Allama Iqbal is one of the greatest poets of Urdu literature. His poetry shows a continuous evolution in thought, content and form. He expressed himself in both Urdu and Persian languages. When his first Urdu book of poetry "Baang e Draa" was published, its introduction was written by sheikh Sir Abdul Qadir, a pioneer of Modern Urdu Literature and editor of "Makhzan". He divided Iqbal's poetry in three phases according to the three parts of poetry in Baang e Draa. Since then Urdu Critics have been dividing Iqbal's poetry in three parts but they forget that Baang e Draa was published in 1924. He wrote and published more Urdu poetry after that in "Baal e Jibreel", "Zarb e Kaleem" and "Armaghaan e Hijaaz" and show different phases of his poetry in diction, thought and form. These books were not taken into account by Sir Abdul Qadir. Now Dr. Azmat Rubab reviews the entire poetic works of Iqbal and indicates that there are 5 phases in Iqbal's Poetry

Ghalib never arranged or published his complete works as such during his lifetime. His Urdu Diwan is actually a selection from his entire poetical work and this selection is variously ascribed to him or to his close friends. This Diwan was published five times but every time the contents differ from each other. Many of Ghalib's verses are included in various Tazkiras, Collections and Anthologies and often-time in letters written to different persons. The dates of these are known or can be estimated and worked out. Based on these dates many researchers have tried to arrange his poetical works in what they call as "historical arrangement". But this term is a fallacy as these dates pertain to the publications of different editions, anthologies and letters. These can not be described as the dates of the composition of his verses. To be historically arranged, the verses have to be arrange in the order in which they were created. In this article, the author has drawn the attention to this literaryprevalent fallacy.
