    MONUMEN PALAGAN TUMPAK RINJING DAN INGATAN MASYARAKAT KABUPATEN PACITAN ATAS REVOLUSI FISIK 1949

    The Palagan Tumpak Rinjing Monument is a symbol of preserving memory for the events of the 1949 Physical Revolution in Pacitan Regency. In general, this research aims to describe the historical narrative behind the construction of the Palagan Tumpak Rinjing Monument and collective memory of 1949 Physical Revolution symbolized in the monument. This study uses a qualitative method, in which the researcher collects information through interview with relevant informants by purposive sampling technique and studies of some supporting literature. The results showed that the events behind the construction of the Palagan Tumpak Rinjing Monument was local people's resistance to the Dutch troops during Physical Revolution in several parts of Indonesia. However, the monument that was built three decades after the incident displays the icons of General Soedirman and B. S. Riyadi. It then affects the formation of collective memory of the people who tend to forget the role of local fighters and see the big man as central figures who contributed to heroic events around them. Monumen Palagan Tumpak Rinjing adalah simbol melestarikan memori untuk peristiwa Revolusi Fisik 1949 di Kabupaten Pacitan. Secara umum, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan narasi sejarah di balik pembangunan Monumen Palagan Tumpak Rinjing dan memori kolektif Revolusi Fisik 1949 yang dilambangkan dalam monumen. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, di mana peneliti mengumpulkan informasi melalui wawancara dengan informan yang relevan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan studi dari beberapa literatur pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peristiwa di balik pembangunan Monumen Palagan Tumpak Rinjing adalah perlawanan masyarakat setempat terhadap pasukan Belanda selama Revolusi Fisik di beberapa bagian Indonesia. Namun, monumen yang dibangun tiga dekade setelah kejadian menampilkan ikon Jenderal Soedirman dan B. S. Riyadi. Ini kemudian mempengaruhi pembentukan memori kolektif dari orang-orang yang cenderung melupakan peran pejuang lokal dan melihat orang besar sebagai tokoh sentral yang berkontribusi pada peristiwa heroik di sekitar mereka

    The Open Society by Karl Popper is an idea that opposes any kind of oppression and to-talitarianism, so that what is called an open society will be realized, a society that priori-tizes freedom but remains in the corridor of law and ethics. The Open Society is an idea that opposes socialism and capitalism at the same time. As an important idea in the modern age, The Open Society Popper must be able to use in life, just like knowledge that has an axiological basis. This idea is also closely related to democracy which up-holds individual freedom while still being controlled by law. On the one hand, The Open Society can be implemented in the education democracy movement, which is then called multicultural education, with kind of values that accommodate the freedom and equality of individual rights in society. The purpose of this study is to discuss the idea of The Open Society and its relevance to historical education, especially regarding multiculturalism. This discussion was reviewed using the literature study method. The results of this analysis show that The Open Society Popper can be used as a basis for multicultural education because it gives high respect to individual freedom and opposes domination by certain groups, while still respecting the law.Open Society menurut Karl Popper adalah sebuah gagasan yang menentang segala bentuk penindasan dan totalitarianisme, sehingga akan terwujud apa yang disebut masyarakat terbuka, masyarakat yang mengutamakan kebebasan namun tetap dalam koridor hukum dan etika. Masyarakat Terbuka adalah sebuah ide yang menentang sosialisme dan kapitalisme pada saat yang bersamaan. Sebagai sebuah ide penting di era modern, The Open Society Popper harus dapat digunakan dalam kehidupan, seperti halnya pengetahuan yang memiliki landasan aksiologis. Gagasan ini juga erat kaitannya dengan demokrasi yang menjunjung tinggi kebebasan individu dengan tetap dikendalikan oleh hukum. Di satu sisi, Masyarakat Terbuka dapat diimplementasikan dalam gerakan demokrasi pendidikan, yang kemudian disebut pendidikan multikultural, dengan nilai-nilai yang mengakomodasi kebebasan dan persamaan hak individu dalam masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membahas mengenai gagasan The Open Society dan relevansinya dengan pendidikan sejarah, khususnya perihal multikulturalisme. Pembahasan ini dikaji menggunakan metode studi pustaka. Hasil analisis i menunjukkan bahwa The Open Society Popper dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai landasan pendidikan multikultural karena memberikan penghargaan yang tinggi terhadap kebebasan individu dan menentang penguasaan oleh kelompok tertentu, dengan tetap hormat pada hukum

    This research aims to analyze the discourse of the East Timor conflict presented in post New Order history textbooks. It will also explore the background of its presentation. This research is departing from the facts that: first, During the 1975-1999, the Indonesian military occupied East Timor (often called integration by the Indonesian government) and was involved in a conflict related to human rights violations. Second, the conflict is part of Indonesian history that should be conveyed and become a lesson. Thus, it is necessary to explore how the curriculum and history textbooks produce and reproduce discourse related to the East Timor conflict. This research is expected to be a consideration in the process of updating the history curriculum to be more critical and open to marginalized narratives. The result show that the presentation of the East Timor conflict in post-New Order history textbooks tends to position the Indonesian government as the primary actor and ignores the complex roots of the problem. The balanced narrative is deemed unacceptable to the wider public. This is inextricably linked to the prevailing discourse that the conflict between East Timor and Indonesia was limited about the separation from the republic. However, the underlying issues involving human rights violations have never been resolved justly

    Ethno-Politics : The Consequences of Ethnic Discrimination for Latino Ethnic Identity Orientation and Ethno-Mobilization

