Nyckelord: intellektuellt kapital, frivillig redovisning, covid-19-pandemin, krig, globala kriserTitle: Intellectual capital during pandemic and war - A quantitative study on 90 Large Cap- and Small Cap-companies  Level: Bachelor thesis in Business Administration Author: Emma Modin and Emma Carpman Supervisor: Veronika Larsson Date: 2025 - june Aim: The aim of this study is to analyze Large Cap- and Small Cap-companies' voluntary disclosure of intellectual capital in connection with the COVID-19-pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Method: We have implemented a quantitative method in the form of a content analysis where an index of keywords related to intellectual capital has been created. We have then used binary coding to examine whether the keywords have appeared in 90 Swedish listed companies' English annual reports from 2018 and 2023. Using the data we have conducted t-tests, ANOVA-tests and regression analysis to examine our hypotheses and answer the aim. Results and conclusions: This study shows that the voluntary disclosure level of intellectual capital on average has increased in the 90 Swedish companies from 2018 to 2023. The study also shows that the category of intellectual capital that companies reported the most after the crises was structural capital. Furthermore, the study shows that companies listed on Large Cap reported more intellectual capital than companies listed on Small Cap in both 2018 and 2023. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes to previous research by examining the voluntary accounting of intellectual capital in connection with two crises that have not been studied together before. Additionally, our work contributes to the research on signaling theory by examining whether large companies voluntarily report more intellectual capital than smaller companies in connection with the studied crises.  Suggestions for future research: We propose to conduct a study similar to ours once the global situation has stabilized, to ensure that the increased reporting of intellectual capital is a result of the global crises examined. In addition, qualitative work could possibly more clearly attribute the increase in intellectual capital to the crises studied. Key words: intellectual capital, voluntary disclosure, COVID-19-pandemic, war, global crisi

The article is devoted to the works of Emma Tennant, an English writer, the author of, inter alia, the continuation of Sense and Sensibility, Emma, as well as Pride and Prejudice. A characteristic feature of Tennant’s writing was the ability to give new meanings to the texts and myths of the popular culture – so she did with the story of Elinor and Marianne, or Sylvia Plath, to whom she devoted one of her better texts. The article, based on the example of Emma Tennant’s writing, focuses on the issues of the strategy of creating literature as rewriting and functioning of feminist ideas in the modern literature

Nyckelord: Harmonisering, hållbarhetsredovisning, intressentteorin, institutionell teori, isomorfism, country-of-origin effektTitle: Harmonization of global sustainability reporting - what are the opportunities and obstacles? Level: Student thesis, final assignment for Bachelor Degree in Business Administration Author: Emma Magnfält and Martina Bäckstedt Supervisor: Asif M. Huq Date: 2024 – May  Aim: The purpose of the study is to investigate opportunities and obstacles for harmonizing global sustainability reporting based on stakeholders' comment letters to IFRS General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information (IFRS S1). Method: In this study, a qualitative method with an abductive research approach has been applied, which includes a content analysis of 39 comment letters regarding feedback on the first draft of IFRS S1. A comparative analysis of the draft versus the issued standard IFRS S1 has been made. Results and conclusions: The results of the study showed similarities and differences in the feedback stakeholders left for the draft of IFRS S1. Differences of opinions in geographical areas stems from institutional factors created by coercive isomorphism and countries' different developmental stages. Differences between stakeholder groups relate to tendencies of normative isomorphism. Similarities of opinions also depend on normative isomorphism. The study also revealed that ISSB categorizes stakeholder groups and accommodates stakeholder needs to a certain degree. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes with an updated perspective of harmonizing global sustainability reporting. Theoretical contributions are given through the insights in how coercive and normative isomorphism affects the possibilities for harmonizing global sustainability reporting. The study brings insights into ISSB's standard-setting process. Suggestions for future research: Future research can examine the views of stakeholder groups in more depth than this study was able to, as well as investigate the outcome of global sustainability reporting that follows the issued IFRS S1. Key words: Harmonization, sustainability reporting, stakeholder theory, institutional theory, isomorphism, country-of-origin effec

A Translation of Song Lyric ‘Ignore’ by Emma Heesters

    No full text
In this study, I will outline the strategy Emma Heesters employed as she attempted to translate Rizki Febian’s song Cuek into Ignore’s lyrics, regardless of whether she adopted a translation strategy that concentrated on the source or destination language. This essay also seeks to investigate the justification for the translation method. For this work, the author used a case study design and a qualitative research approach. The original and Emma Heesters’ translation of the lyrics to a Cuek song served as the study’s participants. The song lyrics were collected in both their English and Indonesian versions by the author using a documented technique to get the data. The author used Newmark’s theory to examine the data. The findings of this study show that, despite some song lyrics emphasizing the source language, the translation technique mostly concentrated on the target language. Therefore, the necessity to harmonize the translation’s intonation or tone with the music could account for Emma Heesters’ predisposition to stress the target language when translating. The fact that some lyrics were rewritten to better suit the female singer, whereas the original version was performed by a male singer, also played a role in this

    Emma Bovary, a personagem

In 1857, Gustave Flaubert published the novel Madame Bovary. For this work he was sued for offending public morals. The work has an intriguing protagonist. Emma Bovary, a character that shook many in the mid-nineteenth century. A character who barely speaks, but deeply feels every moment of his story. Emma Bovary drew the attention of the psychoanalysts and it was inspired by the bovarysme, a theme that seems retrograde, but explains much of the contemporary. My goal is to analyze this highly controversial character, Emma Bovary. It has a singular peculiarity very well worked and constructed by Gustave Flaubert, that portrays the life of a provincial, french and bourgeois woman of century XIX before a mediocre and moralistic society that valued only the economic and social ascension. This analysis has as main objective to evaluate the context that influenced the author in the construction of the feminine character of the work and to identify the social, psychological and historical aspects based on a patriarchal society of the XIX century. And with this, I aim to understand the ideal of society that we have to this day, a society built by the State and the Church, through the eyes of a woman built in the middle of a class that was consolidated, the bourgeoisie

It feels (w)ri(gh)t(e) to me: feminist identity and academic writing

    No full text
This project examines the struggles many feminists encounter with traditional forms of academic writing and attempts to understand the work of Audre Lorde as offering a potential alternative mode of writing. The difficulties experienced include disciplinary conventions and expectations and the violent nature of argument as it is currently taught. Freedom of voice and the significance and role of audience also figure into this discussion. By focusing my close reading of Lorde’s work on “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power” and “Poetry is Not a Luxury,” I examine her use of the erotic as a mode of writing which allows us to connect to ourselves and to one another. These connections enable us to eliminate difference, hatred and discrimination within the text, thus further enabling any feminist thesis or project within it. Finally, by way of offering some sort of a conclusion, I propose the following three tools as crucial to enacting an erotic mode of writing: multiple subjectivity, embodied knowledge and a rhizomatic understanding of knowledge production. While each feminist subject must inhabit hir writing in hir own way, by honoring each difference in the process and writing through love, we allow feminist work to not only articulate but also embody the fight to end all oppressions.M.A.Includes bibliographical referencesby Casely Emma Coa
