Edoardo Sanguineti's theatrical "travestimenti". Forms and styles
In a constant but almost underground way compared to the most famous lyric, non-fiction and narrative production, from the late '60s to the early 2000s Edoardo Sanguineti experiments and develops a particular theatrical genre, working on a variety of materials: the shakespearean "Sonnets", the ottave of "Furioso" and the terzine of "Divina Commedia", dramas such as "Faust" and "Sei personaggi in cerca d'autore", Gozzi's canovaccio "L'amore delle tre melarance".
In the early months of 2021 Inter-University Study Center Edoardo Sanguineti got new archival resources from Edoardo Sanguineti’s studio, then collected in the Eredi Sanguineti fund. In the collection of papers, ten typescript tiles stand out, similar to those intended for UTET dictionaries, but probably meant for other destination: indeed, in the ten unpublished tiles the author focused on Dante’s verses honored in Franco Sacchetti’s and Girolamo Savonarola’s works
Edoardo Mantega, Annìle
A review of Edoardo Mantega's novel Annìle, ovvero falsa fiaba della montagna di ferro (Il Maestrale, Nuoro, 2024).
Giving the mountain a voice is the successful challenge taken up by the author, who develops a story that is both fairy-tale-like and lyrical. Through the learning of language, thanks to Maddalena's teachings, the story reveals important meta-literary reflections on the unity of the subject and the question of the author's position with respect to the content of the narrative. The life and history of the mountain are depicted up to the fire that devastated it.Una recensione studio sul romanzo di Edoardo Mantega Annìle, ovvero falsa fiaba della montagna di ferro, (Il Maestrale, Nuoro 2024).

Abstract
PURPOSE: To evaluate the role of topical mitomycin C in corneal wound healing (CWH) after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in highly myopic eyes.
DESIGN: Prospective, double-masked, randomized clinical trial.
PARTICIPANTS: Seventy-two eyes of 36 patients affected by high (>7 diopters) myopia.
METHODS: In each patient, one eye was randomly assigned to PRK with intraoperative topical 0.02% mitomycin C application, and the fellow eye was treated with a placebo. Postoperatively, mitomycin C-treated eyes received artificial tears (3 times daily, tapered in 3 months), whereas the fellow eye was treated with fluorometholone sodium 2% and artificial tears (3 times daily, tapered in 3 months).
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), contrast sensitivity, manifest refraction, and biomicroscopy. Contrast sensitivity was determined using the Pelli-Robson chart. Corneal confocal microscopy documented CWH.
RESULTS: Mean follow-up was 18 months (range, 12-36). No side effects or toxic effects were documented. At 12-month follow-up examination, UCVAs (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) were 0.4+/-0.48 and 0.5+/-0.53 (P = .03) in mitomycin C-treated eyes and corticosteroid-treated eyes, respectively. At 1 year, corneal haze developed in 20% of corticosteroid-treated eyes, versus 0% of mitomycin C-treated eyes. At 12, 24, and 36 months, corneal confocal microscopy showed activated keratocytes and extracellular matrix significantly more evident in untreated eyes (Ps = 0.004, 0.024, and 0.046, respectively).
CONCLUSION: Topical intraoperative application of 0.02% mitomycin C can reduce haze formation in highly myopic eyes undergoing PRK.

The European Employment Strategy as Enhanced Coordination: A holistic approach to the EU social commitment
The article proposes a holistic approach to the European Employment Strategy, from a conceptual, structural and functional point of view, within the framework of what the Author calls the Enhanced Coordination of EU and national Employment policies. The holistic approach encompasses all the stages of life of the human being, from education to retirement, in the perspective of guaranteeing social inclusion through work, focusing on the flexicurity pathway. In order to do this, the Author advocates for the need of earmarking investment at EU and national levels in favour of inclusive growth within the Stability Pact. </jats:p
Un articolo perduto e una lettera ritrovata. Carteggio Contini-Cecchi-Raimondi
When Giuseppe Raimondi’s novel Giuseppe in Italia was published by Mondadori, in April 1949,
the author and his friends Gianfranco Contini and Emilio Cecchi began a period of intense correspondence.
Such correspondence, as presented herein, from May to August 1949, is evidence
of the deep friendship that existed in the relations between the three protagonists of Italian
literary culture and documents a “disagreement” between the great philologist and the author
of Pesci rossi which, in the light of some new letters, confirms again the rigour and ethical-moral
strictness which Contini always stood by, as much in his work as in his life
«Sortes biblicae» e tradizioni agiografiche fra IV e VI secolo
The use of the divinatory practice of the «sortes biblicae», direct heir of the ancient rhapsodomancy («sortes Homericae, sortes Vergilianae»), is frequently documented in the hagiographical sources between the fourth and the sixth centuries. The most famous episode of bibliomancy is transmitted by the eighth book of Augustine’s «Confessiones» («tolle, lege»). As narrated by his biographer Sulpicius Severus, also the episcopal election of Martin of Tours was decided by opening at random the book of Psalms. This hagiographical evidence remains, indeed, very problematic. Therefore, the early Church’s condemnation of the «sortes sanctorum» – commonly, but incorrectly, understood as a synonym for the divinatory consultation of the Bible – needs to be better explained
Who is afraid of unions representation? Some considerations on the SAP SE case in the light of EU Labour Law.
The contribution focuses on the Bundesarbeitsgericht’s question to the Court of Justice whether a provision according to which, in the case where an SE with its registered office in Germany is established by means of transformation, a separate selection procedure for persons nominated by trade unions for a certain number of supervisory board members representing the employees must be guaranteed (§ 21(6) SEBG), is compatible with Article 4(4) of Council Directive 2001/86/EC of 8 October 2001 supplementing the Statute for a European company with regard to the involvement of employees. In the view of the Author the answer should be in the sense of compatibility
Urban Road Pricing: A Comparative Study on the Experiences of London, Stockholm and Milan
AbstractUrban road pricing schemes have been designed in order to reduce externalities generated by traffic. Main impacts regard: time loss due to congestion, local pollution, noise, contribution to climate change caused by emissions of GHGs, pavement costs and road damages, increase in accidents risks, extra-fuel consumption, decrease in quality of life. Moreover road pricing schemes generate public revenues. The paper performs a comparative evaluation of the three main experiences of urban road pricing in Europe: London (in operations since 2003), Stockholm (in operations since 2007, after a period of trial in 2006) and Milan (in operations since 2008, with a shift from pollution to congestion charge in 2012). Since their launch, the schemes have been adjusted in terms of amount of charge, area of application and other features. The schemes have been able to reduce negative externalities generated by traffic, such as accidents, congestion and emissions, up to different levels. A comparative analysis of the three schemes is provided. Determinants of differences in the effectiveness of the schemes are evaluated with a particular focus on elasticity of use of private vehicles to charge. The results can be useful to design well targeted congestion charge schemes and to assess their efficacy
