Migrants and Crime in Sweden in the Twenty-First Century
In 2005, the Swedish Crime Prevention Agency published a report about the link between immigration and crime. Since then, no comprehensive study has been conducted even though Sweden has experienced a large influx of migrants in combination with a rising crime rate. This study conducted by Goran Adamson and Tino Sanandaji is the first purely descriptive scientific investigation on the matter in fifteen years. The investigation (from 2002 to 2017) covers seven distinct categories of crime, and distinguishes between seven regions of origin. Based on 33 per cent of the population (2017), 58 per cent of those suspect for total crime on reasonable grounds are migrants. Regarding murder, manslaughter and attempted murder, the figures are 73 per cent, while the proportion of robbery is 70 per cent. Non-registered migrants are linked to about 13 per cent of total crime. Given the fact that this group is small, crime propensity among non-registered migrants is significant
On large families of automorphic L-functions on GL2
The goal of this dissertation is analytical investigation of large families of automorphic L-functions on GL2. With a view towards potential applications in Analytic Number Theory, we investigate families of holomorphic modular forms, but additionally averaged over the nebentypus - characters and over the levels. We establish orthogonality in such a family in the limited range in the form of large sieve type inequality. Further we investigate non-vanishing at the central point of the corresponding L-functions and give a bound for the sixth moment for ¡1(q)-family, consistent with Lindelöf hypothesis on average.Ph.D.Includes abstractVitaIncludes bibliographical referencesby Goran Djankovi
Why Do Right-Wing Populist Parties Prosper? : Twenty-One Suggestions to the Anti-Racist
In this piece, Goran Adamson argues that the anti-racist rhetoric is naive and dangerously counter-productive. In theory, they refer to populist parties fueling on the anti-racist elite’s outcries. In practise, however, the anti-racists have forgotten all about it, and seem to believe that right-wing populism will vanish if only it is told off. Shocked, anti-racists say populist parties gain voters despite having certain views. But nobody votes on a party despite its view. True to leftist sensationalism, anti-racists always talk about fascism within right-wing populist parties, thereby overlooking a wide array of other causes for voter appeal. Prone to instant aggression, anti-racists react with fury to any populist provocation, thereby contributing to the meteoric rise of contemporary populism in the West. Instead of conducting a proper analysis, anti-racists say how can people vote on these parties and so on - much like an anti-racist bourgeoisie. Anti-racists, Goran Adamson claims, seem to think knowledge of right-wing populism is compromising, as if you would be tainted by it. In fact, it is the other way around. Criticism requires knowledge - and an ignorant anti-racist might, in the long run, have no power to resist the allure of right-wing populism. People vote on right-wing populist parties, anti-racists maintain, because these people fail to understand. But they claim they do, even though they have reached other conclusions. The responsibility of the financial and political classes for provoking popular reactions is minimized, while the distress among ordinary people is belittled or moralized. The political class ignores a central leftist principle: social behavior has often political/economic explanations. As a direct result of multiculturalism, the pet theory among anti-racists, society’s underprivileged groups - domestic workers and migrants - are in constant conflict instead of uniting against globalization and neoliberal deregulation. This is called divide and rule. In their quest for ideological purity, any anti-EU sentiment, anti-racists claim, is right-wing extreme, hence driving scores of voters into the arms of right-wing populism. These parties are further boosted by the fact that anti-racists sneer at family values and cultural traditionalism. Vocal victims of EU’s austerity measures are dismissed as right-wingers, further fueling political polarization. Popular and populist, anti-racists maintain, is basically the same thing. As a result, democracy becomes politically tainted, and the anti-racist elites are the only safe-guard against unaccountable elites. Right-wing populists never cease to talk about our roots, while multiculturalists never stop talking about roots overseas. Save for that geographic detail, they are two branches of the politicalromantic tree. Right-wing populist parties prosper, but not despite anti-racist efforts, Goran Adamson argues, but as a result of them.</p

Interview in Goran Milić's Documentary Series "What's up Paris, London, Berlin"
Rad predstavlja analizu dokumentarnog serijala „Whats' up Paris, London, Berlin“ autora i scenarista, Gorana Milića i intervjua sa sugovornicima u tri europska glavna grada kroz osam epizoda. The paper presents an analysis of the documentary series "Whats' up Paris, London, Berlin" by the author and screenwriter, Goran Milić, and interviews with interlocutors in three European capitals through eight episodes. The paper provides a brief overview of Milić's journalistic journey and his work on television, and then the basics of documentary films and interviews as a journalistic genre, and describes in more detail the characteristics of interviews and analyzes which elements the author uses that make up his unique style. There were no previous works that analyzed the topic in detail, and therefore this paper represents a contribution to the understanding of the character and works of Goran Milić, who played a notable role in Croatian journalism, especially documentary
Localization of packet based radio transmitters in space, time and frequency
