    Implementation of Discovery Learning Model by Using Scientific Approach to Improve Students’ Natural Sciences Learning Competence in Grade VII SMPN 21 Padang

    Purpose of the research was to improve grade VII students’ learning competence in SMPN 21 Padang in academic year 2017/2018 by using implementation of discovery learning model in materials of living organization and interaction between organisms and their environment. This research was a classroom action research done in two cycles. Every cycles consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The subject was class VII8 of SMPN 21 Padang in academic year 2017/2018. Data sources were teacher and students. Techniques of data collection were through test and observation sheets. The collected data were analyzed in qualitative descriptive. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that the implementation of discovery learning model can improve students’ learning competence. The result showed that percentage of affective competence in pre-Cycle was 79.30%, in cycle I was 81.26%, and in cycle II was 88.13%. Students’ psychomotor competence in pre-Cycle was 65.20%, in cycle I was 72.33%, and in cycle II was 74.00%. While, students’ cognitive competence in pre-Cycle was 66.43%, in cycle I was 75.89%, and cycle II was 83.39

    Biology learning is expected to be a mean to learn self, environment and advance development prospects in daily lives. Beside that, it can serve biological objects from molecules level to individual level, even to ecosystem level and life in universe. Therefore, it needs to optimize learning media to help students learn Biology besides the use of books or teachers’ explanation. Purpose of the research was to explain interactive multimedia validity, practicality and effectivity about Biology learning material for grade XI Senior High School students. This research was a developmental research by using Plomp design. The model is consisted of three phases, which are preliminary research phase, development or prototype phase, and assessment phase. Instruments of data collection were validity sheets, practicality sheet by teachers and students, observation sheets, and objective test. Techniques of data analysis were Kolmogrof Smirnov test to normality test, Levene test to homogeneity test and T-test to hypothesis test. The finding showed that multimedia got score of 81%, which is in very valid criteria. The result of teacher’s practicality test was 90.60% and students’ practicality test was 89.21%. It means multimedia is in very practical category. The result of multimedia effectivity test in cognitive, affective and psychomotor competences showed that the developed multimedia was in very effective criteria. Sumber data primer, yaitu terapis dank lien di klinik hipnoterapi lembaga Anhar Foundation Kota Makassar. Anharu Haris dijadikan sebagai informan kunci, sedangkan Abdul Razak Haris, Mahdi Sahdani, Mirna, Hendra Susanto, dan Min Ibadiati dijadikan sebagai informan tambahan. Sumber data sekunder dalam penelitian ini yaitu buku, internet, laporan dan dokumentasi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan dokumentasi.     The result of observation done in grade VIII of SMPN 5Bukittinggi shows that students' cognitive competence in learning Natural Science (IPA) is still low. An effort to overcome the problem is by using Sheet PowerPoint in Mind Map in learning process. Purpose of the research was to know the effect of Sheet PowerPoint inMind Maptowards students' cognitive competence. It was a quasi experimental research. The population was all of grade VIII students in SMPN 5 Bukittinggi registered in first semester in academic year 2016/2017. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. As a result, VIII 3 was as experimental class and VIII 2 was as control class. The instruments used were multiple-choice test and observation sheets. To test hypotheses, technique of data analysis used was T-test. Based on the finding of data analysis and discussion, it is concluded that cognitive competence of students who learned by using Sheet PowerPoint in Mind Map is better than students who learned without using Sheet PowerPointinMind Map

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Adan ya sekian banyak pahlawan bangsa dengan pelbagai kriterianya itu tentu bersurnber dari adan ya perlawanan yang pernah dilakukan terhadap penjajahan bangsa asing, terutama bangsa Belanda. Di daerah Lampung juga telah terjadi berbagai bentuk perlawanan yang dilakukan oleh penduduk setempat pada masa lampau. Secara terperinci dan jelas memang daerah Lampung tidak mempunyai catatan yang lengkap. Perlawanan Indra Kesuma pada abad ke-17 hanya diungkapkan beberapa kali saja dalarn sejarah perlawanan yang pemah di catat. Demikian juga perlawanan Batin Mangunang hampir tidak banyak yang diungkapkan. Yang agak banyak dan lengkap ialah perlawanan Raden Intan I. Raden Imba dan Raden Intan II. Perlawanan pada zaman Jepang hampir tidak ada yang dapat diungkapkan karena rakyat di daerah Lampung betul -betul lumpuh karena terkesima oleh janji-janji Jepang bahwa mereka akan mengalami nasib yang lebih baik daripada daJam penjajahan Belanda
