This thesis has the intent of studying the applicability conditions of SiAC project of the PBQP-H in the building sector of the Balneário Camboriú city. An analytic model to the research of the thesis is created and it has as base the theme of organizational change. This model introduce the content of the change an its context of application as two elements of incitement to adhesion to change process (Daft, Pettigrew) and the questions of company architecture and deep learning cycle (Senge) as requisite of effective establishment of this process. A questionnaire is applied as research instrument wich is created taking the requisites of SiAC project as base. This questionnaire has 23 questions and is applied in the building company's managers of the city studied with the intention of evidencing their point of view of costs and benefits that each requisite provide. To analyze the answer's standard are applied multicriteria analysis and descriptive statistic. Taking the informations of the research and the Civil Construction Industry characteristics as base, this thesis conclude that in the requisites proposed by SiAC's project there are someone's who are critical. These critical requisites are mainly clustered in the areas of measurement and analysis, and in the area of human resources management and are obstacles to the implantation of SiAC project in the studied industry. A revision in the evolution levels for adhesion in the SiAC project is recommended and also is recommended that these levels been constituted through proceedings in the areas of conformity management, human resources management and strategic management. Also is recommended that the rules for concession of public financing been redefined to allow that those building companies that have been certified in the stage of conformity management can receive the financing

The technology of orgasm "hysteria", the vibrator, and women's sexual satisfaction
The author explores hysteria in Western medicine throughout the ages and examines the characterization of female sexuality as a disease requiring treatment. Medical authorities, she writes, were able to defend and justify the clinical production of orgasm in women as necessary to maintain the dominant view of sexuality, which defined sex as penetration to male orgasm - a practice that consistently fails to produce orgasm in a majority of the female populationThis male-centered definition of satisfying and healthy coitus shaped not only the development of concepts of female sexual pathology but also the instrumentation designed to cope with the
Anthropology of the Memorial: Observations and Reflections on American Cultural Rituals Associated with Death
This paper is a meditation on contemporary rituals in the United States associated with death—in this case, the memorial. The essay addresses David R. MAINES' advocacy of using narrative to address a social (and anthropological) event. There are social expectations at memorials, rituals of talking good about the deceased, rituals of grief. Friends and family come together to communicate about the deceased. Strangers connect by their mutual connection to the dead. Every culture has its own set of rituals and rules when it comes to honoring and admiring the dead; this one is American. From an autoethnographical approach, the author reveals his own inner ritual, a personal memory, of a friend and former lover who has passed. The author discusses the processes of recording dialogue and experience via memory, and the criteria for quality in this autoethnography.

Anthropology of the memorial: observations and reflections on American cultural rituals associated with death
This paper is a meditation on contemporary rituals in the United States associated with death—in this case, the memorial. Soil carbon sequestration (SCS) has been identified by the IPCC as one of the most promising and
cheap methodology to reduce atmospheric CO2. Moreover, an increase in soil organic carbon
(SOC) levels improves soil quality by increasing soil structure (and, hence, resistance to erosion)
and promoting soil ecosystems services like water retention, productivity, and biodiversity. Various
agricultural techniques are available to increase SOC; among them, crop rotation can improve SOC
through soil coverage, changes in water regimes, increase in both carbon inputs, and increase in
soil aggregates formation.
SOC dynamic models, such as RothC, have been suggested by the IPCC as a way to evaluate the
SCS potentials of different soils. Such models could also be used to evaluate the sequestration
potential of different agricultural practices. Moreover RothC allows to estimate the time within
which the SOC variation, due to a certain agronomic management, can be considered significant
as measurable above a threshold value.
In this study, we evaluated the SOC changes for different crop rotations through direct
measurements and RothC modelling, with the objective of: (a) estimating their SCS potential, and
(b) propose a robust monitoring methodology for SCS practices. We performed the study in an
agricultural field close to Ravenna (Italy) characterized by Cambisols and humid subtropical
climate. Soil carbon content was assessed before the setup of the crop rotation, and after 3 years
of rotation. A RothC model was calibrated with field data, and used to estimate SOC dynamics to
50 years, in order to assess long-term SCS. The model results were also used to assess the best
methodology to estimate the SOC variation significance.
The measured SOC was similar to the equilibrium SOC predicted by the RothC model, on average,
for the crop rotations. The measurements showed that the SOC, already low at the beginning of
the experiment, further decreased due to the crop rotation practice. Of those tested, the best for
SCS involves the following crops: corn, soybeans, wheat on tilled soil, and soybeans; while the
worst is with corn, wheat on tilled soil, and wheat on untilled soil. However, the SOC variations
predicted by RothC for the various rotations were too small to be observable in the field during
experimentation. This could be due both to the uncertainty associated with SOC sampling and
analysis, and to the short duration of the experiment. The moving average computations on the
simulation values allowed us to assess the time required to measure the long-term trend of SOC
variation as significant with respect to the environmental background, instrumental error, and SO
The potential of using Collective Intelligence principles and approaches in Service Design projects aiming for a systemic change
Collective intelligence (CI) involves people working together, often with the help of technology, to mobilize a broader range of information, ideas, and insights to address a social challenge. This thesis explores the potential of using Collective Intelligence Design (CID) principles and approaches in Service Design projects aiming for a systemic change. As Service Design goes through a transformation that tackles complex problems within ecosystems, CID offers valuable approaches for co-creating innovative solutions considering various stakeholders' interconnectedness. The aim is to investigate the values and challenges that CID might pose for service designers working with transformational projects. To arrive at results, the author analyzed real-world applied CID case studies and conducted a user research session with seven service designers from different backgrounds composed of interviews and a dynamic with card positioning. The results culminated in a card deck comprising the categories of practice, methods, and technologies to bring reflections to potentialize already applied approaches or experiment with new ones. By synthesizing insights from literature, analysis, and service designers, this thesis explores these approaches' potential values and challenges for scholars, practitioners, and organizations aiming to navigate new methodologies and skills within service design projects
Echo: Poems
Going beyond Carl Sandburg\u27s concept of poetry as an echo, asking a shadow to dance, this collection, its rhythm encompassing the echo, brings back and sheds new light on the childhood, coming of age, and tough issues of the baby boomer generation. Lovin does the hard work, looking back at things/to come from a time/not yet arrived resulting in her flawless dance as the reader\u27s reward.
-Hilda Downer, author of Sky Under the Roof: Poems
Christina Lovin\u27s outstanding new collection Echo is wrapped in images of a time when A Toni and a tube of Fire and Ice, / some typing lessons, and a course in shorthand / could take a girl a long way if she was wise . Lovin reveals to her readers that growing up in small town America is more than eating ribbon candy, TV westerns, or lounging on the porch glider. Echo is an impressive work.
