"Integration" - Reflections on an European Concept of Minority Politics from an European-Jewish Perspective
Eastern Orthodox perspectives on violence
Abstract: In the post-communist era, the contemporary national Eastern Orthodox churches have often been accused of taking either direct or ideological part in violence across Eastern Europe. In several scholarly analyses, the churches have been linked with ethnic and national violence. They have thus been identified as an ideological root for a distinctive ethno-religious nationalism either blocking the way for a pluralistic society or simply defying it. These cases of violence and conflicts, as well as their subsequent analysis, only point to a practical and visible manifestation of conflicts, and they therefore don’t answer a broader theological question, namely the question of the general position of the Eastern Orthodox churches regarding violence. This article will address this broader question of what the Orthodox churches’ position is on violence and discuss the co-relation and intersection between Orthodoxy and violence. The Orthodox perspectives and positions on religion and violence will be drawn from concrete examples of its historical and contemporary theological teachings
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Institutional representation of Islam in Austria
This study includes an analysis of Muslims and their institutions in Austria.
The Austrian state is one of the European countries that officially recognize
Islam. The difference from other countries is that it officially accepted Islam
at the beginning of the 20th century before a mass Muslim immigration to
this country. However, depending on the development of Muslim migration
and population over time, different arrangements have been made and today
has come. Despite this early recognition, the Austrian Muslims also
experience the problems that exist in many European countries. There are
reasons for both Muslim community and Austrian society and politics

The recognition of Islam as a public corporation in Austria for over 100 years offers Islamic organizations a special infrastructure for their religious, cultural, economic and political activities. Under the umbrella organization of IGGiÖ as the official representative of Muslim organizations, various ethnic-religious societies and associations have established mosques as well as other institutions, such as schools and kindergartens, mainly for their ethnic-religious groups. In recent years, the integration of these ethnic-religious groups has increasingly become the focus of Austria’s integration policy.Among these societies and associations, ATIB, with its dependence on the Bureau of the Turkish Religious Directorate [Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı], has in recent years been seen as a particular challenge for the settlement of Islamic organizations in Austria. This contribution deals with Diyanet’s political and religious influence on the political and religious affairs of the Turkish population in Austria through the ATIB mosques and the related political consequences
Challenges of the Institutionalization of Same Sex Marriage for Religious Pluralism in Denmark
The Danish religious landscape has been significantly transformed, especially during the last three decades. This transformation is marked by the shift from near religious hegemony towards a much more diverse religious population. Originally, the Danish Lutheran state church was closely intertwined with the governmental administration of the country after the reformation in Denmark of 1536 and the peace at Westphalia in 1648
