    The purpose of this study is to explore the research on the application of design elements by combining multiple materials with ceramic tea sets. This research emphasizes the design elements of combining multiple materials with ceramic tea sets mainly in the analysis and study of material types, process technology, and consumers' aesthetic demands. This project adopts a qualitative research method because it is suitable for studying the innovative elements in contemporary ceramic tea set design, and discovering the visual and technological innovation of integrating comprehensive materials into ceramic tea sets; specifically, this research analyses the application of the design elements of shape, colour, and material in combining multiple materials with ceramic tea sets, and examines the styling principles of ceramic tea set design, the forms of expression, and their influencing factors in this analysis. Research. In general, this study will summarise some useful design principles and development trends for modern ceramic tea set design. It will provide a methodology and theoretical reference for the design of practical ceramic tea ware and hopefully promote the development of ceramic tea ware design.     A significant amount of solid waste is dumped by the ceramics sector, which is a worry for the environment. As well known, Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia is the location to a large ceramics industry. In Malaysia, there are landfills, but not all of them can manage solid waste perfectly. As a result, many waste disposal contractors look down on solid waste management such as for Plaster of Paris (POP). This is even more complicated when there are a handful of them who take the easy way out by disposing of POP waste by planting or dumping it into rivers and seas. This causes various problems to the environment and health. The aim of this study is to identify how to recycle waste mould into new plaster without affecting their casting performance. This paper shows the study of the effect of characteristics Recycle Plaster of Paris (RPOP) compared to New Plaster of Paris (NPOP). Drying temperatures are performed at (150℃,160℃,170℃,180℃ and 190℃) for RPOP and use the same 60% of material and 40% of water ratio and tests for porosity, absorption, setting times and particle size are performed. The results indicate that all samples of Recycled Plaster of Paris performed well and can function similarly to New Plaster of Paris at different temperatures

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Glazes are put onto ceramic to colour, or protect the surface, allowing it to be used for many different functions (Fairbairn, 1999). There are many types of glazes, designed for a variety of applications and firing at different temperature ranges such as special effects glazes like matt glazes, satin glaze, crystalline glaze, crackle glaze and others. There is also a wide variance in the appearance of finished glazes. That glazes must be designed to fit a specification (Taylor & Bull, 1986). There are two major types of crystalline glazes. Micro crystalline, which have crystals so small that need a microscope to see, and macro crystalline, which have crystals large enough to be seen with the naked eye. The type of glaze which is central to this study is the macro crystalline glaze or more commonly, the crystalline glaze. However, since the beginning of the 19th century ago until now, crystalline glaze is gaining attention as a coating on the ceramic body to be able to provide aesthetic value to the body. In addition, many studies have been carried out in respect of these glazes (Creber, 1997; Karasu et al., 2001; Karasu et al., 2000; Karasu & Turan, 2002; Knowles & Freeman, 2004). Apart from identifying the effects of adding rice straw ash (RSA) in crystalline glaze, this research was conducted to identify a method that may reduce the firing temperature of crystalline glaze but still be able to produce crystal formation with various patterns. Therefore, the use of certain raw materials in glaze formulations has been identified as one of the appropriate methods. The use of alkali metals such as lithium, sodium, and potassium as well as alkaline earth metals calcium, barium, magnesium, and strontium are found to be suitable because they act as flux. Generally, the function of flux is to lower the melting point of frit and glaze by adding fluidity to Tgloss as well as increasing production of glaze. Crystalline glaze is chemically known as zinc-silicate crystals. According to Draney, (1969), he said in his study about macro crystalline glaze, crystals form an ionic bond between zinc and silica. Hence, silica is course of the principal acidic oxide and the basis of all glazes since it is a glass former. In crystalline glazes silica functions as it does in conventional glazes and is proportioned to control the melting temperature of the glaze. Silica is also bond with zinc oxide to form the crystalline seed structure. From that, this study is to identify the possibility of replacing conventional silica in crystalline glaze formulation with rice straw ash

    Composition of Various Percentages of Terracotta Clay as Colourant Glaze

    Terracotta is valuable for its mineral content, which produces pigments for coloring ceramic bodies and glazes. Unlike commercial colors, terracotta's natural minerals make it unique. This study explores the potential use of local terracotta clay in transparent glaze formulations. Methods like clay powder percentages, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence tests, electron scanning, and microscope analysis (SEM) are used to examine the clay elements' morphology and structure. The addition of terracotta clay powder in proportions (20-50%) rendered the glaze translucent. Samples were applied on porcelain and fired at gloss temperatures (1200°C).     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
