General fractional derivatives and the Bergman projection
In this note we study some basic properties of general fractional derivatives induced by weighted Bergman kernels. As an application we demonstrate a method for generating pre-images of analytic functions under weighted Bergman projections. This approach is useful for proving the surjectivity of weighted Bergman projections in cases when the target space is not a subspace of the domain space (such situations arise often when dealing with Bloch and Besov spaces). We also discuss a fractional Littlewood-Paley formula
Atherosclerosis of the ascending aorta as a risk factor for stroke after cardiac surgery : a study based on epiaortic ultrasound
Postoperative stroke is a dreaded problem in cardiac surgery and atherosclerosis of the ascending aorta (AAA) is an important risk factor. The risk from calcified AAA, the extent and the topography of the disease in the development of stroke was evaluated. We also determined the most important risk factors for aortic embolization of particles with an intra-aortic filter. Moreover, we studied if conversion from a planned on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) affected the incidence of postoperative stroke. Furthermore, we investigated if preoperative computer tomograpy (CT) was comparable with introperative epiaortic ultrasound to diagnose AAA. Finally, we evaluated the relationship between the topography of aortic atherosclerosis and the incidence of late stroke after coronary surgery. Methods: Epiaortic ultrasound (EPI) was performed before surgical manipulation to evaluate the ascending aorta in all patients. In 921 patients the presence of calcification, location of atheroma, extent of the disease and clinical variables including postoperative stroke were recorded prospectively. In 40 consecutive patients undergoing CABG, intraaortic filters were inserted before aortic clamping and extracted after end of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). In 28 consecutive patients with extensive AAA, 15 patients were converted from on-pump CABG to OPCAB. Thirteen (13) patients with similar disease who underwent on-pump CABG were used as a control. In 20 patients undergoing CABG, preoperative CT evaluation of the ascending aorta was compared with intraoperative epiaortic ultrasound findings. The ascending aorta was divided into 12 segments per patient giving in total 240 segments to compare. 611 patients undergoing CABG were followed for late stroke. The extent of atherosclerotic disease in the ascending aorta and aortic arch was evaluated with EPI and transesophageal echocardiography. The mean follow-up time was 5.5±1.7 years (range 0-8 years) and covered 3358 patient-years.Results: 26% of the patients had AAA and in 44.4% of them more than one of 12 possible segments was involved. AAA was found to be the most important predictive factor for postoperative stroke. The incidence of stroke was 1.8% in patients without, and 8.7% in patients with AAA (pConclusions: Patients with AAA had an 8.7% incidence of postoperative stroke. The risk depended on presence, location and extent of AAA. Atherosclerosis is the most important risk factor for embolization of particles from the ascending aorta during CABG. OPCAB preferably without manipulation of the ascending aorta reduces the incidence of stroke in patients with severe disease of the ascending aorta. CT is inferior to EPI in diagnosing extent and location of atherosclerosis of the ascending aorta. AAA stands out as a predictor of late stroke and the extent of the disease in the distal part and lesser curvature of the ascending aorta seem to be of particular importance.List of scientific papersI. van der Linden J, Hadjinikolaou L, Bergman P, Lindblom D (2001). Where Does the Music Come From? Musical Meaning and Musical Discourse in Ingmar Bergman\u27s Films
In his last major radio appearance, in 2004 on the Swedish talk show Sommar, Ingmar Bergman devoted most of the time to his musical interests, highlighting his belief that music transcends language and manifests a deeply philosophical vision of life and beyond: music is a gift—a divine one, although Bergman did not mention God—given to provide hints of realities beyond our perception. Through analyses of the films and manuscript materials in the Ingmar Bergman Archives, this chapter focuses on four instances of interaction between music and dialogue in Bergman’s films that resonate with his comments in the show: music is able to communicate where words cannot in To Joy (1950), words and music interact to support the structure of the narrative in Autumn Sonata (1978), words about music provide powerful metaphors and communicate central parts of the narrative in Saraband (2003), and finally, music and the creation of music structure the entire narrative in In the Presence of a Clown (1997). Despite the stylistic shifts in his oeuvre across the decades of filmmaking, Bergman’s views of music, as represented in his work, have been surprisingly consistent. Whether seen through Beethoven’s Ninth overcoming death in To Joy or music’s emergence as an existential motif in Saraband, through its metaphoric uses of works and modes of performance, Bergman’s films reveal and are profoundly shaped by his belief in the essential, metaphysical nature of music

"Spellbound" di Hitchcock, "Fanny e Alexander" di Bergman e "Caché" di Haneke sono interpretati e analizzati quali paradigmi di un diverso utilizzo e riferimento, più o meno esplicito, alla psicoanalisi e a una estetica psicoanalitica
Reluctant Authorities : the Author in the Classroom
As in the literary public sphere in general, there is a renewed desire to get close to the author behind the work also in the teaching of Swedish as a school subject. By this we do not mean teachers’ and pupils’ possible tendency to interpret the works through a biographical filter, but rather the author's actual physical presence in the classroom. Each year, more than 2,000 author visits are conducted in Swedish schools. Author visits constitute a large and important part of the recurrent policy efforts to get more culture into schools. Pupils’ literacy development is typically highlighted as a main goal for these efforts. But what actually happens during such author visits?
In an ongoing project, we have followed and documented the highly popular and critically acclaimed Swedish author of books for young people Per Nilsson's visits in three different secondary school classes. In our presentation, we will show how the author’s performance can be described as an interaction between four various roles: author, narrator, debater and actor. In particular, we will focus on how the author’s authority over the interpretation of his own text is subjected to extensive and contradictory negotiations

Carme Cascante[en] The main theme of this project is to study the Carleson measures in the Bergman spaces in the unit disk. For this reason, first of all, we will introduce and we will prove the properties of these spaces, we will compute the Bergman Kernel and we will see the main properties of bounded Bergman projection. And finally, we will give a characterization of Carleson measures in theses spaces on the disk and we will finish with a non-trivial