    This compilation thesis is a study of Latino migrants and Latino minority members, mainly in USA, and also in Sweden. The three theoretical and the two empirical studies cover a long period and are grounded in ethnicity as an established study field. Its overarching research question is the following: What are the consequences of ethnic discrimination for the ethnic identity orientation of Latino migrants and Latino minority members? The concept of the author, ethnic hurts, is central to the subjective experience of discrimination against Latino people. The concepts from the ethnicity field, Study I were used in empirical Study II. The resulting theoretical model from Study II to explain the ethnic identity orientation of Mexican Americans was used as hypothesis in the study of ethnic identity changes of elderly Latinas and Latinos in Sweden in Study III. For historical and comparative reasons, Study IV looks at the role of racial, national, class, and ethnic inequalities in the debate on citizenship and national identity in post-colonial societies in Latin America, the homelands of the Latino migrants. This also has consequences in the meeting of Latino migrants with the American society. The final Study V examines the socio-genesis of ethno-politics by looking at ethno-mobilization both of persons with Latino background, and of persons with white mainly working-class background, as they respond to changes in American society. One of the main results is a typology of integration with the groups Traditional, Bi-cultural, Marginal and Assimilated among Latin migrants and minority members. Not only ethnic discrimination from society lies behind this diversity, but also ethnic experience here defined as the quality of the emotional relations with family and other representatives of the parental ethnic group.     Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan pada mata pelajaran Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik Mesin materi alat ukur mekanik presisi terdapat sejumlah siswa yang memperoleh nilai dibawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimun (KKM). Hal ini mendorong penulis untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu menghasilkan media pembelajaran Google sites yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMK pada materi alat ukur mekanik presisi. Tujuan khusus pada penelitian ini yaitu, (1) mengetahui karakteristik media pembelajaran Google Sites, (2) menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik mesin setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran Google Sites, (3) mengetahui respon siswa ketika pembelajaran berlangsung menggunakan media pembelajaran Google Sites. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pengembangan media yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan desain PPE (Planning, Production, Evaluation), sedangkan metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam implementasi media adalah pre-ekperimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa X TP B berjumlah 33 orang, yang diambil dengan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran Google Sites mempunyai karakteristik yaitu materi dapat berupa teks, gambar, video serta unsur multimedia lain seperti latihan soal dan forum diskusi, penggunaan Google Sites dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta penggunaan Google Sites mendapatkan respon sangat positif. Diharapkan hasil temuan pada penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan untuk penelitian selanjutnya terutama dalam memilih media pembelajaran yang tepat. Based on observations in the Basic Mechanical Engineering subject of precision mechanical measuring instruments, there are a number of students who get scores below the Minimun Completeness Criteria (KKM). This encourages the author to develop learning media that can improve student learning outcomes. The main objective in this study is to produce Google sites learning media that are suitable for use to improve the learning outcomes of vocational students on precision mechanical measuring instruments. The specific objectives in this study are, (1) knowing the characteristics of Google Sites learning media, (2) analyzing the improvement of student learning outcomes in basic mechanical engineering work lessons after using Google Sites learning media, (3) knowing student responses when learning takes place using Google Sites learning media. The method applied in media development is Research and Development (R&D) with PPE (Planning, Production, Evaluation) design, while the research method used in media implementation is pre-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were X TP B students totaling 33 people, who were taken by purposive sampling. The results showed that Google Sites learning media has characteristics, namely material can be in the form of text, images, videos and other multimedia elements such as practice questions and discussion forums, the use of Google Sites can improve student learning outcomes and the use of Google Sites gets a very positive response. It is hoped that the findings in this study can be a reference for further research, especially in choosing the right learning media

    Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of the Lung Mimicking Spinal Tuberculosis

    Clinically, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish an infection of the spine from a metastasis. Spinal tuberculosis is common according to its endemic region and adenocarcinoma of the lung is also rising in the incidence worldwide. Similar presentations, with unknown primary, clinical findings and hematological investigations rarely conclude a true diagnosis. Radiologically, the hallmark of spinal infection is erosion of adjacent vertebral endplates and narrowing of the disc space with or without a paravertebral shadow. Metastasis typically does not involve the disc space with erosion of the adjacent vertebral endplates. It usually presents as a lytic/sclerotic lesion in the vertebral body or “winkle owl” sign. These distinguishing features of infection versus metastasis are not certainties. Biopsy is mandatory whenever in doubt or patient is not responded with provisional treatment. The author presents a case with so-called radiological features of spinal tuberculosis infection, which turns out to be a metastatic adenocarcinoma of the lung

    Sistem Monitoring Tahfidzul Quran Berbasis Web

    Advances in technological development have brought innovation into educational activities, one of which is the Tahfidzul Qur'an activity at the Islamic Boarding School, where this activity still has several things that influence obstacles such as limited time and teachers, so an optimal system is needed to help smooth the continuity of this activity. In this research the author aims to develop a Tahfidzul Qur'an Monitoring System using the Agile method. This system is designed to facilitate the process of depositing students' memorization in a modern way and assist ustads in monitoring students' progress through digitally documented memorization history. This system development uses PHP 8 technology as the main programming language, with support from the Laravel version 10 framework to speed up the development process. Phpmyadmin/mysql is used as a data storage tool in the form of a database, and XAMPP is used as a local development platform. System testing is carried out using the black box method with system output results in accordance with the objectives. The System Usability Scale test results from 30 respondents with 3 roles, namely admin, ustad, and santri, got a score of 78.8 with an acceptable acceptance level
