Circular planning and adaptive design strategies to recycle wasted landscapes: The per-urban territories of campania plain as a case study
Get PDFThe Campania Region, in the South of Italy, is a territory where numerous Wasted Landscapes (WL) are recognisable, as the result of serious socialand governmental problems.Through the last decades, many factors have been overlapping in this complex palimpsest: illegal developments and the measures to legitimizethem can be paradoxically understood as real cornerstones for the local planning system; the traces of the post-Fordist abandoned landscapes aremixed with the historical remains, showing the deep sense of identity that still persists in the territory. On the other hand, the Campania Plainis a porous territory characterised by an adaptive resilience. This is interwoven with the presence of areas of outstanding natural beauty, with aresilient interstitial agriculture, and with a fragmented but resistant economy.In this paper, two emblematic case-studies are discussed (Casaluce and Est-Naples), understanding WL as an additional category of waste withthe urgent need to be recycled, in order to: reactivate urban metabolism; to improve the quality of life, the spatial quality of the territory, and theregional economy.Environmental Technology and Desig

databaseThe aim of this research is to reconstruct the Italian bibliography of texts not included in the literary canon of the 20th century. The sources surveyed for this purpose include SBN, InternetCulturale, AIB, resources belonging to international research centres, and Google Books, consulted to double-check questionable information. Building the online bibliography required the definition the structure of bibliographic data. The model adopted is based on the authority records issued by SBN, which associates authors with hyperlinks to the sources used to disambiguate the entity and validate the sources themselves. The survey includes first and subsequent editions of the texts. The objective of the research is to re-think the bio-bibliography of works belonging to the 20th century in the light of the Digital Humanities
A interação no livro digital em formato EPUB: potencialidades da hipermídia em obras histórico-regionais

Inicialmente é apresentado um levantamento bibliográfico sobre os conceitos do livro digital e sua contextualização tendo em vista o atual cenário do sistema editorial. Posteriormente, estabelece-se a relação da navegação e da interface gráfica de livros digitais de formato ePub com os recursos hipermidiáticos de texto, som, imagem, animação e vídeo. Como delimitação da pesquisa, o estudo propõe um aprofundamento nas potencialidades de interação do livro digital em obras de caráter histórico-regional, por considerar esse gênero de publicação de extrema relevância no contexto social e acreditar que, com a utilização da hipermídia no livro digital, os registros e as narrativas históricas possam ter um destaque ainda maior e proporcionar uma interação mais imersiva por parte dos leitores que terão a possibilidade de ler, ver e ouvir os acontecimentos histórico-regionais relatados nessas obras. O método de pesquisa adotado envolveu, após a etapa de revisão de literatura, o projeto e a avaliação da interação de um livro histórico-regional em formato ePub. Livro este desenvolvido no Laboratório de Hipermídia da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina e disponibilizado para avaliação em um dispositivo tablet. Os ensaios de interação realizados, somados às técnicas de observação e de entrevistas, objetivaram verificar as especificidades da interação dos usuários com os elementos hipermidiáticos apresentados na obra. Como resultados alcançados, percebeu-se que os elementos de hipermídia inseridos em livros histórico-regionais em formato ePub potencializam o nível de interatividade e garantem uma compreensão mais realista das informações contidas na obra. Por meio do ensaio de interação constatou-se que a exploração dos recursos de vídeo, demonstrando cenas dos acontecimentos históricos presentes na obra, e da relação entre o texto e o áudio correspondente aos depoimentos das fontes orais citadas pelo autor do livro, despertaram interesse e apreciação dos participantes. Os resultados contribuirão para direcionar futuras pesquisas sobre o uso da hipermídia em livros digitais e potencializar a inserção de recursos interativos em obras de caráter histórico-regional. Abstract : This dissertation presents the analysis as the main axis of the interactive potential of digital books in ePub format accessed from tablets devices. Initially we present a literature review about the concepts of digital book and its context in view of the current scenario of the editorial system. Later, we establish the relation of the navigation and the graphic interface of digital books in ePub format with hypermediatic resources of text, sound, image, animation and video. As delimitation of the research, the study proposes a deepening in the potential interaction of digital book in works of historical-regional stamp by considering this genre of publication as extremely relevant in the social context, and believe that with the use of hypermedia in the digital book records and historical narratives may have an even greater emphasis and provide a more immersive interaction from readers who will be able to read, see and hear the historical-regional events reported in these works.The research method used includes, after the step of literature review, the project and evaluation of the interaction of a historical-regional book in ePub format. That book was developed in Hypermedia Laboratory of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and available for evaluation on a tablet device. The tests for interaction performed, combined with the techniques of observation and interviews, aimed to verify the specifics of the interaction of users with hypermedia elements presented in the work. As results, it was noticed that the elements of hypermedia inserted into historical-regional books in ePub format potentiate the level of interactivity and ensure a more realistic comprehension of the information contained in the work. Through interaction assay was found that the exploitation of video resources, showing scenes of historical events contained in the work, and the relationship between text and corresponding audio to the testimony of oral sources cited by the author of the book, aroused interest and enjoyment of the participants. The results will help to guide future research about the use of hypermedia in digital books and enhance the inclusion of interactive features in works of historical-regional stamp
