Patton of the Eleventh Alabama Infantry to his family. There is also a letter from a niece or great-niece, Mabel Patton Morrison, to one of Abner's sisters thanking her for allowing her (Mabel) to copy Abner's letters. The collection also has a family tree of the Patton and Steele families.Biographical/Historical Note: Abner Edwin Patton, son of William and Elizabeth Steele Patton, was born in Knoxville, Alabama, on September 14, 1835. He attended the University of Alabama where he was a founding member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on that campus. He joined the Eleventh Alabama Infantry Regiment and was mortally wounded on July 13, 1862. He died the following day on July 14, 1862

Assim, o gestor no setor da saúde, necessita basear-se em modelos gerenciais e adaptar seu próprio estilo, baseando-se em suas características pessoais e de relacionamento com seus subordinados e superiores. Para sabermos a diferença de gestão no meio militar e privado (setor saúde), procuramos identificar características pessoais e estilos de gerência. Para definir tais dificuldades e diferenças, adotou-se instrumentos como: questionário, testes e entrevistas. E baseamo-nos nas teorias GRID, tentando caracterizar o estilo gerencial no meio militar e privado

No full textCon questa ricerca si intende approfondire le conoscenze su alcuni litotipi che afferiscono a due importanti formazioni vulcanoclastiche: l???Ignimbrite Campana sia in facies gialla che grigia e il Tufo Giallo Napoletano.
Questi materiali, largamente utilizzati nell???architettura storica della regione Campania, rappresentano un patrimonio storico-culturale, la cui tutela e conservazione deriva direttamente da un???approfondita conoscenza non solo del litotipo stesso ma anche del contesto in cui questo è utilizzato come materiale da costruzione.
A tal fine sono stati censiti gli impieghi principali delle vulcanoclastiti sia come materiale da costruzione che come lapideo ornamentale e la loro distribuzione nelle aree di maggiore interesse storico. Sono state poi valutate le principali caratteristiche di questi geomateriali al fine di migliorare la conoscenza dei litotipi dal punto di vista mineralogico, chimico e soprattutto dei parametri petrofisici, poco conosciuti a tutt???oggi. Sono state osservate le modificazioni che i tufi subiscono nel tempo in conseguenza della interazione con gli agenti del degrado, sostanzialmente l???umidità (o acqua di infiltrazione) che costituisce il veicolo più importante per il degrado della pietra e le variazioni di temperatura. Al contempo sono stati approfonditi anche i processi chimici e fisici connessi ai fenomeni di alterazione, valutando le modificazioni indotte nella pietra in seguito ai trattamenti di invecchiamento artificiale. È stato infine verificato l???impiego sperimentale di consolidanti e protettivi, con l???obiettivo di migliorare le caratteristiche di compattezza e resistenza della roccia, modificandone la struttura interna e limitando per quanto possibile le infiltrazioni d'acqua meterorica

Dentre vários cargos ocupados, Abner Vicentini foi presidente da Associação Paulista de Bibliotecários (1958-1961); professor de Biblioteconomia na Universidade de Brasília (1964-1971); conselheiro da Federação Internacional de Documentação; consultor da FAO para a implantação da Biblioteca Nacional da Agricultura e do Sistema Nacional de Informação e Documentação Agrícola (1975-1976). Como diretor na área de bibliotecas, Vicentini passou pela seguinte trajetória: Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (1952-1953), Centro Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (1954-1963), Universidade de Brasília (1964-1971), Ministério das Minas e Energia (1972-1975). Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

In this essay I analyse three distinguishing features of Da Costa’s prose:
1. Da Costa often alludes to his sources with a single, murky term. This term reveals its ironic and subversive intention only if it is understood within a vertical axis, which connects Da Costa’s text to other texts (cf. § 1. «Somnium Scipionis»).
2. Da Costa’s prose always implies a complex interplay of sources, a borderland between the Jewish-Ladino and the Hispano-Portuguese culture. Perhaps, it would be better to say that in Da Costa’s prose different worlds faces one another so that their own borders are constantly being wiped away (cf. § 2. «La Biblia de Ferrara e il Libro di Giobbe»; § 3. «Letture camoniane»).
3. There is no doubt that Da Costa belongs to Sephardic-Averroism. This, however, does not always and necessarily implies that he directly knew and owned the key works of this tradition. Such works are still unpublished and they are often written in Arabic or in Hebrew. It is nevertheless remarkable that this tradition was wholly present in Abner de Burgos (1270c.-1346c.), an author whom Da Costa surely knew. While certainly being the most authoritative expert on Sephardic-Averroism, Abner supported a Talmudic-Christian standpoint, which Da Costa, being well aware of it, firmly rejected (cf. § 4. «Abner de Burgos e il linguaggio iperbolico della Scrittura»)
