Materiał badawczy wykorzystany w artykule to głównie źródła – publikacje prasowe, plakaty i fotografie teatralne, w mniejszym stopniu wspomnienia, w jednym wypadku – nagranie radiowe. The subject of the article is the history of the theatrical reception of Janusz Korczak's (Henryk Goldszmit) (1878 or 1879–1942) literary works in Polish theatre in 1931- 2021, from the premiere of the drama Senat szaleńców in 1931 at the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw to the most recent productions. The author also includes adaptations of three of Korczak's novels for children: Król Maciuś Pierwszy, Król Maciuś na wyspie bezludnej (first printing - 1923) and Kajtuś czarodziej (oldest edition – 1935). The author writes about productions from dramatic and puppet theatres from various Polish cities, as well as about one ballet theatre, evoking staging, radio and television adaptations of Korczak's novels. It highlights the advantages and disadvantages of the parts of the staging, as well as the methods of promoting them. The reasons behind the low interest of theatre artists in the play The Senat szaleńców and the fact that they willingly adapt the writer's books for children are discussed. The research material used in the article is mainly sources – press publications, posters and theatrical photos, to a lesser extent memoirs, and in one case a radio recording. Scientific and popularizing studies, useful in the query and cited in the bibliography and footnotes, are publications on the biography of Janusz Korczak and the history of Polish theatre
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Film Wandy Jakubowskiej i Igora Newerlego „Król Maciuś I" (1957) – recepcja medialna i przesłanie ideowo-wychowawcze
In his article, Adrian Uljasz discusses media reception and the ideological and educational message of the adaptation of Janusz Korczak’s novel King Matt the First, the film King Matthew I (directed by Wanda Jakubowska, screenplay by Wanda Jakubowska and Igor Newerly) (1957). Uljasz addresses the means of artistic expression on which the authors based the educational message of this film. By media reception Uljasz understands the reception of Jakubowska and Newerly’s works in the media, from traditional printed works to the contemporary metamedium, the Internet. This research topic has gained in importance due to the anniversaries related to Korczak and Newerly. In 2022, eighty years had passed since the deaths of Korczak and his pupils and employees from the Jewish orphanage in Warsaw (1942). 1987 saw the death of Igor Newerly, educator and writer, co-author of the script for Jakubowska’s adaptation and Korczak’s close associate from the Warsaw orphanage. The film can be regarded in terms of transference of the views of these two writers-educators.In his article, Adrian Uljasz discusses media reception and the ideological and educational message of the adaptation of Janusz Korczak’s novel King Matt the First, the film King Matthew I (directed by Wanda Jakubowska, screenplay by Wanda Jakubowska and Igor Newerly) (1957). „Zaklęte rewiry” Janusza Majewskiego z 1975 r. według powieści Henryka Worcella jako przykład stale aktualnej adaptacji filmowej dzieła literackiego
Henryk Worcell's novel Zaklęte rewiry from 1936 is one of the most famous epic works from the inter-war period in Polish literature. After the announcement of the first edition, it aroused great interest and controversy as an example of environmental literature. The work presents the professional environment of employees of catering establishments, mainly waiters. Critics of employers were presented. The author appealed to his personal experience, because he himself worked in Kraków as a waiter. In 1975 a film adaptation was created – Zaklęte rewiry of Janusz Majewski. The author of the article compares the film and the novel. He tries to answer the question about the significance of Majewski's film for popularizing the book of Worcell. He discusses the reception of this image, constantly having recipients. It evokes opinions and questions of contemporary viewers. It refers to the issue of social relevance of both works. It emphasizes the universality of the novel and film message – timelessness and the fact that the problems presented by the creator of the literary original and the film director can be generalized, referring them to all professional environments. As a source base, it uses, in addition to the text of the novel and the editing of the film on DVD, printed sources, especially memoirs and journals, as well as press reviews. He also refers to other audio-visual sources than Majewski's film. He presents the results of an online query he has conducted, examining the current reception of the film adaptation of Worcell's novel.Powieść Henryka Worcella Zaklęte rewiry z 1936 r. to jeden z najgłośniejszych utworów epickich z okresu międzywojennego w literaturze polskiej. Autor artykułu porównuje film i powieść. Przywołuje opinie i pytania współczesnych widzów.
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