Cuidando do recém-nascido em UTIN: convivendo com a fragilidade do viver/sobreviver à luz da complexidade
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem, Florianópolis, 2009.Este estudo trata da elaboração de um modelo que contempla o fenômeno do cuidado em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal a partir da compreensão do ser e fazer enquanto enfermeiro neste sistema complexo. Tal compreensão aborda as transformações ocorridas desde a criação das UTINs até a atualidade, vislumbrando sua busca pela integralidade ao oferecer um cuidado sensível e compartilhado. O referencial metodológico da Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados (Grounded theory) associado ao Paradigma da Complexidade de Edgar Morin foi utilizado na análise e na construção do Modelo Teórico: CUIDANDO DO RECÉM-NASCIDO EM UTIN: Convivendo com a fragilidade do viver/sobreviver à luz da complexidade. Participaram da pesquisa 11 sujeitos, entre enfermeiros e mães com bebês internados na UTIN. Utilizou-se a entrevista aberta para coleta dos dados. A análise comparativa dos dados subsidiou o processo de codificação, amostragem, saturação teórica, ordenação e integração dos dados. Os dados foram inseridos no software NVIVO, dando seqüência na organização e agrupamento dos mesmos. A organização dos códigos foi feita de acordo com suas propriedades e, então, agrupados em códigos preliminares, subcategorias e categorias. Através das inter-relações entre categorias, emergente dos dados coletados, identificou-se a categoria central, eixo norteador do Modelo Teórico, e integradora das categorias analíticas denominada: Convivendo com a fragilidade do viver/sobreviver: cuidado altamente complexo, sensível, singular e compartilhado em torno da qual giram as demais categorias: Buscando conhecimentos e competências; Gerenciando o cuidado na UTIN e Vivenciando as singularidades na UTIN. Neste contexto, o cuidado em UTIN se fortalece como uma das áreas da Enfermagem em constante desenvolvimento, visando conciliar os avanços tecnológicos importantes para o sobreviver do bebê prematuro com abordagens que valorizam as inter-relações em seu quotidiano, de modo sistêmico. Busca atuar nas diversas esferas do cuidado complexo em saúde, desde os serviços de apoio da instituição hospitalar e seus gestores até a academia, visando evitar atuações compartimentadas e isoladas, integrando e aplicando conhecimentos científicos, com ganhos para a prática profissional. Oferecer suporte tecnológico já não basta. A pesquisa ressalta que é necessário exercitar as potencialidades já inatas dos profissionais de enfermagem e caminhar para o encontro de outras, um verdadeiro convite a novas percepções de cuidar do neonato, sua família e os membros deste sistema complexo, numa constante inquietação e adaptação para as demandas que surgem. Assim, as indagações norteadoras desta pesquisa convidam para a ampliação de novos horizontes de investigação, de forma que as possibilidades de estudos indicadas permitam o aprofundamento no âmbito das organizações de saúde e da academia.This study deals with the elaboration of a model which contemplates the phenomenon of care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), based on the comprehension of the human being and human actor as a nurse in this complex system. Such comprehension encompasses the transformations which have occurred since the creation of the NICUs, discerning its search for the entirety to offer sensible and shared care. The methodological reference of the Grounded Theory associated with Edgar Morins Complexity Theory was utilized in analysis and the construction of the Theoretical Model: CARING FOR THE NEWBORN IN THE NICU: Living with the fragility of living/surviving in the light of complexity. The sample was composed of 11 subjects, including nurses and mothers with newborns in the NICU. Open interviews were used in order to collect data. Comparative data analysis subsidized the data codification, sampling, theoretical saturation, ordering, and integration processes. Data was inserted into NVIVO software, providing a sequence in data organization and grouping. Organizing the codes was done according to their properties and thus, grouped in preliminary codes, subcategories, and categories. Through the relationships in these categories which emerged from the data collected, the central category, the guiding axis of the Theoretical Model and the integrating factor of the analytical categories was identified, denominated: Living with the fragility of living/surviving: highly complex, sensitive, singular, and shared care around which are the following categories: Seeking knowledge and competencies; Managing NICU care; and Living the singularities of the NICU. In this context, NICU care is strengthened as one of the Nursing areas in constant development, seeking to conciliate important technological advances towards premature newborn survival with the approaches which systematically value day-to-day relationships. It seeks to enact in the diverse spheres of complex health care, from the support services of the hospital institution and its management to academia, searching to avoid fragmented and isolated care through integrating and applying scientific knowledge with gains for professional practice. Offering technological support is no longer enough. Research highlights that it is necessary to exercise already innate potential in nursing professionals and work towards finding others, a true invitation towards new perceptions for care for the newborn, his/her family, and the members of this complex system in a constant unrest and adaptation of demands which may arise. Thus, the guiding questions of this study invite towards the amplification of new investigative horizons, in such a manner that the possibilities for suggested studies permit more profound in the realm of health care and academic organizations
