No full textTranscript, 44 pp.After a brief review of his education and work experience at the Eckert-Mauchly company, Raymond Rosen Engineering, and Hughes Aircraft, Baran describes his working environment at RAND, as well as his initial interest in survivable communications. He then goes on to describe the evolution of his plan for distributed networks, the objections he received, the writing and distribution of his eleven-volume work, "On Distributed Communications," and his decision against implementation of the network in 1966. Baran also touches on his interaction with the later group at ARPA who were responsible for the development of the ARPANET, and the cumulative nature of the inventive process. Baran refers to seven supporting documents during the interview. These documents are not included with the interview transcript, but photocopies are available from CBI. This interview was recorded as part of a research project on the influence of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on the development of computer science in the United States.Baran, Paul. Također su prikazane provedene mjere zaštite od bolesti. Pepelnica lijeske (Phyllactinia corylea) je utvrđena samo 2020. godine na malom broju biljaka lijeske. Zahvaljujući pravovremeno odrađenim agrotehničkim mjerama i mjerama zaštite, gubitaka prinosa nije bilo.This paper describes the most important diseases of hazelnut and results of monitoring of the occurence of the hazelnut diseases on the family farm Baran Tomislav from Selci Đakovački in 2019 and 2020. Powdery mildew (lat. Phyllactinia guttata) was observed only in 2020 in a small selection of hazelnut seedlings. Thanks to the timely reflected agro-technical measures and protection measures, the condition and health condition of the plantations is very good
Reaction of Papaverine with Baran DiversinatesTM
No full textThe reaction of papaverine with a series of Baran DiversinatesTM is reported. Although the yields were low, it was possible to synthesize a small biodiscovery library using this plant alkaloid as a scaffold for late-stage C–H functionalization. Ten papaverine analogues (2–11), including seven new compounds, were synthesized. An unexpected radical-induced exchange reaction is reported where the dimethoxybenzyl group of papaverine was replaced by an alkyl group. This side reaction enabled the synthesis of additional novel fragments based on the isoquinoline scaffold, which is present in numerous natural products. Possible reasons for the poor yields in the DiversinateTM reactions with this particular scaffold are discussed

Nacida de la compasión por el sufrimiento del otro, la poesía de Baran supone una vindicación permanente del valor de la vida y de la importancia de que revisten los pequeños placeres que ésta nos ofrece, llegando en último término a plantearse el sentido de la existencia y el valor que para el hombre posee lo trascendente. La Poética de Baran se halla en consonancia con los presupuestos éticos que defiende a través de sus versos: con su estilo sencillo, directo, teñido de lirismo y de una amable ironía. Esta poesía busca ante todo entablar un diálogo con el lector, a quien invita a discutir las grandes cuestiones filosóficas que el poeta ha querido plantear en su obra.Traditionally regarded as apolitical, the poetical work by Józef Baran aclually represents a lucid and coherent attempt to vindicate human dignity. Consequently, an ultimate concern of this poetry is the reason of suffering, while a recurrent topic is a self-restrained sense of carpe diem, which often leads to an enlightening inquity into perennial metaphysical questions (life, death, eternity, God). Baran's Poetics rather reflects his main concerns and his personal ethics: his distinctive, personal style (plain, direct, sometimes ironic, sometimes lyric, resembies a dialogic resort, which consciously urges his reader to jointly discuss those philosophical questions raised by the author in his poems
