Treadmilling by FtsZ filaments drives peptidoglycan synthesis and bacterial cell division

Coordinating cell wall synthesis and cell division Most bacteria are protected by peptidoglycan cell walls, which must be remodeled to split the cell. Cell division requires the tubulin homolog FtsZ, a highly conserved cytoskeletal polymer that specifies the future site of division. Bisson-Filho et al. and Yang et al. found that the dynamic treadmilling of FtsZ filaments controls both the location and activity of the associated cell wall synthetic enzymes. This creates discrete sites of cell wall synthesis that circle around the division plane to divide the cell. Science , this issue p. 739 , p. 744 </jats:p

Abstract : In the book ?O Segredo da Pirâmide: para uma teoria marxista do jornalismo" [?The Secret of the Pyramid: for a Marxist theory of journalism"], Adelmo Genro Filho stated that journalism is a form of knowledge that is crystallized in the singular. This statement has mobilized journalists, researchers and professors over the last 27 years for the institution and legitimacy of theories of journalism in Brazil. With the theoretical and philosophical framework of Critical Ontology of Marx and Lukács, this study exposes the mediations present in the production and reception of the theory and the philosophical concepts that ground the Genro Filho's statement. The work is divided into two interdependent parts. At first, the text brings the main issues that were necessary to the Brazilian journalism in the 1980s (with emphasis on the academic, journalistic writing and the hierarchy of professionals), the author's biography and how the book was received by professors and researchers on journalism in Brazil. The second part reconstitutes the philosophical bases of the book, recovering the ontological understanding of the author towards journalism and how those fundamentals optimize the understanding of journalism as a form of knowledge proposed by the author. The objective was to demonstrate how the author's theoretical choices have close connection with his biography and how he understood the issues of his time. Simultaneously, through the analysis about the book's reception, it was possible to establish a cartography of the Brazilian production based on 411 texts mentioning "The Secret of the Pyramid", evidencing that the process of institutionalization for the defense of journalism as a profession, specialized graduation and with specific theories coincides with that map. Paradoxically, it is demonstrated that the book's reception process is accompanied by a denial of peculiar Marxist basis underlying it, which motivates the detailed study of the categories used by Genro Filho

At the beginning author presents scientific problem of civil war in the light of international law. Respectively in next four chapters, author discusses the aspects of proceeding in Angola in years 1975-2002. Especially accented are genesis and evolution of the Angolan Civil War and its internationalization; meanders of peaceful procedure and individual war phases; interference of foreign countries; role of international organizations in restoring peace in Angola; and patriotic reflex of fighting with each other Angolan, national political and military elites which without participation of foreign countries found method for peaceful coexistence and from several years Angola is at peace. Dissertation consists the bibliography counting 270 position and annexes consisting: chronology of war and peace in Angola, documents of agreements in Bicesse, Estoryl and Lusaca and abundant in factual content, graphic imaging of Angolan Civil War

Bolbonema braziliensis sp. n. is characteriZed bY the crYptospiral fovea amphidialis, arched spicules, gubernaculum a bent rod dorsallY oriented, and two subventral precloacal setae just above the cloaca. Differential diagnosis. Bolbonema braziliensis sp. n. is similar to Bolbonema longisetosum (Jensen, 1985) in the shape and siZe of the fovea amphidialis, cephalic setae at the middle level of the fovea amphidialis, spicules arched and the proXimal region eXpanded, and papilliform supplements associated with setae. It differs from B. longisetosum in the number of papillae supplements (two in B. braziliensis sp. n. and 24 in B. longisetosum) and the absence of an apophYsis. Bolbonema braziliensis sp. n. is comparable to Bolbonema brevicolle Cobb, 1920 in the shape of the fovea amphidialis. It differs in the absence of subcephalic setae (present in B. brevicolle) and the shape of the spicules (eXpanded in B. brevicolle). Bolbonema braziliensis sp. n. can be distinguished from Bolbonema spiralis Hourston & Warwick, 2010 bY the shape of the fovea amphidialis (spiral in B. spiralis), the presence of precloacal supplements, and the shape of the spicules and gubernaculum (arched without a rounded capitulum; and a small simple gubernaculum in B. spiralis).Published as part of Larrazábal-Filho, Alexandre L., Neres, Patrícia F. & Esteves, André M., 2018, The genus Bolbonema Cobb, 1920 (Nematoda: Desmodoridae): emended diagnosis, key to males, and description of three new species from the continental shelf off northeastern Brazil, pp. 551-570 in Zootaxa 4420 (4) on pages 553-557, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4420.4.6, http://zenodo.org/record/145544
