper analyses the social life of hawkers to find who they are and their awareness on street vending as well as factors contributing to these activities. Furthermore, the research explores the risks and difficulties of the migrant hawkers. It analyzes the relation between livelihood of the poor and urban development. Based on that, the potential policies for this issue are discussed. Research is implemented based on both qualitative and quantitative methods. 204 questionnaires for hawkers have been administered and in depth interviews have been conducted from March to April, 2019. All the data were collected through the designed survey in 5 places in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