We consider the scenario where one or more sensors observe a frequency band potentially used by multiple radio transmitters forming packet based networks. Our goal is to develop algorithms for estimation of spectrum usage in space, time, and frequency. This estimation is obtained by performing some form of analysis of the received signals at the sensors. The proposed algorithms can be used for achieving efficient spectrum utilization by identifying unused portions of spectrum in space, time and frequency as well as for other applications requiring spectrum monitoring. The received signals consist of packets from multiple transmitters with possible time-frequency collisions. Each received signal consists of multiple statistically homogeneous segments where each combination of active transmitted signals creates one or more of such segments. In order to perform any form of statistical analysis using conventional methods for stationary or cyclostationary signals these segments must be first localized in time. In the first part of the thesis we propose a nonparametric algorithm for solving this problem. Initial segmentation is computed using a variant of mean shift algorithm, which is a clustering tool based on nonparametric estimate of the underlying probability distribution. We show that this type of mean shift algorithm is based on the modified Newton's method and provide a convergence analysis which explains how and why the algorithm works. Final segmentation results are obtained after applying a cluster validation procedure and impulse noise filtering on the initial segmentation results. In the second part of the thesis we propose a method for analysis of the segments localized in the first step. This method is useful if transmitted signals are linearly modulated or can be approximated as sums of linearly modulated signals. For each set of segments generated by the same combination of the transmitted signals we compute a certain two dimensional slice of the fourth order spectrum. These slices are arranged in a three way array. We show that under certain conditions it is possible to recover contributions of individual signals to the observed three way array by decomposing the array into low rank terms. Thus, for each received signal we can estimate its spectrum and the associated activity sequence in time. We discuss the uniqueness conditions, treat the nontrivial problem of fourth order spectrum estimation and propose a numerical algorithm for estimation of the spectra and the associated activity sequences of individual signals from the observed three way array. The algorithms for segmentation and fourth order spectrum based analysis require only one sensor. In the third part of the thesis we assume that multiple sensors are available. Using the algorithms mentioned above for each transmitter we can estimate its received spectrum at different sensors. From the received spectra of the same transmitted signal at different sensors it is possible to estimate the source signal spectrum and transfer functions of the channels between the transmitter and the sensors. For realistic channels the resulting deconvolution problem is often ill conditioned and then the solutions provided by existing algorithms are useless. We show that a useful solution to the formulated blind deconvolution problem can be obtained using the norm regularization and propose a numerical algorithm for estimation of the channel parameters and the source spectrum from the received spectra at the sensors. The estimated channel parameters depend on the location of the transmitter relative to the sensors and thus, they can be used for transmitter localization in space.Ph. MINI-ESSAY AS A FORM IN GORAN STEFANOVSKI’S ESSAYISTIC WORKS
While the form of mini-essay or draft-essay is not yet firmly standardized in literary theory, its presence in literary space cannot be neglected, especially since it is one of the most common forms of expression of the author\u27s essayistic I at present. Hence, this literary form deserves reference in the critical and theoretical reading of contemporary literature, which can lead to new theoretical insights. This paper addresses its presence in Goran Stefanovski\u27s essayistic works through “conserved impressions” most of which were first published in the eighth and ninth decades of the last century. Reading them in the context of Stefanovski\u27s entire essayistic works, the mini or draft essay is confirmed as the exclusivity of literary essayism. Considering Stefanovski\u27s essayistic works as a result of a creative thought process, this paper suggests that “impressions”, such as mini or draft essays, can be regarded as the first phase of the process in which essay perceptions and reflections on identity issues and dilemmas present in some of them, which dominate his further essays in terms of topic and motive, go through a process of creative thinking as well as experiential and cognitive observational initiation, which evolves their explication in the essay text to the level of hyper-essay. The paper also points to the conclusion that essayism should not and cannot be fully considered as a much later manifestation in Stefanovski\u27s work, and that the topic and motive dominating his later essays should not be attributable exclusively to the state of voluntary two-home exile and the post-Yugoslav context.

If the poetic of Goran Petrović's prose is taken into consideration, the exsistence of wider
frome of research has to be accepted. The one necessary to contextualize Petrović’s prose
,define literary historical positions and poetic outline of his work with critical receptive
limitation the fact that we analyse the work of an author whose opus has not been
finished yet.Setting a wider frome of research represents literary historical and poetic
standpoints of Serbian prose after The Second World War up to the appearance and
domination of postmodern forms and transformations of poetic model. In this from the
basic postmodernism characteristics are analysed as wel as the results of literary critical
and theoretic receptions of notion the most important representatives and works in
world literature are given. In Serian literature the novel wich outlines the poetic border
of Serbian postmodernism stands out:,,Dictionary of the Khazar “by Milorad Pavic.
After wider introduction ,separate works of Goran Petrović are analysed. Those works
have been published from 1989 to 2010.
In the first phase individual characteristics of his short prose work are
researched:,,Advices for Easy Life”(1989) and novel:,,Scay locked Atlas”(1993) are
explored. Functionally structural characteristics of work can be seen, the presence of
postmodern are given.Broadening of register by introducing new times is explored..
