PARADOXES OF EDUCATION: MINOR PETRUSHA GRINYOV
In this article A. S. Pushkin’s views on education problems are considered. Rejecting practically all educational institutes of the time, A. S. Pushkin demanded to forbid home education as «the most immoral». However, in his works the whole gallery of the literary heroes who have spent the childhood among «holops» is presented (Tatyana Larina, Masha Dubrovskaya, Pyotr Grinyov etc.), that allows to analyze paradoxes of home education in Pushkin’s works. In this regard the author of the article raises the question of the importance of Mitrofanushka image for understanding the image of Pushkin’s «minor» of the same period — Petrusha Grinyov – in the historical novel «The Captain’s Daughter». The precedentiality of Mitrofanushka image strengthened by the author allows A. S. Pushkin not only to emphasize typicalness of life of the minor of the 18th century, but also to point out the divergences in education which leads to formation of the personality that can watch his «honor while young», despite all «revolutions and returns» in Russian social life and in all circumstances of senseless and merciless Russian rebellion. On the other hand, Pyotr Grinyov’s mature standpoint on Petrusha’s «infantile years» allows him to appeal to sources of education again and to analyze all nuances of «home education» of people of honor

Search for 2 beta processes in Zn-64 with the help of ZnWO4 crystal scintillator
AbstractDouble beta processes in 64Zn were searched for with the help of a low background ZnWO4 crystal scintillator (mass of 117 g) at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories of the INFN. Total time of measurements was 1902 h. New improved half-life limits on different modes of double electron capture and electron capture with positron emission were established as: T1/22ν2K⩾6.2×1018 yr, T1/20ν2K⩾4.0×1018 yr, T1/20ν2ε⩾3.4×1018 yr, T1/22νεβ+⩾2.1×1020 yr, and T1/20νεβ+⩾2.2×1020 yr, all at 90% C.L

Borate single crystals for polyfunctional applications: production and properties
Literature data and results of authors' studies are rewieved concerning structure, growing conditions, non-linear optical, piezoelectric and spectral characteristics of borate single crystals Li₂B₄O₇, LiB₃O₅, b-BaB₂O₄, LaB₃O₆, Li₆Gd(BO₃)₃. A high scintillation efficiency of LaB₃O₆ and Li₆Gd(BO₃)₃:Ce single crystals as well as the high thermostimulated luminescence yield of Li₂B₄O₇: (Ce, Eu, Tm) ones have been demonstrated.Authors are thankful to their colleagues, Dr. E.F. Dolzhenkova, Dr. T.I. Korshikova, A.N. Shekhovtsov and L.A. Grin' for their useful assistance in the preparation of this article
Luminescence and radiation-induced defects in Li₂B₄O₇:Eu single crystals
Thermostimulated luminescence (TSL) of Li₂B₄O₇ and Li₂B₄O₇:Eu single crystals in the temperature range 290-650K has been studied. Lithium tetraborate (LTB) doped with europium has been found to favour a further increase of the light sum storage of electron-captured centres. Radiation-induced defects and their participation in recombination process in LTB:Eu are considered. Suggestions about character of Eu site in the host lattice based on the photoluminescence spectral data are discussed. The electron structure of LTB crystals measured by XPS method is presented

Research and Development of ZnBO4 (B = W, Mo) Crystal Scintillators for Dark Matter and Double Beta Decay Searching
Oxide crystal scintillators play a considerable role in fundamental and applied researches. However, working out of new generation of high-sensitivity equipment and new methods of research puts higher requirements. The ZnBO 4 (B = W, Mo) crystals were grown from charge in platinum crucibles with high frequency heating, using the Czochraiski method. The raw powder with optimum composition was prepared by solid phase high temperature synthesis using ZnO and BO3 (B = W,Mo) with 4-5N purity. Single crystals with sizes up to ∅ 50× 100 mm were grown and scintillation elements of various sizes and shapes (cylinders, rectangular and hexahedron prisms) were produced. High spectrometric characteristics were obtained for ZnWO4:R = 8-10% under excitation by 137Cs [Eγ= 662 keV), low radiation background (less than 0.2 mBq/kg) and low afterglow (0.002%, 20 ms after excitation). The obtained results demonstrate good prospects for ZnWO 4 and ZnM0O4 crystal scintillators for application in low-count rate experiments, searching for double beta decay processes, interaction with dark matter particles, and also studies of rare decay processes. The material has also a, good potential for application in modern tomography, scintillation bolometers and for other major researches using scintillators
