La menzione degli oggetti nella casa di Seroux d’Agincourt è tratta dalla Descrizione de Beni Ereditari della bo: Mem. Sig. Cavaliere Gio: Batta, Luigi, Giorgio Seroux d’Agincourt [Roma, Archivio di Stato, Trenta notai capitolini, Ufficio 9, vol. 950, ff. 369r-374v, 389r-391r] del 1814.
Le parole che descrivono lo stato d’animo del protagonista a Roma, che si sente inondato di luce come se una dracma si fosse poggiata sulla sua retina, sono liberamente ispirate a una poesia di Iosif Brodskij.

The willingness to pay for Renewable Energy Sources (RES): the case of Italy with different survey approaches and under different EU “climate vision”. First results.
No full textIn reference to the “Renewable Sources” EU Directive 2001/77/CE the Italian goal, for 2010, is to attain the share of 22% in RES electricity production. In such context it becomes crucial to explore the existence of consumer’s Willingness to Pay (WTP) in order to use green energy in the electricity production. This study is founded on a national survey with 1601 phone interviews made, in Italy, at the end of November 2006. This paper focus much on three issues. First one, how the different elicitation affects respondents choices, second one on the relationship between a “single point value” and “a valuation distribution” and finally on the gaps between different formats as: bidding game and dichotomous referendum (single bounded) contingent valuation method. In all the elicitations formats we make a “certainty correction” proposing five degree of acceptance: definitely yes and no (DY, DN), probably yes and no (PY, PN) and don’t know (DK). In order to apply the quantitative analysis, the original dataset has been appropriately treated, recoding DK, PN and PY responses. With regard to the results we found a significant path dependences in respondents answers due to the elicitation formats. Another important result is that also in “conservative” way we found a substantial willingness of consumers to partially cover the cost of Italian RES goal.bidding game, contingent valuation, renewable energy sources, descending and ascending elicitation format

No full textIl capitolo esamina il testo che prescrisse la forma di governo dell'effimera repubblica sorta a bergamo e provincia con la cacciata dell'ufficiale veneto e l'occupazione francese nella primavera del 1797. Si tratta di una norma che sembra recepire suggestioni inglesi e americane nel preambolo. In parziale adesione al principio democratico, essa prevede un organo rappresentativo dell'intera provincia-stato, con limitate attribuzioni legislative e concepito in base a un'idea ancora parzialmente corporativa della rappresentanza. In linea con un orientamento già manifestato da Bonaparte sotto il Direttorio, l'architettura della piccola repubblica esalta il ruolo dell'organo di governo, ovvero la Municipalità cittadina, che in questa breve esperienza è organo della sovranità, sia pure sotto il controllo del potere militare francese

Diabetic Retinopathy: Are lncRNAs New Molecular Players and Targets?
No full textThe growing incidence of diabetes mellitus worldwide implies the increasing prevalence of several related macro- (e.g., hypertension and atherosclerosis) and micro-vascular (e.g., nephropathy and retinopathy) complications. Notably, diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of blindness in older diabetic patients and can occur with different degrees of severity. Chronic hyperglycemia is the main determinant of the functional damage of retinal cells. The oxidative stress, inflammatory factors and vascular endothelial growth factor signaling have been widely reported as contributors of DR onset and progression, and an emerging role has been described for different classes of non-coding RNA, including several long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Here, we report the main results of all research articles (i.e., 150) listed on PubMed database from 2014 to 2022 regarding the putative role of lncRNAs in DR, including small nucleolar RNA host genes (SNHGs). Particularly, in this review we describe all lncRNAs and SNHGs with altered expression in DR and related contexts, discussing their association with DR outcomes, their mechanism of action related to DR, the molecular/functional effects, as well as the biological and experimental contexts. Thus, herein we provide an overview of the current state of knowledge regarding the putative involvement of 50 lncRNAs and SNHGs in the pathogenesis of DR, highlighting their potential as therapeutic targets or biomarkers for improving the clinical management of DR
