Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera) terhadap Kadar SGOT dan SGPT Tikus Model Diabetes yang Diinduksi Streptozotocin
Penyakit tidak menular menjadi penyebab utama kematian secara global. Diabetes
melitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular dengan angka kejadian
yang tinggi. Kondisi hiperglikemia yang tidak terkontrol akan menyebabkan
komplikasi ke hepar. Hiperglikemia akan meningkatkan produksi Reactive Oxygen
Species (ROS) akibat adanya peningkatan faktor-faktor transkripsi, seperti NF-kB
dan EGR-1. ROS menyebabkan peroksidasi lipid membran sel dan mitokondria.
Aldehid yang terbentuk akan mengurangi jumlah glutation hepar dan meningkatkan
produksi sitokin proinflamasi, yaitu TNF-. Akibatnya, terjadilah kematian
hepatosit yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar SGOT dan SGPT
Kasus Langka Iskemia Tungkai Akut Vasospastik
Background: Acute limb ischemia (ALI) requires immediate treatment to maintain limb viability and prevent morbidity and mortality. Nevertheless, vasospastic acute limb ischemia on limb arteries is rarely reported.
Case Illustration: This article reported a 37-year-old woman with sudden pain in her left leg and foot. The absence of peripheral pulsation of the left dorsalis pedis artery and popliteal artery were noted. Her foot was cold and clammy with decreased oxygen saturation in the left toes. The symptoms were partially improved following heparinization therapy. Angiography was conducted, and it revealed the spasms of the left popliteal and dorsalis pedis arteries with no sign of acute embolism or thrombosis. Arterial vasospasm is a rare cause of acute limb ischemia. A theoretical etiology of this vasospasm might be a secondary Raynaud's phenomenon. The associated factors were female, pre-menopausal age, the use of combined injectable contraception containing estrogen, and exposure to cold temperatures.
Conclusion: This case report emphasizes the necessity to consider all possible causes in ALI-presenting cases to provide adequate therapy and prevent limb death.Latar Belakang: Iskemia tungkai akut (ALI) memerlukan penanganan segera untuk mempertahankan viabilitas ekstremitas dan mencegah morbiditas dan mortalitas. Namun demikian, iskemia tungkai akut vasospastik pada arteri tungkai jarang dilaporkan.
Ilustrasi Kasus: Artikel ini melaporkan seorang wanita 37 tahun dengan keluhan nyeri mendadak pada kaki kirinya. Pulsasi perifer dari arteri dorsalis pedis dan arteri poplitea kiri tidak dapat dirasakan. Kaki dingin dan basah, disertai dengan penurunan saturasi oksigen di jari kaki kiri. Gejala mengalami perbaikan parsial setelah terapi heparinisasi dimulai. Angiografi menunjukkan spasme arteri poplitea kiri dan arteri dorsalis pedis tanpa tanda adanya emboli atau trombosis akut. Vasospasme arteri merupakan penyebab iskemia tungkai akut yang jarang ditemui. Etiologi teoritis dari vasospasme ini mungkin merupakan fenomena Raynaud sekunder. Faktor-faktor yang terkait adalah perempuan, usia pra-menopause, penggunaan kontrasepsi suntik kombinasi yang mengandung estrogen, dan paparan suhu dingin.
Kesimpulan: Laporan kasus ini menekankan perlunya mempertimbangkan semua kemungkinan penyebab dalam kasus ALI untuk memberikan terapi yang memadai dan mencegah kematian anggota badan

Renoprotective Activity of Moringa Oleifera Lamk toward Kidney Injury Rats Induced by Streptozotocin
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion. Chronic hyperglycemia in diabetes causes dysfunction and
failure of various organs of the body such as the kidneys, eyes, nerves,
heart and blood vessels. The purpose of this study was to analyze
how the effect of the treatment given by Moringa leaves on diabetes
mellitus conditions, especially on glomerular histopathological damage. In this study, to make diabetic mice using the induction of
streptozotocin after which Moringa leaves were given as a form of
treatment. The dosage of Moringa leaf extract was divided into 5
groups, namely 62.5mg / kg, 125mg / kg, 250mg / kg, 500mg / kg, and
1000mg / kg doses. The histopathological image obtained will be assessed using scoring, and for data analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis
test and followed by the post hoc test using the Mann-Whitney test.
The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of giving
Moringa leaf extract on glomerular histopathological damage. The
results of the Kruskal-Wallis data analysis test showed significant
results, namely p = 0.001, after the data obtained were significant
data, then it was continued with the post hoc test using the MannWhitney test with significant results when compared with negative
controls ranging from the 125mg / kg dose group 1000mg / kg
Logam berat Pb, Cr dan Cd dalam Perairan Pelabuhan Tanjung Mas Semarang
The concentrations of metals in the marine waters were found in water pound of Tannjung Mas Semarang Harbour. Three metals (Pb, Cr, and Cd) have found in that research areas. Majority of heavy metal have found during research was undetected / below detected. However Cr was increasing that concentration during on July and Cd was increase on September and November. The higher Cr concentration was found in station 1 and Cd found in station 1 and 4
Konsentrasi logam berat telah ditemukan dalam air laut kolam pelabuhan asedimen Tanjung Mas Semarang. Tiga logam berat seperti (Pb, Cr, dan Cd) telah ditemukan di lokasi penelitian. Konsentrasi logam berat yang ditemukan selama penelitian kebanyak tidak terditeksi/ below detected. Namun logam Cr meningkat pada bulan Juli dan logam Cd meningkat pada bulan September dan Nopember. Konsentrasi Cr ditemukan pada stasiun 1 sedang Cd tertinggi ditemukan pada stasiun 1 dan 4
Aktivitas Antioksidan dan Kandungan Senyawa Fenolik Makroalga Coklat Sargassum sp.
