Statistical Analysis for Non-Normal and Correlated Outcome in Panel Data
No full textThere are many cases that cannot fulfill some assumptions in statistical analysis, such as normality and independence. In many practical problems, the normality as well independent assumption is not reasonable. For example, data that repeated over time tend to be correlated. If analysis ignores the non independent outcome the Standard Error (SE) on the parameter estimates tends to be too small. Generalized Linear Model (GLM), Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE), and Generalized Linear Mixed Model (GLMM) can be used for nonnormal data using the link functions. GEE includes working correlation matrix to accommodate the correlation in the data. GLMM may overcome the repeated observation and allows individual have different baseline/intercept. The study is aim at comparing result based on those approaches. The data that are used in this study are from BPS and the outcome that are used is poverty proportion. Based on the study shows that GEE approach is better than GLM for marginal model, and GLMM approach is better than GEE with dummy variable
Spatial Regression Approach in Determining Factors Affecting Percentage of Human Trafficking Victims inWest Java.
No full textThe spatial dimension plays a key role in many social phenomenons such as poverty, pollution, disease, crime and others. Social phenomenon in certain areas is influenced by the social phenomenon in other locations. One of the interesting social phenomenons that will be studied in this research is human trafficking in West Java. The aims of this study are to identify the spatial effects on percentage of human trafficking victims, and to determine the factors which affected percentage of human trafficking victims in West Java in 2010. The existence of spatial relationship information between district/municipality led to need to accommodate the spatial variability in the model, so that the model used were spatial regression models. Based on the analysis, spatial effect influential significantly the percentage of human trafficking victims. The hotspot for human trafficking victims were Cimahi Municipality, Bandung Municipality and Bandung District. The best model to accommodate spatial effect in this study was General Spatial Model (GSM) with AIC-value=-361.46 and R2a=71.34%. Based on GSM obtained the indepen-dent variables or factors which significantly affected percentage of human trafficking victims in West Java in 2010 for α=0.05 as follows: the average of population with divorce status, the average of population with local migrant status, and the average of population with maximum education in Junior High School

The author refers to the technical markings by cellist Mstislav Rostropovich for fingerings and bowings in the first cello concerto No.1 by Dmitri Shostakovich, which later was found discrepancies in the preferences of technical considerations, thus have made the author want to try to solve technical problems in the repertoire in a more personal way.
Fixed Regression Test Day Model as a solution in predicting the genetic value of dairy cattle
Get PDFGenetic evaluation on milk yield production basically based on breeding value. This research was addressed to study milk production curve, for the most appropriate genetic evaluation, and the best methods in estimating genetic parameter and predicting breeding values. Data were collected from PT. Taurus Dairy Farm, consisting of 581 cows having 305 days records in first lactation (P305) and 542 cows having 305 days records in second lactation. Records used for Test Day (TD) evaluation were 5,373 for first lactation, and 4,925 for second lactation. Total records used for Test Day were 10,298. The results indicated that the most suitable curve, being able to be used for genetic evaluation was Ali-Schaeffer with the coefficient of correlation of 0.999, and the most appropriate model for estimation of genetic parameters and prediction of breeding values was fixed regression model with the regression of Ali-Schaeffer by taking account to the covariates. The genetic evaluation can therefore be conducted simultaneously by ignoring lactation levels. Key Words: Test Day, Milk Production Curve, Breeding Value, Dairy Cattl
