Kampanye dan Penggunaan Garam Beryodium di Desa Leuwiliang, Jawa Barat
In 2002, about 71.8% of community at District of Bogor consumed iodized salt at adequate category. This figure is far beyond the target of Universal Salt Iodization (USI), i.e.>90% of households consume high concentrate iodized salt. If the salt consumed fulfills the requirement it will minimize theproblem of swollen goitre glands in the community. The study used qualitative method. Data were obtained through in-depth interview, focus group discussion, and iodized salt to test. There were 39 informers that consisted of mothers either having an occupation or not who lived or did not live with their parents, providers, cadres, family welfare and empowerment, sellers of daily living necessities in the market or stalls at Subdistrict of Leuwiliang. In general there was a difference between informers living with their parents and those living separately, either in those who worked or did not work. Informers living with their parents tended to choose salt in bricket because the parents liked it. Meanwhile informers living away from parents chose iodized salt without the influence of their parents. All informers said that the message was communicative and clearly delivered. There was no difference in behavioral changes based on age and occupation. There were informers with elementary or junior high school education found it difficult to change their behavior. Whereas informers with senior high school or diploma 3 education soon changed their behavior by consuming iodized salt after watching the campaign. Availability of salt and purchasing power of the community were relatively good. There was no special socialization about iodized salt conducted by providers. Informers living with their parents tended to choose salt in bricket because their parents liked it; on the other hand, informers living away from their parents preferred iodized salt without the influence of their parents. The message in the short campaign was memorable so that informers still remembered it. Behavioral changes of the informers in using iodized salt were not affected by age and occupation but by education. Availability of iodized salt and purchasing power of the community were relatively good

This work examines the progressive deterioration in the relations between the national government of Mexico and the Mexican Communist Party in the 1920s until the communists were finally forced into clandestine work. Some of the factors that motivated the confrontation were: on one hand, the consolidation of the post-revolutionary state in Mexico and the improved relations with the United States and on the other hand, changes in Comintern policy. Based in documents from the agn Mexico (Dirección General de Investigaciones Políticas y Sociales), the author illustrates the forms of surveillance and repression conducted by the Mexican government against communists, who were considered a threat to political stability

Francis Bacon: Painting in A Godless World
Throughout his career, Francis Bacon (1909-1992) made many anti-religious and, more specifically, anti-Christian statements. Bacon was a militant atheist but his atheism was not a simple dismissal of religion and religious belief. He exploited the symbols of Christianity, especially the Crucifixion and the Pope, in order to show its untenability in the modern age. Setting out to account for Bacon's recurrent and sustained use of religious symbols, Rina Arya explains how the artist redeployed religious iconography to convey an experience of the human condition, specifically animalism and mortality. By placing the work within the context of post-war philosophical pre-occupations with the death of God, the author provides a robust framework in which to view and interpret Bacon's complex images. Refreshingly original, this book marks a new approach to appreciating the work of one of the leading artists of the twentieth century

Teaching Seakeeping for Ships and Offshore Structures: A Delicate Balance
Seakeeping is traditionally taught for Naval Architecture using mainly ships as examples. Many books are also available in a similar way citing ships as examples. However, in order to cater for students in offshore or Ocean Engineering, a paradigm shift is inevitable. The author teaches Seakeeping Part of the Module Marine Dynamics for Stage 2 students of both streams: Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering. The available hours are limited, and within this span of time the students of both streams have to be taught basic seakeeping aspects citing examples of both ships and offshore structures. This is rather a challenge. As the same group of students study another Module Marine and Offshore Mechanics, a delicate balance need to be maintained so that both groups of students can have equal understanding of the subsequent module with ease and comfort. The author has now done it for last 5 years and according to him, most of the students finally manage to understand the module quite well. The author thinks that teaching and learning in Stage 2 has been the root of the final success
