    A study of surface roughness effect on a mound type breakwater using CWC - an experiment / Muhammad Hanif Mohd Abdillah

    Breakwaters are protective and sheltering structures which aim to provide either protection from waves and currents for people and goods at the coast or sheltering conditions for ships and boats moored at the port, thus ensuring that port operations are performed in safe conditions. The strong water flow that thorough the type of mound surface that should be used to ensure an effective breakwater. It can help the path of ships and bot to go to port by helps in reducing turbulent waves. This research in to analyse the type of surface roughness that help in breakwater mound effectiveness. This paper showed the experiment of breakwater mound surface roughness using the Circulation Water Channel (CWC). Circulating water channels are facilities which can be used for conducting environmental, metrological and engineering studies. The roughness of the breakwater mound is very the important thing in help decrease the waves turbulent. The research will remind us to study more about the effectiveness of the rough surface of the breakwater mound

    ABSTRAK Program unggulan madrasah merupakan inovasi yang dilakukan madrasah untuk mencapai hasil terbaik dalam pendidikan. MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang & MAN 2 Kota Malang merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang berfokus pada pembangunan karakter peserta didik khususnya dalam nilai-nilai religius. Hal tersebut dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan nasional yakni membangun kecerdasan intelektual, emosional dan spriritual. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini: pertama, apa saja program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang dan MAN 2 Kota Malang, kedua, penerapan program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang dan MAN 2 Kota Malang, ketiga, implikasi program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang dan MAN 2 Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi kondensasi data, penyaian data serta penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun teknik keabsahan data dengan cara perpanjangan keikutsertaan, ketekunan pengamatan dan triangulasi. Dalam penelitian ini dihasilkan beberapa temuan: (1) program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang yaitu: Program Penguatan Karakter, kegiatan didalamnya meliputi dzikir pagi, shalat dhuha berjama’ah, kultum, shalat dzuhur berjama’ah dan shalat ashar berjama’ah. Sedangkan program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MAN 2 Kota Malang yaitu: Program Insan Pro, kegiatan didalamnya meliputi mengaji, shalat dhuha, dzikir, kultum, tahajjud dan sedekah. (2) penerapan program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang yaitu: pemberdayaan wali kelas, pembinaan, dan evaluasi. Penerapan program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MAN 2 Kota Malang yakni: pembinaan dan kolaborasi antar komponen madrasah. (3) implikasi program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang yakni: membentuk pembiasaan beribadah dan kedisiplinan. Implikasi program unggulan dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius peserta didik di MAN 2 Kota Malang: penyeimbang materi umum dan nilai-nilai agama, ketenangan, optimisme, dan manajemen waktu. مستخلص البحث البرامج الرائدة في المدرسة ابتكار تقوم به المدرسة لتحقيق أفضل النتائج في التعليم. المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج و المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج هي مؤسسة تعليمية إسلامية تركز على بناء شخصية الطلاب، وخاصة في القيم الدينية. يتم ذلك لتحقيق أهداف التعليم الوطني ، وهي بناء الذكاء الفكري والعاطفي والروحي. أهداف هذه الدراسة : أولا ما هو البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لدى طلاب المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج و في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج، ثانيا ، تطبيق البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لطلاب المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج و في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج، ثالثا: أثر البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية للطلاب في المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج و في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج. يستخدم هذا البحث منهجا نوعيا مع نوع دراسة الحالة. يتم جمع البيانات عن طريق المقابلات والملاحظة والتوثيق. التقنيات في تحليل البيانات تكثيف البيانات وعرض البيانات والاستنتاجات. تقنية صحة البيانات عن طريق تمديد المشاركة واستمرار الملاحظة والتثليث. في هذه الدراسة ، تم التوصل إلى النتائج وكالآتي: (١) البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية في المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج و في المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج ، وهي: برنامج تقوية الشخصية ، وتشمل الأنشطة أذكار الصباح، وصلاة الضحى، محاضرة قصيرة ، وصلاة الظهر ، وصلاة العشاء . في حين البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لطلاب المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج هي: برنامج Insan Pro، تشمل أنشطة التلاوة وصلاة الضحى والذكر والمحاضرة القصيرة والتهجد والصدقة.(۲) تنفيذ البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية للطلاب في المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج ، وهي: تمكين ولي الفصل، والتدريب ، والتقييم. تنفيذ البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لطلاب المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج هو: التدريب والتعاون بين مكونات المدرسة. (٣) أثر البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لطلاب المدرسة الثانوية المحمدية ١ مالانج ، هي:الاعتياد على العبادة والانضباط. أثر البرامج الرائدة في غرس القيم الدينية لطلاب المدرسة الثانوية الحكومية ٢ مالانج: الموازنة بين القيم المادية والدينية، الطمأنينة والتفاؤل وإدارة الوقت. ABSTRACT The flagship program of Islamic schools (Madrasah) is an innovation implemented by these schools to achieve the best results in education. MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang and MAN 2 Malang City are Islamic educational institutions that focus on developing the character of students, particularly in religious values. This is done to achieve the national educational goal of fostering intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. The objectives of this research are: first, to identify the flagship programs used in instilling religious values among students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang and MAN 2 Malang City; second, to assess the implementation of these flagship programs in instilling religious values among students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang and MAN 2 Malang City; third, to examine the implications of these flagship programs in instilling religious values among students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang and MAN 2 Malang City. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study research design. Data collection is conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions. Regarding data validity, techniques include prolonged engagement, persistent observation, and triangulation. In this research, several findings were obtained: (1) flagship programs aimed at instilling religious values at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang include: Character Strengthening Program, involving morning dhikr, congregational Duha prayer, religious lectures (kultum), congregational Dhuhr prayer, and congregational Asr prayer. Meanwhile, the flagship program to instill religious values among students at MAN 2 Malang City is the Insan Pro Program, encompassing activities such as Quran recitation (mengaji), Duha prayer, dhikr, religious lectures (kultum), Tahajjud prayer, and alms-giving (sedekah). (2) Implementation of flagship programs to instill religious values among students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang includes: empowering class guardians, guidance, and evaluation. The implementation at MAN 2 Malang City involves guidance and collaboration among madrasah components. (3) Implications of flagship programs in instilling religious values among students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang include: forming habitual worship and discipline. Implications at MAN 2 Malang City encompass balancing general subjects with religious values, fostering tranquility, optimism, and time management

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Analisis Hukum Pelaksanaan Akad Salam Dalam Transaksi Komoditas Syari'ah

    The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding of what is referred to as a salam contract and how its legal status is determined based on Islamic law. As the economy becomes more efficient today, the salam contract can serve as an alternative that facilitates and benefits both parties involved in an economic transaction, particularly in buying and selling activities. This study employs a qualitative approach through an article study. The collected data consists of analyses from various sources, including scholarly articles and journals. One type of financial transaction that aligns with the principles of Sharia, such as the principles of justice and the prohibition of riba (usury), is the salam contract. By understanding the pillars, provisions, and conditions of the salam contract, society can conduct financial transactions more effectively and in accordance with Islamic law. The primary purpose of a salam contract is to enable producers to obtain the necessary upfront funds for the production process. According to Islamic law, engaging in a salam contract is permissible, supported by legal foundations derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, and the consensus (ijma’) of scholars. Moreover, there are several principles, provisions, and conditions required tensure that the salam contract is carried out legitimately according to Islamic law. In daily life, the practice of the salam contract can be observed, especially when goods are sold within the community. In such transactions, the salam contract functions as a means to ensure that the transaction is valid and compliant with Islamic law.&nbsp

    Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
