    Rural areas far from the city, people with less than average income have the right to get adequate sources of electrical energy. The availability of electricity is compulsory for economic productivity, supporting education and health. The construction of piko-hydroelectric power plant is one solution for this purpose. The advantages are affordable construction and maintenance costs as well as transferable technology to villagers. The object of devotion in Batulayang Village is technology transfer to the community. This activity received a response and enthusiasm from residents and the local administrator.Daerah terpencil merupakan kawasan pedesaan yang terisolasi dari pusat pertumbuhan atau daerah lain akibat tidak memiliki atau kekurangan sarana (infrastruktur) perhubungandarat, sehingga menghambat pertumbuhan atau perkembangan kawasan. Masyarakat yang tertinggal di daerah terpencil merupakan masyarakat dengan tingkat penghasilan jauh dibawah rata-rata penghasilan yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat lain yang tinggal di daerah dengan akses pembangunan dan transportasi yang lebih baik. Dalam meningkatkan mutu kehidupan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat pedesaan, tidak dipungkiri energi listrik memiliki perananyang sangat besar. Kesediaan listrik di pedesaan sebagai salah satu bentuk mendorong peningkatan produktivitas ekonomi, sarana pendidikan dan kesehatan serta akan membentuk lapangan kerja baru. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik di kawasan terpencil maka solusiterbaik adalah membangun PLTA Pikohidro. Penentuan dan pemilihan PLTA Pikohidro dikarenakan keuntungannya yaitu biaya perawatan yang terjangkau oleh kemampuan masyarakat terpencil, estimasi biaya investasi, kemudahan dalam pengelolaan perawatan dan pemeliharan, dan efisiensi letak/posisi pembangkit Listrik dengan rumah warga yang dialiri listrik. Kegiatan pengabidian kepada masyarakat ini mendapat respon dan antusias baik dari masyarakat Desa Batu Layang Kabupaten Bengkulu Utar

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Engine oil is widely found in the remote village in many types of oil for engines. The more alternative engine oil products there are, the more choices of engine oil that are appropriate, correct, valid, and ideal. Many standards are referred such as SAE, API Service, and JASO. Buyers are not free to choose engine oil according to their wishes. Apart from that, there are also many fake engine oils circulating. Therefore, efforts are needed to overcome this problem. One way is to provide basic knowledge and understanding to villagers in choosing valid and correct types of engine oil based on engine characteristic specifications. The selection of valid and correct engine oil according to engine specifications in order to prevent and maintain engines from damage is the focus of community service. Strategies and methods in selecting valid and correct engine oil according to specifications are solutions in maintaining and caring for enginesOli mesin saat ini banyak beredar di masyarakat umum baik jenis maupun bermacam-macam oli untuk mesin. Produsen pabrik oli mesin menghasilkan produk untuk konsumen untuk menggunakan oli mesin miliknya. Fakta di lapangan, semakin banyak alternatif produk oli mesin, maka semakin banyak pilihan oli mesin yang sesuai, benar, valid, dan ideal. Oli mesin dari berbagai merek produsen pabrik dipasarkan dengan beragam tingkat kekentalan (viskositas) atau lebih dikenal dengan istilah SAE, API Service, dan JASO. Pembeli bukan berarti bebas memilih oli mesin sesuai dengan keinginannya. Terlepas dari itu, terdapat juga oli mesin palsu yang banyak beredar. Oleh karena itu perlu upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Salah satu caranya dengan memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman dasar kepada masyarakat Desa Lokasi Baru dalam memilih jenis oli mesin yang valid dan benar berdasarkan dengan spesifikasi karakterikstik mesin. Pemilihan oli mesin yang valid dan benar sesuai spesifikasi mesin dalam rangka pencegahan dan perawatan mesin dari kerusakan menjadi fokus pengabdian kepada masyarkat mandiri. Strategi dan metode dalam pemilihan oli mesin yang valid dan benar sesuai spesifikasi merupakan solusi dalam memelihara dan merawat mesin. Akhir kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat mandiri ini memberikan informasi penting kepada masyarakat Desa Lokasi Baru, Kecamatan Air Periukan, Kabupaten Seluma Provinsi Bengkulu berupa penetahuan dan pemahaman terhadap pemilihan oli mesin sesuai spesifikasi

    Two-wheeled vehicles, especially motorcycles that we have encountered and used in the life of our surroundings in general people within the city of Bengkulu. Ignition System CDI (Capacitor Discarge Ignition) has always played an important role in motor vehicles. CDI ignition system can be interpreted as a whole in the heart in a series of two-wheeled vehicles. The authors conducted research on the use of a comparison with the standard AC-CDI of racing AC-CDI the engine performance. This research was carried out by varying the rear wheel rotation is 240 rpm, 250 rpm, 260 rpm, 270 rpm and 280 rpm in perseneling reduction of 1 and perseneling reduction of 2. The parameters obtained are Torque, Power and Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC). Standard AC-CDI perseneling reduction torgue of 1 = 4.3274 Nm, engine rpm 7466.34 rpm. Racing AC-CDI fueled pertamax higher torque value, the lower the engine revolution.Perseneling reduction torque of 1 = 6.2016 Nm, revolution the engine rpm 7454.08. Perseneling reduction torque of 2 premium = 7.0912 Nm, engine rpm 4465.81 rpm. Reduction torque pertamax = 10.1148 Nm perseneling rediction of 2 and revolution the engine 4484.12 rpm. Rated power perseneling reduction of 1, perseneling reduction power of 1, left = 4.5332 hp, perseneling reduction power of 1, pertamax = 6.4859 hp. In perseneling reduction of 2, premium = 4.4342 hp, perseneling reduction power of 2,pertamax = 6.3936 hp standard AC-CDI power lower its value compared to the racing AC-CDI.