Present research was to evaluated the antioxidant activities of extracts from macroalga Sargassum sp. In this study, seven filtrates from maceration (methanol pa and technical grade, ethanol pa and techinal grade, methanol technical grade 50%, infused hot water, boiled water) were analyzed for total phenolic compound (TPC) and for antioxidant activities (DPPH method). The results revealed that the water filtrates possessed more TPC and antioxidant antivity than alcoholic filtrates, and the highest was water filtrate from boiled Sargassum sp. (TPC =1,36±0,01 mgGAE/g dry weight; % inhibtion DPPH = 81,35±0,42 %). The high positive correlation between TPC and antioxidant activity (r = 0.99 ) suggested that phenolic compound were the mayor antioxidant components. The effect of TPC (dependent variable) on DPPH radical inhibition (independent variable) with regression formula y = 55,39 x + 5,18.
Penelitian ini mengevaluasi potensial aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak Sargassum sp. Pada kajian ini, 7 filtrat hasil maserasi (metanol pa dan teknis, etanol pa dan teknis, metanol teknis 50%, perendaman air panas/hot infused, dan perebusan dengan air) dianalisis kandungan total fenoliknya (TPC) dan aktivitas antioksidannya (metoda DPPH). Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa filtrat air memiliki kandungan TPC dan antioksidan yang relatif lebih tinggi dibanding filtrat alkohol dan yang tertinggi adalah filtrat hasil perebusan Sargassum sp. (TPC =1,36±0,01 mgGAE/g berat kering; inhibisi DPPH = 81,35±0,42 %), Korelasi positif yang tinggi antara TPC dan aktivitas antioksidan (r = 0.99) menunjukkan bahwa kandungan senyawa fenolik merupakan komponen utama yang menghasilkan aktivitas antioksidan. Pengaruh TPC (variabel bebas) terhadap inhibisi radikal DPPH (variabel terikat) sesuai dengan persamaan regresi y = 55,39 x + 5,18
PENGARUH PEMBERIAN SUSU TERHADAP INDEKS MASSA TUBUH DAN KEPADATAN TULANG PUNGGUNG REMAJA PRIA
Milk is the best source of calcium and many studies suggest that adolescence who drink milk or eat other dairy foods have stronger bones and better nutritional status. The objectives of this study were to determine effect of high calcium and fresh milk on nutritional status and bone density. Variables measured in this study were body mass index and bone density of trunk. Samples were 55 adolescent boys aged 17 to 19 years old (students of TPB IPB). The study was conducted at TPB IPB dormitory during four months. The design of this study was nested randomized design with two factors. Two kinds of milk (fresh milk and high calcium milk) and 3 levels of volume (250 ml, 500 ml, and 750 ml) were used. Results of the study indicated that high calcium milk consumption was able to increase body mass index and bone density of trunk. It was found that high calcium consumption showed very highly significant effect (P<0.01) on bone density of trunk. Calcium from high calcium milk showed very highly significant effect (P<0.01) on body mass index. Based on general linear model equation, bone density of trunk can be estimated by high calcium milk consumption

Effective Dose of Moringa Leaf Extract (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) to Descrease Total Cholesterol Levels in Streptozotocin-Induced Male Wistar Rats
Lipid metabolic disorder in hyperlipidemia characterized by an increase in the entire lipid profile in the blood. In 2019, the global prevalence of hyperlipidemia was 64.2%. Many patients with diabetes mellitus developed to hyperlipidemia. Diabetes mellitus characterized by hyperglycemia that caused by insulin production defects or decreased insulin resistance. Hyperglycemia in this study resulted from the injection of a streptozotocin dose of 45mg/kgBB intraperitoneally. Hyperglycemia could induced hyperlipidemia. It is due to increased lipid synthesis resulting in overproduction of HMG-CoA and ROS. Moringa leaves contain active substances such as flavonoids and vitamin C that act as antioxidants. This study was conducted to find out the effective dose of moringa leaf extract to lower the total cholesterol levels of male Wistar rats induced by streptozotocin. The dose of moringa leaf extract was divided into 5 groups, namely 62.5 mg/kgBW, 125 mg/kgBW, 250 mg/kgBW, 500 mg/kgBW, and 1000 mg/kgBW. The analysis of the data in this study was a Pearson correlation test that showed p< 0.05. It demonstrated that administration of moringa leaf extract correlated with decreased cholesterol levels of male Wistar rats. The effective dose of moringa leaf extract was calculated using a linear regression test. The equation obtained from the regression test was y= 0.0739x + 153.59, so the dose of moringa leaf extract that effectively lowers the total cholesterol levels of male Wistar rats was 528.96 mg/kgBW.
